Cawood House provides spacious living accommodation for 42 residents with a large and beautiful garden, where residents are encouraged to spend time and a welcoming pub known as the Cawood Inn.

The team has worked hard to build a strong community reputation, maintaining positive relationships with residents and their loved ones through enhancing their quality of life.

The interior has been updated and tailored to suit the challenges faced by adults with dementia and has recently added a state-of-the-art spa bath designed to be both safe, accessible and enjoyable for elderly people.

My mum receives good care, mum is always well presented, clean on each of my visits. Mum appears well fed and usually in good spirits.

From first contact, enquiring about vacancies at Cawood House to settling my mother in, the service has been efficient, friendly, reassuring and very helpful. excellent liaison between family, professionals and services was provided. The care home is light, bright and welcoming. Rooms are comfortable.
Staff are friendly and efficient. The grounds are well maintained and provide a calm outdoor area for residents to use. Furniture is user friendly, there are lots of sitting areas so that residents can choose according to their needs. We are very happy that mother has been allocated a place here.

My mum moved here from another care home, it's a lovely friendly home. Staff are very helpful and mum seems to be settling fine; rooms have vinyl on the floor which is 100% better than carpet and it's clean. Could do with this in the passageways, but apart from that happy with the home and care.

My mum seems to of settled in well, the staff are friendly and helpful. The home is clean and homely, needs vinyl flooring in passageways but apart from that I can't fault the home and I think my mum will enjoy living here.

My mother is suffering from dementia so does not still have the ability to engage in conversations or activities such as reading, knitting, sewing, TV etc. She has all her other needs very well catered for by caring and generally cheerful staff who I feel i can approach with any concerns which may arise.
They all seem to know mum and are tolerant of her condition. We are encouraged to pop in at any time. She has been in the home for 15 months now and it has given her family peace of mind after suffering a torrid time when trying to care for her in her own home.

Lisa Murphy has been with Borough Care for 30 years, having started as a Care Assistant and working her way up through various homes. She has been a manager at Cawood House for four years.is the Home Manager at Cawood House.


Lisa and her team have been credited with the warm, family feel of the home and recently won Borough Care's 'Family Connections Award' for her and her team's amazing work in building a real community within the home.


Lisa says visitors to the home can expect "warmth love and laughter."
