Set in a desirable residential road in Stockport, Peel Moat Care Home is very much a residential home with local popular appeal. Residents have often lived locally and know that they are only just a stone’s throw from the local shops and churches.

At Peel Moat Care Home, there are two lounges and dining room on the ground floor which are used for activities, such as armchair exercises and flower arranging, or just reading the newspaper! Many bedrooms have en-suites and are decorated to a high standard. Of course, residents can bring their own items of furniture and ornaments to really make their rooms reflect their own taste and choices.

Every resident has an individually tailored care plan to ensure that all care and support issues are met by the dedicated care team, but the care delivered does much to support independence, individual choice and dignity.

Residents are supported to carry on being involved with friends, families, churches and clubs while having all of the struggles of running a home taken care of. Opportunities to make friends, join in organised activities and dine to an excellent standard are on offer daily.

The quality of the home cooked food and a varied menu are often commented on at the home and do much to keep residents happy and assist their wellbeing.

Mum had a medical emergency. Carers were very quick to respond and I was asked to attend immediately. Upon arrival, Mum had been kept comfortable and her breathing assisted until the paramedics arrived. Without their stoic persistence and extremely gentle but effective response, Mum may not have pulled
through. All the staff were marvellous! My welfare was also dealt with very kindly and my appreciation was noted with the home manager. I am so glad I have been able to put Mum in a lovely home.

Went to Peel Moat Care Home for respite care following a week in Stepping Hill Hospital.
The care was excellent and they got me eating again which has been a big part of my problem.
The place was very clean and great care given to all the residents whatever their condition was.

It was a good experience. All the staff were welcoming and friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I had a very pleasant room which was always favourably commented on by my visitors, especially on the way it was well maintained. I had a most enjoyable stay.

My husband spent 4 nights at Peel Moat Care Home. He was very positive about his visit. Helpful, friendly staff, comfortable, warm and clean surroundings. Plenty of good food at regular intervals and an outdoor seated area where he could smoke.

A place was found for my mother at Peel Moat by social services.
From our first interview and visit, we were very impressed with the care manager who presented the home to us as a home.
The attention to detail with regard to my mother's care and needs was excellent.

I would like to suggest that the afternoon cup of tea should be more special. The tea cups could be nicer and everyone could be gathered together in one room so it is more of an occasion. The chairs in groups possibly. It feels like the tea/coffee is just "doled" out and the tea cups are horrid and
tea is usually served cold! I am very impressed with the effort that is made in the dining room and feel this should be continued in the living rooms when refreshments are served.

This "home" for it is home for my mother could not be better. My mother was slowly deteriorating in her own home, lonely following the death of her husband of almost 60 years, increasingly a victim of dementia. Since she moved into Peel Moat the transformation has been amazing. The staff are the biggest
asset. Caring, full of good humour and treating every resident with respect and dignity. The food is home cooked, I can visit anytime and take my dog, who is always happy to be made a fuss of by everyone. I work long hours and the knowledge that my mother is so well cared for, gives me peace of mind. And I can visit anytime I like. I arrived one day and mother was nowhere to be seen, she was in the loo. The two carers accompanying her in there didn't know I was there. They were speaking to my mother so kindly and affectionately, proof that this home from home is top notch. Mother likes to go up to bed early and one young carer has arranged for her to have a telly in her room. SO KIND!

My Auntie stayed at Peel Moat Care Home for two weeks respite care. She had stayed there on two previous occasions and her son and I had been extremely pleased with the care she received and this last visit did not disappoint. All the staff are so patient, kind and caring and welcomed her back like
one of the family, making her feel at home straight away.The Home itself has a bright and cheerful atmosphere and my Auntie's room was lovely, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. We also like the fact that family and friends are welcome to visit at any time of the day without prior notice.

Very good care home, provides support and care for my mum. The staff are always friendly and approachable. Trips are provided very enjoyable for mum. Mum seems to be happy in the environment she is in, and enjoys as much as she can.

It is a year since my mother moved into Peel Moat following a short stay in hospital. I still visit each day, so can vouch for the diligent way that the residents are cared for. It is a credit to the staff that they remain calm, friendly and cheerful despite the long and demanding shifts that they
work. They respond well to the needs and preferences of the individual residents and do all they can to make it a happy, comfortable and safe environment.

I have visited Peel Moat Care Home for a number of years - there have been significant improvements at the home in terms of decoration, furnishings etc. which have made Peel Moat a really lovely home. The staff are very good - nothing is too much trouble and they make family and friends of residents
very welcome.
In particular, I have found the nursing manager, fantastic. Her relationships with the residents are second to none - she an excellent role model. Thank you for making Peel Moat a good home for an elderly, quite unwell friend.

I have worked in social care since 2000 and have held senior management roles since 2006. My experiences have been diverse having worked in adult care in the community and residential with dementia, mental health, all disabilities, and complex needs.


My work is my vocation. I believe that everyone is equal and entitled to the best care possible. I am committed and passionate to this ethos and recognise that in my role I can drive change and best practices enabling the best person-centred, high-quality care we all aim for.


My interests include walking my show dogs (Crufts) who have been on Coronation Street. I love cake decorating from wedding cakes to creative birthday cakes. I also love being in my garden. Spending time with my family is very important to me, my children and grandchildren enjoy getting together for a quality fun time, and I foster children as well. Time for them to integrate with our family dynamic which is truly amazing.
