My overall view is that Silverdale is well run with excellent staff with possibly, a need to be increased.
The present staff are excellent and hard working and very professional which gives both myself and my family peace of mind.

I find the care home very good, the carers are extremely friendly and will go out of their way for you. The home is clean, the care my father receives is very good.
I get the same feedback from my brother and sister. We are all happy with his care.

My mother took a while to settle in Silverdale but now is settled and enjoys living here. The staff have worked hard to help her settle in which we are all grateful for.

The home has looked after my mum for the past 8 months, she has enjoyed the home and the various activities that they take her on, as well as the internal activities provided. The standards seem very satisfactory to the residents that are there and they generally all seem happy, most of the time.

My mother could not be in a better environment, Silverdale care home has a lovely warm feeling every time I visit, my family say to me I made the correct choice for their nanna. All the staff are very caring, approachable and dedicated to the job they do for care at Silverdale.

I have just lost Mum and I could not find anyone better than the staff at the home. They are the most caring and friendly that you would find anywhere in Stockport. Mum was in Silverdale for around 2 and a half years. I send you all one BIG thank you for all you did.

My husband's stay at Silverdale was initially for 2 weeks respite care. On inspection of the home I was shown around and found the place to be very clean and all the staff that I met were very welcoming and friendly. My husband settled fairly well and seemed to enjoy the company of the service users
and meal times. We would have liked him to remain at the home but we were told there were no vacancies. His name is now on the list.

It was a heart-wrenching decision to make when mum couldn't return home. The staff at Silverdale were so supportive when I came to visit showing me different options and allowing me time to make the room personal for my mum.
Within a few days mum settled in she looked 100% better in herself (after
having a long hospital stay) she has even had her hair done by one fab hairdresser.
The staff are wonderful, I couldn't recommend it more.

We moved my dad into Silverdale in November. The whole experience has been amazing. From making the initial enquiry, being shown around and the way both my dad and family were made to feel welcome by all staff. We like the way a resident profile is completed so everybody is treated as an individual
and care is taken to find out likes and dislikes. We feel as if a weight has been lifted from our shoulders. Thank you for everything.

The overall care is quite good but there is definite lack of activities. A mum is not a complainer this is not a big problem but she has mentioned it to me. I understand that with a high number of dementia residents it is not easy to arrange a wide variety but unfortunately this does not affect residents
like mum. Staff seem to be well thought of overall. Re security it took two years to obtain a key for mums room which seems strange.

My father has been in Silverdale for two years. My mother was also in Silverdale for 2 months before she died. They both received excellent care. My fathers is well looked after he is kept clean and safe. My mother died in Silverdale and me and the family will always be grateful to the staff who looked
after her and us at a very difficult time.

My mum has been a resident at Silverdale since July 2015. All the staff here have done their best to ensure her move here has been as smooth as it could be. I come and go visiting my mum as often as I want and at no time have I had any concerns regarding the standard of care in the home. All the staff
try and make it feel as comfortable and homely as possible.

Jade

Jade Martin

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2020

Jade Martin has worked at Borough Care since 2010 and has been the Home Manager at Silverdale since 2020. Since she was a baby, Jade has been around a care home environment due to her mum also being a previous Manager for Borough care. Jade loved seeing the way staff interacted with the residents and the bond they had. She became passionate about care and that’s where her story started.

Jade says the team at Silverdale is special because no matter the situation they always pull together to make every day the best it can be for our residents, adding 'the team at Silverdale always create new innovative themed days which all the team will join in to ensure residents are living life in colour each day.'


Jade's favourite thing about the residents is: that no two days are the same, there is always something to laugh and smile about every single day.


Jade says that visitors to Silverdale should expect a lively, friendly atmosphere with music always playing, and welcoming, and happy staff who are always willing to help and go the extra mile.


Lindsay

Lindsay Hadfield

Job Title: Activity Lifestyle Facilitator

Lindsay is our amazing ALF at Silverdale. When she was a young girl, she visited a care home with her school and loved sitting and chatting with everyone. At college, she was stuck as to what she wanted to do and then saw a job in a care home. 29 years later she still absolutely cherishes her job. She says 'The smile on our residents' faces each day when I come into work makes everything worthwhile.'


Lindsey is a Dementia Friend Champion at Borough Care, providing training to new colleagues and she has also been nominated for numerous company awards.
