When my husband and I Came to view Auden House our first impression was it was clean and very homely. When we met the manager we realised that this was the place where we would like my husbands mother to reside. When the manager spoke about Auden House we knew she was passionate about her work, it appeared
to us that this was her vocation. The manager and her staff team have cared for our relative as if she were there own and to a higher standard than we could have hoped for. The staff team have time for each and every resident and genuinely care. We had no worries or reservations about the level of care she would receive. Mum soon adapted to life at Auden House and settled in really well. We were told we could come and visit anytime and we did. It was nice seeing her socialising with people of her own age. Mum enjoyed all the activities, Bingo, play your cards right, and listening to music from her era. Mum also enjoyed the trips out with the other residents and staff. A highlight was the Christmas party, seeing Santa and having a Christmas singalong with residents and family members. The Christmas holiday is thought out really well and there is plenty to keep the residents occupied. There is a real nice atmosphere in Auden House it is calming and there is always one of the staff members smiling no matter what day they have had. It's really comforting knowing that the staff team are all committed and there doesn't appear to be a high turnover of staff either which is a bonus for the residents as they are able to build a good rapport. The staff team were always open and willing to go out of their way if you required any specific care. There has never been a time when we have been less than happy with the care provided. Each resident has their own key worker and care plan and this is reviewed on a regular basis. Family are always made welcome and can come in and discuss their relatives care or other with the staff. We truly feel that the staff team go above and beyond their role as carers and when we have verbalised this they have said that they are doing their job.
We would like to thank all the staff team by name but can't possibly do this as the list would be far to long for this review. From growing their own produce in the garden, which the residents enjoy being involved in, to the relaxed atmosphere throughout the house, Auden House is outstanding in every way for us and we are really happy that we have had the opportunity to refer our mum here and for her to receive and experience the comfort care and support from a professional team.
Thank You everyone

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.021) out of 10 for Auden House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.813 for Auden House is calculated as follows: ( (39 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.813

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.208 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Auden House is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.8 = 0.833

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
