At the home, every member of the team is there to offer you the support and care you require, giving you the reassurance that every need is taken care of. The varied and carefully designed wellbeing and activities programme offers a range of things to get involved in, and connections with the local community are also encouraged, giving residents regular opportunities to get out and about and meet new people. My husband was 6 years in a home with Alzheimer's. It's different, far nicer than the one he was in. My brother lives at The Beeches - it is a very lovely place and I'm very pleased about that.

My mother has recently moved into The Beeches. After a small stroke and a period of time in the hospital. I have been delighted with the way she has been treated by the staff to make her feel welcome. The manager and staff were excellent when there was a problem with her discharge from the hospital,
sorting it out with me calmly and efficiently. I can tell my mum is being well cared for and is safe and sound in a well-run care home.

My 93 yr old mum has now been at The Beeches for 2 years. She has always been a very independent person and it was hard for her to give up her home and accept that she needed help and support in her everyday life to keep her safe and well cared for. She chose The Beeches as it is smaller home where
she felt secure and more able to understand the simple layout. Staff were very friendly on our visits. We joined in the activities provided, had lunches and mum soon made friends. Whilst it has not been an easy transition for mum to accept, often anxious and tearful, staff are always patient and attentive to her needs and do all they can to support her. The senior management team are especially supportive to both residents and relatives and work hard to ensure a clean, happy, safe and interesting environment for all who go there.

My mum has been at The Beeches for 10 months. It is a very warm and welcoming home with a "homely" feeling as you go in. My mum is very well cared for and all her needs are met. The staff are great, anything my mum has needed, they have arranged it for her, to make her day to day life as comfortable
as possible.

The best recommendation I can give regarding this care home is the outstanding qualities of the carers who work there. I visited many when I realised my mother would at some point require moving into a care home. It was the most difficult and upsetting decision I have ever had to make. A lot of the
care homes I visited looked very similar with respect to furnishings, cleanliness, etc. However, there is a certain 'warmth' about The Beeches Care Centre. This can only occur if you get a sense that the carers actually care.
After four months I have witnessed genuine respect, dignity and a sense of fun. As one carer put it on the very first day to my mother "We (the carers) are living in your home"
It just goes to show it's not what's on the outside but whats on the inside that is important.

Mum died in the Beeches Care Home today. The care and compassion shown by the staff was outstanding, she died with dignity and was blessed with the love shown by the staff. They went above and beyond their duties, some of the carers came in on their own time to care for her. All the staff should be
commended for their dedication to the residents. They not only cared for mum but also constantly offered drinks and hugs to all the family.

Introducing Louise Clifford
Home Manager at The Beeches, Tameside


What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“I believe that kind care means treating people with kindness and respect, just as I would want to be treated.”


Louise has gained over 15 years’ experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and committed leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked for the company for a number of years, Louise closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at The Beeches.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Louise remarked: “I get great satisfaction from knowing that I am making a difference to the lives of our Residents.”


Away from work, Louise likes to spend her spare time reading, watching films and enjoying days out at the beach.
