My mum has been a resident at Pole Bank for around 4 1/2 years and has been looked after very well. The home is kept clean and tidy. Mum is well into her 90's and the staff are very good with her. She is warm, comfortable and cared for. The home is secure but access is readily available for visits.

My mum has been living at Polebank for 2 years. The staff are friendly and very welcoming they know my mum's needs and look after her with dignity and so much care. The manager is very approachable and nothing is too much trouble and will go above and beyond to make sure her needs are met as will the
staff. The food is excellent all homemade with plenty of choices, dietary needs are also met. They have daily activities and trips out which I know my mum enjoys as do the other residents. I would not hesitate to recommend Polebank for your loved one where they are safe and very well cared for.

I can't thank the manager and the staff more for how they have treated my nan. They can't do enough for her and nothing is too much. She's healthier now than when she first moved in and is so much happier as she has all of her social needs met now. The staff make sure to always keep us updated with
everything.
They have activities to keep the residents active, parties, garden parties and make the residents families included in all of this. It really feels like a home away from home.

My Mum has been a full-time resident at Polebank for over 2 years, before this attended daycare from 2018 to 2020. The care they provide is outstanding, every member of staff is kind, respectful and gentle when managing Mum’s needs. I have total confidence in their ability, and I would completely recommend
their services to any persons considering an excellent care home facility for their loved ones. I take comfort in knowing my Mum is receiving the best possible care she could ever have, and she is being well looked after and loved. The care home manager has been super supportive regarding Mum’s palliative care, the emotional support provided has been exceptional. Throughout all my years dealing with care providers (which can be stressful) I have never met anyone like Polebank who do care for the resident’s wellbeing like their own, making sure their journey is as comfortable and enjoyable as much as possible. They are an excellent home and I am so very grateful and thankful!

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.694)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.694) out of 10 for Pole Bank Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.944 for Pole Bank Hall is calculated as follows: ( (34 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.944

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Pole Bank Hall is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 6 = 0.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
