The professional care team is on hand to help you or your loved one settle into life at Sunnyside, under the watchful eye of the Home Manager who leads the team in providing the kindest care possible to all residents.

Striving to create a relaxing and calming space for residents, the home offers a range of comfortable en-suite bedrooms to choose from, as well as a range of amenities which includes use of a minibus for residents to enjoy day trips and exploring the local area. My mum has been in the care home since January 21. I find the staff in general very helpful, they are very polite and listen to our requirements. I am happy with the situation of my mum.

My mum has only been in Sunnyside for a short time, but already I feel she is safe and being well looked after. Although due to the COVID restrictions I haven’t been on a tour of the home, I feel it doesn't matter because I get such good feelings whenever I visit, about the care and attention she is
getting, and she’s settling in well. The manager there is so helpful and is always available to talk to whenever I phone, she has allayed any worries I have. The staff I have met already are a credit to the home and go over and above to provide care in a professional and patient manner. I now sleep well at night which I haven’t done for months and months.

My mum has been a resident at Sunnyside for 3 years. The standard of care she has received has been outstanding. Every member of staff that I have had contact with have been professional, kind, compassionate and extremely patient. I can rest easy in the knowledge that my mum is safe, clean and very
well cared for. Communication between Sunnyside and myself is also excellent.

My mum receives support and help from very friendly staff. All residents have been extremely safe and protected during Covid19. If you ring the home, staff have time to answer any queries and are both reassuring and caring people. My mum says she has a variety of nice, enjoyable meals.

I’d like to thank the lovely staff who cared so well for my mum during the last months and weeks of her life. Especially the carer who sat with her as she passed away. There are many other members of staff worthy of a mention. Mum especially had a soft spot for two in particular and the manager and
lady in the office were so supportive and friendly. This home isn’t posh but it’s warm and homely, clean with good food.

Unfortunately, my Nan lost her fight on Friday.
Thank you to all the staff for the care and love they showed her over the past year and a half. My Nan could be difficult at times. She was very stubborn but they always remained caring and loving towards her.
Even as busy as they are on Friday and
whenever we visited, the staff could not do enough for us.

The staff are fantastic and extremely caring, helpful, professional and a credit to the company. The level of care my nana is given is exceptional and she is extremely happy at Sunnyside. The staff keep our family informed on my nana's daily routine. As a family, we feel very comforted that my nana
is being very well cared for when we are not around and the way she is with staff and they are with her is very comforting. The only negative is I think the staff are very understaffed.

The staffing levels at Sunnyside are under constant review by the management team within HC-One. Each month or following any changes to occupancy and dependency levels, the Clinical Risk Register is updated which allows us to review whether the staffing levels in the home are sufficient in terms of skill mix and staffing numbers.

Me and my family are very happy with the care home, my dad is settling slowly. The staff are very pleasant and is always happy to go the extra mile.

Having travelled down from Edinburgh to see my mum in her new surroundings I can safely say I can go back home in the knowledge that my mum is very happy and well looked after. I last saw my mum about August time and she was definitely not too good. Since I arrived last Thursday I cannot believe the
change in her. She has had a constant smile and really enjoys living here. I am so grateful to the staff and management for doing a wonderful job. Thank you all so much.

Rooms viewed prior to relative taking up residence was not the standard they actually received. Food is an issue - over seasoned. Meat (on roast dinners) more often than not are tough, my father in law unable to cut it/chew it. Heating often too high, paying for heating and then opening windows to cool
rooms.
Rarely see manager and do not always get feedback to our questions.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are sorry that you have expressed dissatisfaction with areas within the home. Rooms shown upon walk around are kept vacant so that families can view a room whilst maintaining the dignity of residents who reside in the home. The home manager completes daily checks on the quality of the food and there have recently been changes to kitchen staffing. The chef also completes checks during meal service to obtain feedback. The home manager has an open surgery each Friday so that families are given the opportunity to approach her with any concerns or questions they might have. Additionally, the manager holds a resident and family meeting monthly.

Staff are lovely. I always know my Nan will be looked after. I love looking at the photos on display every time I visit. The activities they arrange always look great and the residents seem to really enjoy themselves. I loved the summer fair that was arranged this year. It gave the families of the
residents the change to get involved and make new and happy memories. Also, like the newsletter.
