Very accommodating for my family. Always making sure my Gran is well looked after. Staff are helpful and keep the room tidy. Meals are good. They are always trying to get my Gran socialising with other residents and keeping her active.

My mother came here for respite and is still there. She has come on marvellously which is peace of mind for me as I was so worried for her. In her own home, she wasn't eating, sleeping and didn't even bother about her hygiene. Since coming to Sunnyside, I have my Mum back. She is eating, sleeping but
most of all she is happy. Amazing staff.

I feel the care home is working hard to always improve things, trying to get activities arranged, including outings for the residents, involving families and wanting their input. Organising events that bring everyone in the home together, creating good feelings throughout the home. Keep up the good

My nana has been here for almost 2 weeks now. I've genuinely not seen her this happy in a while. She's eating and gaining weight, sleeping well at night, getting involved in activities and says she's really happy! Which of course makes us happy. The staff are all brilliant too and I'm here at least
twice a day. She first came as respite and has now made the decision that she feels happy and safe here and wants to stay. Speaks volumes.

We recently moved my father into a home which is near us. We did this because we had visited my aunty who lives at Sunnyside. We visited her in August and were so impressed with the care and love shown to my aunt.


My wife had a bad experience with her parents, so we wanted to avoid a similar thing

happening. I'd advise anyone looking for care to visit a few homes. The home manager was very helpful. My cousin and his wife are very happy with the care.

The staff are absolutely wonderful. Caring and extremely focused on their jobs, my mum has extremely enjoyed her time in Sunnyside. Therefore I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone. Not had to complain about cleanliness or efficiency, excellent home and wish more homes were like to be honest.

I find the carers amazing and very helpful. The only thing I find a problem is my mum's clothes that seem to always be missing or ripped.

I find the staff very helpful and caring towards the residents. They are all approachable if I enquire about my mother's well being.
The activities are getting better although extra funding would be useful, the last weekend was very good.
I think the relatives meeting was a good idea. They give an
opportunity to find out/voice any issues we may have.

Our mum has been a resident at Sunnyside since March 2018. She has been well looked after and is very happy.
We have always found the staff and management to be friendly, approachable and caring. The home encourage Mum to join in with activities etc, something she wouldn't have done before. She is
happy, settled and safe. Something we all worried about.
I have nothing but good things to say about the home, carers and management.

After visiting several homes in the Tameside area and many hours spent reviewing CQC reports on the homes it was decided, as a family, that Sunnyside would best suit our Mums needs. The staff were excellent at the initial meeting and at the time of my Mums initial viewing, nothing has changed. The staff
continues to provide the same friendly, caring understanding treatment. My Mum has been ill on some occasions and again she has been well cared for. Activities are found to be stimulating, interesting and great effort by staff used. Any issues or constructive criticisms have been dealt with, although very few have been made as we have found few. Staff have open ears and happy to listen and discuss matters freely and openly and do their utmost to accommodate Mums needs after discussions. I would have no problem recommending Sunnyside to other families for their relatives and thank all the staff there for the help, assistance and care they provide.

Our mum has been in the home for over a year now. On the whole, we are extremely happy with it. As soon as you walk in the main door, you have a feeling of space and cleanliness and this carries on throughout the building.
It is well decorated and has a contemporary feel throughout. There is a lovely
garden.
The food is excellent, lots of choice.
The entertainment is very good and the residents always have a good time - and we enjoy it too.
There is a hair salon and a chiropodist.

My father has been a resident since April 2017. We have been very happy with the care provided overall. We sometimes feel there is a lack of communication between staff - e.g leaving messages that don't get passed on. Sometimes nursing tasks may get overlooked particularly pushing fluids. We don't know
if this is dependent on the number of staff to do this. Staff friendly and helpful always.

Thank you for your recent feedback submitted on carehome.co.uk in which you have expressed dissatisfaction in the communication amongst the staff team, general nursing tasks and the quality of activity provision. We have recently recruited a new senior staff team within the home who are working closely together. We believe good communication is paramount in the delivery of person-centred care. The care home operates a monthly Resident family meeting and a Managers surgery, dates of which are advertised within the care home. Families find this quite positive with regards to updates and communication. The Home Manager actively encourages people to attend. The care home has employed a Wellbeing Coordinator and a committee made up of Residents who contribute towards the planning of meaningful activities within the home. The Home Manager also obtains suggestions from Resident families within the monthly Resident family meetings for upcoming activity ideas.

My mother in law has been in your care from December 2017. Like I say, there were no problems only up to now and like I requested about the settee in the quiet room where mam and another lady normally sit and is very happy being in this room, and we are as well, because when we are not there we know
that the staff look out for her as they do for all the other residents. But, the other reason we want mam to stay in this room is because one of the other residents looks out for mam and this gentleman ring for the staff if needed, so this is why we requested that mam stays in the quiet lounge with him. Now the other problem we have is that the other big lounge has been shut off and made into a family room and I have been informed by a member of staff that mam cannot stay in this lounge on her own.

Thank you for your recent feedback submitted which you have expressed dissatisfaction in the environment and furniture in the care home. As a home, we encourage individual choice and freedom of movement. I am confident that staff encourage this when assisting residents to be seated in the communal areas. The family room was opened to encourage dignity and privacy during visiting times due to the lounges having limited seating capacity. Upon a recent home visit made by the Regional Director and Area Director a proposal was made to refurbish the quiet lounge and Byron lounge to create one open lounge and have more suitable seating.

A comfortable and friendly nursing home, where staff will go out of their way to help you and make sure that your relatives have everything they need and are well looked after.
All the staff are very approachable and listen to your concerns if you have any.
They try to accommodate you as best they
can if you do have any concerns.
A modern nursing home, newly renovated and they try to give residents varied things to do to keep their minds and bodies as active as possible.
Meals are varied too and they do not mind if you take them in for your relatives.
