Lakelands is a spacious, vibrant and well maintained home, with a well qualified and dedicated staff team led by experienced home manager, Margaret Bennett. It is situated in Higher Ince, approximately one mile from both Wigan and Hindley town centres. Local shops, a supermarket and local amenities are within walking distance and there is a main bus route close by.

The home is part of the award winning CLS Group, a not-for-profit organisation that is highly regarded in the local community and amongst its peers. The Group promotes outstanding standards of care throughout the organisation and provides extensive training and development support to staff.

I am satisfied with the care my brother gets. I do have concerns about how long things take to be fixed eg toilet, lift, bathroom. I researched a number of care homes for my brother and found Lakelands the most suitable. My brother does praise the staff, they do work hard, he is not one to complain.

My dad was a resident at Lakelands from December 2017 to May 2019. My family were very happy with the care and compassion he received there, staff very friendly and the care given to my dad, I couldn't fault. I particularly liked that they made mealtimes special, tables set nicely with table cloths,
serviettes, crockery etc and the food given was appropriate to their age group.
We did move Dad to another care home, but only because it was nearer to us and more than halved the journey to the home. I would not hesitate to recommend Lakelands and if it had been nearer to us, he would still be there.

My 96-year-old Grandma went to Lakelands in April of this year for respite.
Due to a series of health setbacks my Grandma is still a resident there which for us as a family, spread far and near, it is a comfort to know she has 24-hour assistance and her daily living needs are being tended to in our
absence. The home is well maintained, some of the decor is a bit tired and dated but the fundamentals are by far way ahead. The staff are great, nothing is too much trouble, they send regular emails of any changes to my Grans needs. My Gran has recently moved to a larger room which is better suited as her health requires a number of aids that take up precious space.
The manager is lovely and leads her team well. I would recommend Lakelands without a second thought. They are a wonderful group of caregivers and should be highlighted for the care given with dignity and respect at all times. We are so very happy with Lakelands, we sent a referral to CQC to say how well run the home is.
