This is a great care home, mum loves the home so I know she is happy there. The staff are excellent, not just the carers, the office staff, the kitchen staff and cleaning staff and probably the maintenance crew.
Yes, Norley Hall is a lovely home.

Staff friendly and helpful, home is clean, and has a good response to any questions I raised on behalf of my mother. My mother is happy and settled and speaks well of the carers who help her; she has received good medical support when required.

My mother loves it here, and she's not easily pleased. Staff are lovely, can't do enough for you. If you've got any problems, they are quietly sorted. Nice place to visit. Staff can't do enough for you. Lovely smelling home, clean and fresh.

From the moment I made my initial enquiry regarding the possibility of mum being cared for at Norley Hall to today, I and my family leave to find the staff and service to be excellent. All staff members have a genuine care for their residents. My mum was reluctant to leave her home of 40 years but since
moving in she is settled and so much happier. During a recent visit, mum told me and my sister that Norley Hall is the best care home in the world.

A loved one has recently moved into Norley Hall Care Home on a permanent basis. Staff have been kind and patient at a very difficult time. Care has been first class - laundry is of the highest standard. The quality of food is also very good. I would highly recommend Norley Hall to anyone considering
care facilities.

My Mum loved it at Norley Hall Care Home. The care and attention she received was outstanding. My Mum passed away in January 2021 during the pandemic and it was comforting to know she was so well cared for.

My father was on End of Life and we also have my mother as a resident. The care home went above and beyond to fulfil our important visits, not only for my father but also taking into consideration my mother who was about to become a widow. It’s a shame I couldn’t visit before he was diagnosed but fully
understood the reasoning behind the pandemic.

Some of the staff went above and beyond their duties, making sure I had FaceTime calls from their own devices. Something I will always be truly grateful for. Being a Funeral Director myself I knew what a hard task they would have to deal with as the staff had a superb rep-or with my father and knew he would be a huge loss, not only to our family but to the staff that cared for him.

We will be truly grateful for everything they did leading up to and at the time of dad's passing, for the family but most importantly for mum. The Care Home is run by one very caring, dignified and loving manageress whom I warmed to immediately. Thank you.

My mum was ill recently and when she came back to Norley Hall, she was dehydrated and she wouldn’t take her medicine or drink anything in the hospital. The staff at Norley Hall made sure she was drinking and she took her medication. They really looked after her, thank you very much.

This care home looked after my Granddad amazingly during not only a pandemic but also his first year in a home. They regularly posted pictures and videos on a public account so all relatives could keep up to date with the fun things and events happening in the home and what he was up to. He's not only
gained weight whilst being in there but has got some of his mojo back. Thanks all and keep up the good work.

My lovely Nan has been a resident at Norley Hall Care Home for some years now and as a close family, we all felt the huge guilt cloud upon us as we were no longer able to look after her ourselves, I'm sure most families can relate to this. The staff and management have over the years become like our
second family. They've been nothing but brilliant with my Nan, nothing's been too much trouble for them and we know she's in safe hands, which is a massive comfort to us. A massive thank you to all the fantastic staff for looking after an incredible lady, who reaches her one hundredth birthday on Saturday the twelfth of June!

My father was admitted to the home during the pandemic after spending several weeks in hospital under difficult circumstances. Since being there the staff have been excellent in taking care of him and have always been very attentive to our needs since myself and my brother both live overseas. He is
very well looked after and the staff are all very good with him.

My father-in-law was admitted to Norley Hall Care Home on 9th February 2021 for recuperation. After researching various care homes we found Norley Hall Care Home to be of a high standard of care, and we have not been disappointed. All the staff have been excellent in answering our many questions and
giving us very detailed updates on our father in law/father and completing any requests we have asked of them. The standard of care has been exceptional. Thank you Norley Hall for putting our minds at ease and looking after our loved one.

A big thank you to all the staff involved with Norley Hall. During this last 10-months; they have looked after my father along with the rest of the residents with such care and attention. Their attention to detail along with activities fun and games has been brill. Also, their fundraising for the residents
includes a hamper made by a young girl for Christmas, of which I won and am eternally grateful. So once again thank you, Norley Hall, as, without your dedication, my dad would not have survived.

Norley Hall is a wonderful care home. All of the staff are superb, they care and that is evident in the changes we have seen in our mum. Mum has come out of her shell and is involved with most activities, the activities lady is always coming up with such clever ideas to keep the minds going of the residents.
There is a lovely feel to Norley Hall, families are always made welcome. Because we know Mum is so well cared for it gives us as a family peace of mind. Thank you all.

It was a hard decision to put my mother-in-law into care, as half of our family work in the care sector, so we have very high standards. We know what level of care we expect and we were all very worried that she wouldn't receive the care that we expected. We can only say that every box has been ticked.
The care from every staff member has been second to none. Even though the coronavirus we have felt involved, confident and safe in the knowledge that our loved one is safe and cared for. My mother-in-law has thrived with your care despite her illness, so thank you to each and every one of you.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.852)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.852) out of 10 for Norley Hall Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.675 for Norley Hall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (65 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.675

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.177 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Norley Hall Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.4 = 0.577

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Kathryn Rimmer

Job Title: Manager

I have been in the health and social care sector for over 30 years now, starting out as a young care assistant at just the age of 19.

It was while working with dementia residents, especially that I found my calling and knew that this was what I wanted to do.

From assistant cook to carer to senior, I worked as a theatre assistant in the hospital environment also, working my way up to home manager almost 8 years ago.

I have achieved all NVQs in health and social care from 2 to 4 and up to a Diploma level 5 in Leadership and Management.

I am a very interactive manager and love nothing better than to sit and chat with each of the residents that we care for at Norley Hall. My aim is that each and every one of them feels like part of our family.

I am cheerful and positive and lead by example, to deliver the highest standard of care possible.

I believe that quality activities and interactions are as important as eating, drinking and sleeping. If we get this right then we can be sure that our residents will have the quality of life that they expect.

Kindness is contagious……. let’s share the kindness bug.
