I visit my auntie once a week. She is bed-ridden, so I can't comment on some options. I can comment on the staff, and they are very friendly and caring and treat her with dignity. Her room is very satisfactory and has everything you might need with lots of personal items/photo's etc around her. I would
definitely recommend Norley Hall.

Sadly my mum passed away three weeks ago. From May-Dec 19 she loved Norley Hall. I felt looked after the whole time as did mum, can't praise the staff enough. Lovely place and lots of activities.

Mum was taken ill in January 2019 and upon discharge from hospital she needed to go into residential care. Norley Hall Care Home made her most welcome and over the last eight months, mum's needs have fully been met. Mum's care needs have increased during this period and the care home has accommodated
the additional requirements. The staff are caring and always supportive. Mum is very happy with the accommodation, care and food and feels the care home is her home.

A very well-appointed, modern care home. Excellent caring staff who display genuine interest in residents' well being. Well-led by an experienced and attentive management team. A good and varied range of activities and entertainment organised by an in-house coordinator. Excellent food - varied with
individual needs met when needed. Although my mother in law has high demands due to lack of mobility, all needs are always met with patience and first-class care by all staff. I have total confidence in mum's wellbeing when I am not present.

I cannot recommend this care home highly enough. The building inside and out is very welcoming and the bedrooms are well equipped clean and comfortable. But above all of this, I would like to thank the caring, friendly, hardworking staff who looked after my dad so well during the last few months of
his life, ensuring his privacy and dignity were maintained at all times.

My first visit to see a new resident (friend). Very pleasing surroundings, clean, friendly and attentive staff. She seems happy after only one day there.

My dad arrived from hospital and was still very poorly. We had a few options regarding homes, however, we could not have chosen a better place for him. We cannot fault the care and attention given to him. He is content and safe. It gives up great peace of mind after a great deal of worry and concern.
He thinks Norley Hall is "fantastic".

The love and care shown to my father during his struggle with Alzheimers and dementia was outstanding. All the staff became his family and supported my mother through the most difficult of times. Wonderful staff.

Mum's care at Norley Hall was second to none. The staff were wonderful, always happy to help in any way they could. The whole atmosphere was very homely. I was kept well informed of her condition. Unfortunately Mum eventually had to be moved to a nursing home as her needs changed. Otherwise, I would
gladly have kept her at Norley Hall.

From the outset, I knew my mum would be cared for and treated with dignity and respect.
All the staff take the time to chat to residents and also the family.
We are still new to Norley Hall Care Home so still 'finding our feet'. A visitors' drinks machine would be appreciated (unless this is already
in place).
Otherwise, well-done everyone.

My mum sadly passed away in Norley Hall care home on the 11th March 2019. When mum started to be ill and reaching the end of her life, we could not thank the staff enough for their care and compassion that they gave to her at this time. They were also very kind and supportive to the family and nothing
was too much trouble. We will always be grateful to all the staff for the love and care for our mum. We definitely chose the right home for our mum 2 years ago.

I would like to thank you all for the help and support you provided with my neighbours move into Norley Hall. She is settling in well in such a short period of time and looks so much healthier. She says she is being well looked after, the people are friendly and the food is good - but she still can't
find the door! The manager was absolutely brilliant and would like to meet him and thank him personally. I can't thank and praise the staff enough. They always have time to talk to me about my neighbour and put my mind at ease. So a big THANK YOU to you all and keep up the fantastic work you do.

My father came in for respite for 3 1/2 months. Everyone made him feel welcome and the care, staff and support provided were excellent. The food was excellent also and I would definitely recommend the home.

I went into the home a little wary of what it would be like. I can say that I have been supported and helped by all the carers and management and they all made me feel welcome.
I really enjoyed the food; like a four-star hotel!
I would recommend this home and if I ever needed to go into a care home
again this would be my first choice.

My father came in for respite for approximately three and a half months.
He was made welcome and all the staff were very supportive and very aware of Dad's needs.
They helped him settle in.
He came out of the home with nothing but praise for all.

Bearing in mind that I am only a visitor (once every 2 weeks) I can only say that all seems to be running well, that the residents are well looked after and that I am reasonably happy with the limited amount I have seen on my visits.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.852)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.852) out of 10 for Norley Hall Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.675 for Norley Hall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (65 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.675

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.177 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Norley Hall Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.4 = 0.577

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Kathryn Rimmer

Job Title: Manager

I have been in the health and social care sector for over 30 years now, starting out as a young care assistant at just the age of 19.

It was while working with dementia residents, especially that I found my calling and knew that this was what I wanted to do.

From assistant cook to carer to senior, I worked as a theatre assistant in the hospital environment also, working my way up to home manager almost 8 years ago.

I have achieved all NVQs in health and social care from 2 to 4 and up to a Diploma level 5 in Leadership and Management.

I am a very interactive manager and love nothing better than to sit and chat with each of the residents that we care for at Norley Hall. My aim is that each and every one of them feels like part of our family.

I am cheerful and positive and lead by example, to deliver the highest standard of care possible.

I believe that quality activities and interactions are as important as eating, drinking and sleeping. If we get this right then we can be sure that our residents will have the quality of life that they expect.

Kindness is contagious……. let’s share the kindness bug.
