My friend took a while to settle into a care home. The staff have been patient and made her feel welcome. They encourage the residents to get involved in activities and ensure they enjoy every day.

The Carer's are great with the residents and the majority of the Carer's genuinely care about the residents. They do their best but they seem to be short staffed. The night staff don't seem to pass on information about event that happened throughout the night and fail to highlight major issues such
as rejection of medication over a time period of nearly a week.
There are not enough activities and the residents are regularly bored. Most of the residents have dementia and need to be stimulated.

The Carer's are great with the residents and do their best to provide the individual care and provide additional care where possible. They ensure dignity and privacy for all residents and really understand elderly people. It's clear that the majority of the Carer's have a lot of experience within the
care home environment, especially with residents with dementia. The Carer's know the residents well, they remember a lot of personal requirements, from how residents like their tea to family visiting patterns.
The food is good and residents are given options for meals.
As this part of the care home caters for EMI, I believe there should be more Carer's as there are some residents that require constant one on one care and have a lot of needs and require more support.
There's not a lot of activities going on and the residents seem to be bored and argue with one another regularly.
Overall it's clear that the health and safety of residents is a priority and the Carer's cannot do any more.

Croxteth Park Care Home has always provided a high standard of care for my uncle who has been a resident for almost three years. The food is excellent so is the friendliness of the staff. All staff are local people which is important to my uncle. I would have no hesitation in recommending Croxteth Park
Care Home to any potential residents/relative.

It was a nightmare and so depressing having to put my mum into a care home. I cannot thank the staff enough for all their help into settling her in and giving me advice on how to cope with all of this. I would highly recommend this care home. The service from all the staff was excellent and cannot be
faulted. They all went that extra mile for my mum.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.217)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.217) out of 10 for Croxteth Park Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.903 for Croxteth Park Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (66 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.903

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.314 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Croxteth Park Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.4 = 0.714

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager at Croxteth Park Care Home, Liverpool

ā€œI like that I can support our residents to have the best life possible whilst living at Croxteth Park.ā€

Having started her career in Health and Social Care following in family footsteps, Sam has progressed her career to Home Manager from being a Care Assistant straight out of college, achieving her life dream along the way.

Why did you decide to join Four Seasons Health Care?
I have worked for the company for 10 years, and I have been Home Manager at Croxteth Park since July 2021, after I supported the home for a short stint of 5 months in 2020. I love the open, honest and transparent approach of the company. I appreciate the guidance from my Senior Management Team and love the friendly feel of the care homes in the group.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I like that I can support others in their journey and career within the company and that I can support our residents to have the best life possible whilst living at Croxteth Park.

What are your favourite hobbies and pastimes?
I am a family person and when Iā€™m not working, I spend a lot of my time with family and friends.

Are there any highlights in your career you are particularly proud of?
I am proud of the team that I am surrounded by, who support me to achieve within the company.

What do you feel is your biggest achievement outside of your career?
Passing my driving test and buying my first home.

What are your Qualifications?
I completed a trident in high school at a care home near to where I lived. I went straight from school into college to study Health and Social Care, being successful in an apprenticeship. Following the apprenticeship ending, I was offered a permanent role.

Since joining Four Seasons in 2011, my passion has always been to succeed in my career and become a Home Manager by the time I reach 30 ā€“ that dream has now come true! I was a Care Assistant until 2016 and achieved my Level 2 & 3 in Health & Social Care. I then trained as a Care Home Assistant Practitioner until 2019, and then became a Regional CHAP Facilitator and achieved my Level 5 in Management. In 2020 I then returned to working in a care home, and over the course of a year became Unit Manager, Acting Home Manager, Deputy Manager, and finally Home Manager of Croxteth Park.

What top tips would you give someone when looking for the right care home?
