Connell Court offers warm and welcoming residential care for up to 37 residents in purpose-built, ensuite accommodation in beautiful Birkdale. The passionate team provides person-centred care in a home-from-home setting. Connell Court also offers short-term respite care.

As soon as you arrive, you'll see why people consider Connell Court a second family. A highly-trained team of dedicated and experienced staff works hard to ensure that the people in their care, and their friends and family, feel truly at home.

Staff encourage residents to live the life they want to lead: shared living/dining areas provide opportunities to interact with the tight-knit community, whilst they also encourage independence and pursuit of individual interests, through access to numerous activities as well as support with specific medical requirements.

Connell Court is close to lots of local amenities.

The activities team prepares a weekly schedule promoting physical, mental and social stimulation, offering group activities, as well as 1 to1 time. They value the stories and experiences of all residents in their care, getting to know each individual, their achievements and hobbies and will adapt their interests into the activities they provide.

In addition to a diverse diary of daily activities that take place in the home, they also focus on themed days, afternoon outings, local entertainment in the home, as well as meaningful moments. Every occasion is celebrated at Connell Court. Whether its a cream tea afternoon, a Ukelele lesson, or a talk on Charles Dickens, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

I have a friend here who has been here 6 years now and his health has deteriorated to such an extent he is virtually blind. The staff look after him so well and he always comments on the excellent service. He never complains about anything and praises the staff for looking after him so well. I visit
him weekly and how clean and tidy his room is always impresses me. The staff have got to know me and they are only too willing to answer any queries I have. I would have no hesitation recommending this home to anyone.

The staff are caring and supportive of the residents, as are the management, especially in this time of uncertainty as to the future of the home. The food is adequate and there is always a choice of menu. The activities coordinator is excellent and inventive and always appreciative of help and ideas
to keep the residents entertained. All in all a good care home.

Connell Court is a homely residential home. It is an ideal place especially for people like my mother, who needs support but not necessarily nursing care, though there have been occasions when this has been necessary. It is not too large to overwhelm the residents. The staff work hard to maintain a
cheerful caring atmosphere and the home is well-maintained and very clean.

My cousin has surprised us with how well and quickly she settled into Connell Court. My cousin was determined to continue living at home, but after a three week respite whilst we went on holiday, she informed us she didn’t want to go home. She has nothing but praise for the staff, says the food is marvellous.
Whilst she doesn’t participate in all the activities, Connell Court certainly provide a variety, both at the premises and trips out. Since my cousin has been living at Connell Court her health has improved, her anxiety levels have decreased considerably. The whole family would definitely recommend Connell Court to anyone in need of care.

From our initial enquiry, we were all treated with courtesy and respect. The staff made the transition from living at home to Connell Court as smooth as possible. Nothing was too much trouble and the extra touch of a 'welcome' gift was a beautiful thought. All interactions with the staff confirmed we
have made the right choice of care home and we feel she is now safely being cared for by amazing staff. Thank you.

My mum has just moved into Connell Court. The staff were fantastic with supporting the move. They have been lovely with my mum, and really helpful with all the questions I had relating to her move. Very friendly staff making her move as happy and reassuring as possible at a time when it is very unsettling
for her. The facilities are great, my mum loves the food and there are a lot of activities and day trips for her to consider straight away.

I cannot thank Connell Court enough for the care and attention given to my aunt. The last few years have been difficult for her. The staff have given total care and attention.
I was able to take her in the Friday prior to lockdown.
She was living alone and very vulnerable.
It was the best decision
I could have made.

I recently visited my aunt at Connell Court care home and was very impressed with how nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were polite, friendly and very caring. My aunt's life is so much more fulfilled since moving into the home.

My Grandad was reluctant at first to live in a care home. But he has settled in really well at Connell Court over the past few months. He has integrated well, thoroughly enjoys the food, joins in with activities and is comfortable in his new home.

I continue to be impressed by the values and enthusiasm of the care team in their work with my Dad. He now has a life that is full. He is happy, possibly for the first time since the early days of the Pandemic. He is so involved in activities that I never imagined he would. Since arriving, he has a
new vigour, and the length of our visits can be determined by his next opportunity. That is what we want for him! Thank you to all of the team who are achieving this with him.

Connell Court is situated 5 mins from where there are quaint local shops, restaurants and tea rooms.
The resident's rooms are of a decent size, with large bay windows boasting a view of either the front or back garden. All ensuite.
Management and staff are dedicated, always friendly, helpful and efficient.
Lots of activities and themed days.
A really lovely care home.

My mother-in-law entered the home in January and she was immediately made to feel welcome.
She is very happy there with a range of activities to join in if she wants to and lovely facilities.
All the staff have been friendly and there has been very strong communication between them and the family
to keep us appraised of how she is getting on.

I stayed for 3 weeks of respite over Christmas and the new year following surgery. The food and entertainment during my stay were both excellent. The chef went to a lot of trouble with the festive menus and the dining room and communal areas was decorated beautifully. The staff were helpful and friendly.
I was glad I chose Connell Court and would happily stay there again.

The care and attention that my mother, who resides at Connell Court Care Home, is receiving from each of the carers is exceptional! Each carer expresses their personality, from one carer who shows off his dance moves, to all the other amazing carers who take time to chat and get a smile from my mother,
reassuring her if she gets anxious.

I would like to take a minute to thank all the staff at Connell Court Care Home for all the care and attention they have bestowed on my mother who has been with them since September 2020.
It has been a difficult time for people to be away from their family but the staff and residents are now Mum’s
new family.
The last two months have been particularly difficult as Mum had health problems and has just spent over three weeks in hospital.
She is now back in her lovely room, well cared for and I am able to discuss her care there in detail with several of the staff I now know well.
If it’s not good enough for their mum it’s not good enough for mine is their attitude which is exactly how it should be.
