My husband has been living at Cedar Grange Care Home for almost a year now and I am very pleased with the care he is receiving. His Alzheimer's is quite advanced and he can be difficult to manage but the staff always treat him with great kindness and tolerance.

When it became impossible to continue to care for my mother at home we decided to move her into Cedar Grange Care Home. The decision wasn't taken lightly and my 92-year-old father took it badly. We can, however, see how well she is cared for and loved by the staff who are always willing to give her
a hug and a kiss when needed. She recently celebrated her birthday and a party was thrown for her which was enjoyed by all.

I visited my mother on several occasions during July and on every occasion, she seemed happy and content which is all I can ask for.
All the staff are always polite and willing to help with anything I ask, nothing is ever too much no matter how busy they are.

Unfortunately, I had to make the decision for mum to go into a care home, Southport is full of care homes and coffee shops so I had my work cut out although mum has dementia she still has so much life left to live. Well, my daughter and I came upon Cedar Grange, well it is amazing. My lovely mum has
got her second wind! Literally, Cedar Grange caters for every individual and their own needs, dementia is such a difficult disease each person can be so different. If you are worried about making the right decision, take a look at my mum! It speaks volumes.
Massive thank you to the staff member who sends me regular photos, and updates. Thank you to the chef, who makes gorgeous meals. Thank you to the manager and her team you all do a fantastic, caring, loving job.

Mum arrived at Cedar Grange Care Home in April 2022 following a fall and fractured hip (on discharge from hospital). The manager ensured that Mum's safety and well-being were paramount. Even liaising with the hospital dementia nurse specialist to ensure that Mum had everything she needed, e.g. low-rise
bed, pressure mat etc. Since then, Mum has settled fantastically. Thanks to the Cedar Grange team.

Our family member clearly has built wonderful relationships with the team members he has come to know well, to the point that after the journey of arriving there, with all its challenge and complexity, he now looks comfortable and can rest in a place he feels safe and valued. It is such a relief to
know he won't have to move, that end of life care, when needed, will allow him to stay at home. Much appreciate the manager for taking so much time to update us. The home is beautiful, well cared for and well thought out to meet the diverse needs of those who live there.

Mum was a resident at Cedar Grange Care Home from 9th March 2021 until her death in September 2021.
I would definitely recommend this home.
The manager is extremely hardworking and very responsive, with the residents care as her main priority. The staff are lovely, they were very caring to both Mum
and the family in general. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure that Mum's last days were as comfortable as possible.

Cedar Grange provides a very secure and happy environment for my dad. The staff are kind, empathetic and ever ready to help.

I could not ask for a better place of care for my dad. The staff here I can only describe as truly magnificent. My mother has been living in Cedar Grange for several years in all this time she had been very happy, always happy on my visits, well dressed, well-groomed. The staff are always cheerful and calming always during this whole pandemic, now that I am able to visit again I can see that Cedar Granges care

From the day my husband took up residence at Cedar Grange in October 2020 he was treated with kindness, compassion and most of all care in every aspect of the word. Nothing was too much trouble whatever the question when asked. The care team treated him as if he were one of their own. He settled in
quite quickly and although we were unable to visit inside the home due to Covid - window visits were arranged with the provision of two-way speaker systems which enabled us to carry out conversations, thus keeping the contact. Sadly, he passed away in January after spending 2 weeks in hospital but as a family, we will always be grateful to everyone at Cedar Grange for all the support we received from them.

I have great admiration for the way Cedar Grange coped with the pandemic. Lockdown was managed knowledgeably, consistently and sensitively. The home adapted efficiently to constantly changing situations keeping all residents safe and contented. The staff were cheerful and imaginative in their approach
to residents well being with letters home, celebrations and a wide range of stimulating activities. They were always happy to give telephone updates and demonstrated a genuine concern for the callers well being. The management team and staff work tirelessly to ensure our loved ones have the best life possible.

Vanessa Rigby

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2000

I started my career with Cedars Care Group in 2000 when the group was in its infancy. My
initial role was as a domestic cleaner at Woodlands Manor in Southport. It was a challenging
but rewarding experience. After a few short years, I progressed from Head Housekeeper to
Housekeeping Manager, overcoming various obstacles along the way.
As the group expanded, our CEO saw in me the dedication and skills needed for the role of
Quality Assurance Manager in the new Operations team. My responsibilities include
ensuring home compliance, overseeing maintenance work, and managing projects across
the entire group, a role I take on with a steadfast commitment to quality care.
I was recently approached to take on the role of Home Manager for Cedar Grange. I didn’t
hesitate to accept, as Cedar Grange has always been a source of pride for me.  In
September 2019, I collaborated with the Operations team to assist Cedar Grange in
achieving an "Outstanding" CQC rating in responsiveness—a distinction that is not easily
attained. Furthermore, Cedar Grange received the "Best End of Life Care" award from the
Gold Standard Framework. This initial accreditation was a six-month process, during which
my team and I diligently compiled evidence to meet their 20 standards of care, resulting in a
Gold award. Upon re-accreditation, we were honoured to receive the highest possible award,
the Platinum Award. The team and the home are incredibly proud of these achievements.
It goes without saying that I am very proud of Cedar Grange. I am now happy to say I am the
manager while continuing my responsibilities with the Operations Support Team. I am
excited to lead Cedar Grange and support the team in achieving our goals. I am grateful to
Cedars Care Group for the opportunities and support that have led me to this point in my
career.

Job Title: Operational Care Manager,

Joined: 2000

My journey began in 2000, while I was still in my final year of school. I started as a weekend
worker at Ash Croft House Nursing home. After my exams, the then manager recognized
my potential and offered me a full-time position, which I gratefully accepted. This was just
the start of my career, and I am deeply thankful for the opportunities that have come my way.
I have since progressed from HCA to Floor Manager, then to Care Manager and Deputy
Manager, a testament to my ambition and drive.
In 2012, with Cedars Group's growth, our CEO created the Operational Support Team, a
crucial department that provided strategic and operational support to our care facilities. I was
offered the position of Operational Care Manager, overseeing the teams in the different
homes and ensuring the highest standards of care across the board.
My work in the care field has not only been my vocation but also gives me a great sense of
pride. It is so rewarding, and I am lucky enough to say that I love my job and the impact it
has on the lives of those we care for.
Today, I find great joy in working closely with the staff at all our homes. My role goes beyond
management; I strive to empower our staff to grow and succeed. From senior carers to
deputy managers, I encourage and support their professional development, fostering a
culture of learning and progression.
