The Allandale Care Group Ltd have provided care provision within the Heswall area for over 50 years and are well known and respected in the area.

The Croft comprises of 10 bedrooms which are spacious, bright and tastefully decorated, each room is individually styled, 8 rooms have en-suite facilities, and 2 with their own appointed separate facilities.

All rooms have ariel point, telephone socket and nurse call bell.

The Croft has a tastefully decorated, comfortable and spacious lounge and dining area.

The Croft accommodation is spread over one level.

Meals are nutritious varied and are freshly prepared by the cook special dietary requirements are catered for.

The home has a newly refurbished wet room and assisted bathroom.

The Allandale Care Group prides itself on providing the highest levels of care and support.

Lovely, caring staff.
Mum is happy and content.
I feel confident that she is well cared for and has every that she needs.
Staff work too hard - need more staff but do understand that issues with recruitment.

We feel so fortunate to have found The Croft for my mother. The staff are professional, caring and always good-humoured. They go above and beyond to attend to Mum's needs whether it's providing food that she can eat, (she has become increasingly fussy) or company and sharing a joke when she needs cheering
up. They are proactive when they think she needs medical care and keep the family up to date. They are always welcoming to the family when we visit. It is a small home so the residents get personal attention from the staff. Mum has a nice bright room that was freshly decorated before she moved in.

My father went into The Croft, in February 2020 for convalescence, following a two-week stay in hospital. Prior to this, he had been living in his own home, with assistance each day. We had considered talking to him about needing full-time care, but after two weeks in the home, he was so happy that
he decided, without any discussion, that he wanted to stay.
We, and he, have been so impressed by the level of care, attention to detail and kindness shown by all the staff in the home. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff show genuine love and care for the residents and their families. This has been especially evident through the lock-down with the Coronavirus crisis.
The food is also excellent and the activities co-ordinator and other staff do a great job in keeping interests going.
I would highly recommend the care at The Croft.

From viewing this home was fantastic. Staff from all levels friendly, caring. Chefs provide lovely, homely food and care about presentation etc. Staff ratio to patients great, always someone available. Buzzers do not buzz for long before attendance. Can't fault it, Mum so happy and well looked after.

Mum came to The Croft for two weeks respite. We chose here because of the previous reviews we had read and because all the rooms are on the ground floor and there are only 10 residents.
My mum was invited for lunch before she stayed so that she could meet the residents and staff, a nice touch which
gave her more confidence about staying.
Mum is visually impaired so she was very pleased that she received plenty of help and guidance from the wonderful and friendly staff, most of whom have worked there for some considerable time. She enjoyed ‘really good food’ especially all the desserts and has put a few extra pounds on! She also enjoyed a number of activities and entertainment.
I would like to thank all those who contributed to making Mum's stay safe and enjoyable.

I was made and felt welcome making it easy to "settle in". The atmosphere is a happy one and visitors feel welcome. Privacy is respected, the food is varied, attractively served and nourishing. My family and friends are relieved that I am settled in such a homely place and which is near my former home
and therefore easy to find with good parking.

Well, what can I say? My old friend transferred from another residential home less than 2 months ago and is so relieved he did. There is no comparison. Early days but he settled very quickly into this small, friendly and homely environment. He describes his room as ideal and has personalised it with
furniture and TV. He recognises the staff are all so friendly and caring and values the personal care and attention they give. The food is a treat (as is the occasional wine). He also values not having to fit into a set routine in terms of getting up, meals etc. I personally have had experience of a number of care homes and, so far, can't find fault with The Croft.

The Croft has provided us with invaluable support in providing care for my mother-in-law.
Our mum was very anxious about staying in a home and she was soon reassured enough to relax and become very settled.
The staff at The Croft are truly wonderful, genuine and caring.
A two-week stay for respite

My mother has been a resident at The Croft nearly 4 years and she has received exemplary care. Recently she was poorly and the staff treated her with loving kindness. They took extra care of her so she did not have to go into hospital. I am most grateful for the care she receives. The Manager is excellent
and all the staff work as a team. It is a home from home.

Whenever I have visited my friend I have been welcomed in warmly. Staff are friendly and there is a lovely atmosphere to The Croft. It feels like one big family. I would and have recommended The croft to others. Residents are treated with patience and respect by the staff. Lovely little home for those
that need it.

The Croft is a lovely, friendly place to stay. The staff are fantastic and really get to know the residents and families of residents. The care is second to none in every aspect and my mother-in-law is very happy. She is eating better than she used to and enjoys all the activities that happen daily.

Have been involved with people in this home for the past 5 years, during which a lot has been done to improve the facilities i.e toilets and washing facilities in the rooms. 5 months into her care in this home I can see real progress in my parent who is a resident here. Food is plentiful and well made. Visitors are always made a cup of tea and I can visit whenever suits which has made the transition for mum much easier. Rooms are well decorated and senior staff always responsive
when I raise questions. With only 10 rooms The Croft is a great introduction for someone new to care. Regular musician visits are really popular and the home hosts parties for special birthdays.

Having sold his portfolio in 2021, Chandler Warren enlisted his services to Allandale Care Group and dedicated his time and passion to this outstanding Charity Group. As the Chief Executive Officer of the care homes group, Chandler has surrounded himself with the most qualified and dedicated team of care home professionals available.

Joanne Evans

Job Title: General Manager

Joined: 2017

I had spent 20 years working in retail before changing career in 2013 and moving into the Health and Social care sector as a domiciliary carer. I progressed to manager of the company and within 2 years gained a Good in all areas with CQC. I completed my level 5 diploma in 2015


Moving to residential care in 2017 I became registered Manager at Heathermount where I stayed for 4 years.


During this time, the home was visited by CQC and gained a GOOD in all areas of inspection.


In 2021 I was promoted to General Manager of Allandale Care Group, and I am also the Nominated Individual with CQC.. My main duties are to oversee all regulated activities and ensure our services are well run.


In my free time, I like to listen to music, of all kinds, and I am a huge football fan, especially Liverpool FC. I have 3 Grandchildren who spend a lot of time at ‘nanny’s’ house.


I am very passionate about my job and want both homes to be the best they possibly can be so that our residents are happy, comfortable and safe. It is also important to me that our families and friends feel secure knowing that their loved ones are well cared for.

Katie Baker

Job Title: Registered Home Manager

I have 10 years of experience in the care industry. I started my career as a mental health support worker whilst I was studying a level 3 childcare and education qualification.


Whilst working as a mental health support worker I discovered my passion for providing care and support to vulnerable individuals and that I wished to progress within the health and social care sector. In the following years, I worked across several services providing care to vulnerable adults of all ages. In 2018 I was employed as a senior healthcare assistant within an elderly residential home, and I knew straight away that this is where my heart lies, I felt like I was home. In 2019 I started working towards a bachelor’s degree in health and social care whilst working full time. I initially started the degree as I have always been an avid learner and wished to enhance my knowledge in all areas of the health and social care sector. I started my career as a registered manager in early 2021, I joined Allandale Care Group as a registered manager in June 2023. During my brief time at Allandale Care Group, I have supported my team to achieve an ‘excellent’ rating when inspected by PAMMS, my team and I are enormously proud of this achievement.
I look forward to my future within Allandale Care Group.

Suzanne Middleton

Job Title: Account Manager

I have always worked in the financial background for at least 30 years. Working in different sectors of the industry I have gained numerous years of valuable experience in all fields.


I have worked on trading desks in the raw commodities industry looking after high-volume invoicing and credit control, reporting to the Directors, and dealing with our European customers. I enjoyed a period within the Sea safety industry looking after the accounts for all our offices located up and down the country and dealing with all the stock involved. I have also worked within the construction sector, which was extremely demanding and busy, looking after payroll for our subsidiary companies and dealing with CIS, and a high level of invoicing and accountancy reporting.


I have studied at college to gain my AAT Certification.


After taking a break to look after my family and raise my children, I decided I wanted to go back to work. I was approached by Allandale Care Group for an interview, I was extremely impressed with the Overall engagement with the staff and employees. No stone is left unturned, the respect and work ethos are very apparent from all. I am a compassionate person with a caring nature and did not hesitate to accept the job offer from the CEO Of Allandale Care Group and look forward to many years ahead.


In my free time, I engage in lots of activities with my family. I come from a big family and my house is always full of friends and family.

Angela Murray-Gibbs

Job Title: Care team leader

I am a Care Team Leader @ The Croft, I work the night shifts.
I have worked at The Croft for over 3 years.
I first came into care at the age of 16 years old my first ever job. I enjoyed 2 years doing this but then decided I wanted to take a different path Retail management for 35 years. Fast forward 35 years later my dad became ill and I decided to look after him. Then I moved into my mother in laws as she also became very ill and cared for her until she passed away.


Covid hit, I realised I wanted to give something back to the care industry and I've never looked back since. I was fortunate to get myself a job at the Croft. I am very passionate about my role and enjoy caring, sitting with the residents and most of all listening to their stories and their needs.


Coming home after a 12-hour shift knowing that I've made someone happy by just doing what I love is the most rewarding job ever, I wouldn't change it for the world.


In my free time, I love to dine out, walk my dog Coco and taking holidays abroad.

Working in care is a very rewarding job, I joined Allandale 3 years ago where I work as a care team leader. Allandale is a very person-centred care home and our residents are at the heart of everything that we do. It is not just a job we are all a family. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and looking after my grandson.

I chose to become a care assistant because working with elderly people has always been a passion of mine, and it deepened ever since I cared for my mum during the final months of her life, whilst it was difficult at the time I understood it wasn’t about how I felt, it was about how my mum felt. I aimed to ensure that she was comfortable, not in pain, comforted and overall someone who was there for her. This is why I feel that working alongside people who struggle for various reasons whether it be age or illness and helping them feel independent again is something I hold close to my heart.


Being a care assistant who can provide physical and emotional support to those in need, being a good listener, a good team member, and being a listening ear to not only the residents but their families as well if they need to talk, and being the reassurance, they need when they are scared. Being able to share their happy memories with them and creating more happy experiences for them when they may believe it is no longer possible is what I aim to achieve. That within itself is one of the main reasons why I am passionate about this type of work, being able to give back to people who have helped people throughout their lives is a small token of appreciation to me.


I joined Allandale Care Group in 2019 as a night care assistant, and since then I have developed my skills and knowledge with support from everyone from care staff to management. I have been given the opportunity to take on the role of Care team Leader which I am immensely proud of. I can only thank the Management for this as the support they have given me and continue to have only helped me grow within my role.
