Please book visits with the home by phone. Visitors will be asked for evidence of a negative LFT upon entry, however, if visiting regularly, they need only test twice per week. Unless visitors have an exemption certificate they are asked to wear a mask at all times within the home along with any other PPE provided by the team upon entry. Please speak to the manager if a loved one may be distressed by visitors wearing a mask.
When departing please wash hands before heading to the reception area.
Please do not visit if feeling unwell, even if fully vaccinated and have tested negative for Covid. Visitors may resume visiting 5 days after feeling better following symptoms like cough, cold, high temperature, diarrhoea, vomiting, etc.
Please Note: Internal visits may be cancelled without notice if directed by the local authority should a Covid outbreak occur. However, pre-arranged essential and end-of-life visitors are exempted, and all others may visit externally using the booking system.

My grandfather had chronic back pain plus osteoarthritis, unable to walk unassisted. Staff were considerate, willing to help in any way they can. He was treated with care and respect talked through any problems.

Sonia Aldridge Manager of Grovewood. I have worked in the care sector for over 13 years starting as a housekeeper and shortly afterward going into a care role as a health care assistant. I then did my NVQ level 3 and was promoted to a senior role. I wanted to gain more experience and then I did my level 5 Diploma in leadership for health and social care in 2017. I joined the Grovewood team in October 2020 and was a night manager until I was then promoted to the manager's role.

Kerry is the new Deputy Manager at Grovewood. She believes that to be good in her role, one should be of polite disposition with a caring and supportive nature. Good communication and listening skills are important as well as time management and the ability to work under pressure. To be proactive and at times multi-task. Always smile.
The best part of her day is when a resident stops for a chat. She has great respect for the elderly and she loves to hear about their life experiences.
