Despite Mum's resistance to going into a care home, I think given more time before she died and under more normal circumstances, (without the restrictions of Coivd lockdown). She would have settled very happily here. The staff and management were always very friendly and welcoming to us all, and I feel
they treated their residents like their own family.

I am so happy with the treatment my father gets from all the staff. The staff are wonderful, and the home is absolutely beautiful. I cannot fault Salisbury House in any way at all over the past 6-years. I am sad I cannot be with my dad, but I know he is treated as a family member, and I send all my
love and thanks to the staff. I don't know what I would do without them. When my time comes, I will be choosing here.

My 92-year-old mother was admitted to Salisbury House care home on September 1st 2020. Due to covid-19 restrictions, I was unable to visit him, but the staff kept us well informed, and I know he was well looked after and cared for by all the wonderful staff in some difficult situations. Owing to my
father's disabilities and dementia, until he was admitted to hospital (not covid-19 related) in November 2020 where he passed away. God bless you all, without exception, the most caring people I know.

My Mum has been in Salisbury House for over 2 years. She is very happy here and myself and the entire family are very grateful for the fantastic care she receives. They have kept COVID out of the home and it has been a great relief to know she is safe and cared for. The staff and management really do
care about the residents. I would not hesitate in recommending Salisbury House as safe, kind and caring environment for your loved ones.

The care and kindness that has been shown to Mum throughout her stay at Salisbury House, particularly since the death of Dad in May, has been wonderful. All staff get to know the residents and treat them with respect. Mum (and Dad) we’re always clean and smart. I have been kept well informed of all
aspects of Mum’s care. Cleanliness in the House is exemplary. It has been a relief to me that both Mum and Dad were well looked after - safe and secure.

Salisbury House is a very caring and welcoming home; the staff and management are so approachable, kind, professional and very experienced. Dad was very well looked after during the time he was a resident, staff got to know him well, and he was always smart. Everything was well organised, and as a family,
we were kept well informed about his health and well being. The activities provided for residents are varied, and dad loved the trips out. The management and staff are doing a great job during the 'lockdown' period, and we used Skype to keep in touch with dad. Sadly dad recently passed away, but the staff were so caring with both him and the family; he was treated with respect and dignity. There was always a happy atmosphere when we visited. I highly recommend Salisbury House to care for your loved one.

Dad was fully blind and of limited mobility. I thought when trying to find a care home for him a few years back that no one would be prepared to take him on. A friend had recommended Salisbury House and that was my first port of call and they had no hesitation. Having seen how Salisbury House is run
I can see why. The grounds, facilities, caring friendly staff, lovely food and happy atmosphere were just what Dad and his family needed in his final years. I cannot overstate how fantastic this care home is.

I'd like to thank all the team at Salisbury House. My mum joined 'Salisbury House family' as a resident in February 2019 and she couldn't be happier. She is very happy, well cared for, always looks clean, tidy and well nourished. There are regular visits from the local doctor (if needed), hairdressers,
etc.
The owners are lovely, very 'hands on' and regularly there.
I cannot praise the staff enough - always smiling and so lovely with the residents. We regularly call to see how mum is and it is never any trouble to bring mum to the phone to talk to.
Mum has a shared room with another lady and I think this has been the making of her as she has made some lovely friends.
There is a regular calendar of events every month from pub outings to visits around the Wirral in the Home's minibus. There are regular fundraising events and I have to praise the Activities Team who provide regular entertainment for the residents.
I cannot recommend Salisbury House enough.

A lovely homely place with caring staff for a very reasonable price. There are enough staff to be able to care for clients very quickly. Food looks and smells really good. Plenty of opportunities to join groups in music, crafts, cards, bingo. news, reading, head massage etc, etc, but also a quiet lounge
for those who prefer a snooze. Minibus well used for outings. Towards the end of her life, a care plan was put in place for Mum to ensure that in most circumstances she could stay in the home. She died peacefully here.

The family and I have been thrilled with the quality of experience we have had over my Mum (who has had dementia since 2011) since she lost all capacity for decision making, whilst still in sheltered accommodation. Salisbury House was our first choice, and rightly so as it has turned out. The atmosphere
and ethos was professional as well as friendly, which seemed to be the case on a preliminary visit. She was welcomed into day care pending the availablilty of residential status, and that time was used to gently ease her in to the routines and style of the place, as well as providing a level of personal care which she had not received elsewhere. At the time of writing, she has been in as a resident for just over two weeks, and the change in her has far exceeded all our hopes. The staff treat her as an individual deserving of dignity, she loves the activities which are well organised and enthusiastically led, she is so positive about the food - and she/we could not be happier.

From the moment I entered Salisbury House I felt a sense of calm professionalism. The staff are so kind to the residents. There is a varied activity each day. My mum was so well cared for and always clean and tidy and staff were courteous and treated her with dignity. My mum spoke about how kind the
staff were. Sadly my mum passed away and the staff were not only very caring, kind and professional with her but with us as well.

Salisbury House is warm and welcoming. The home has a cheerful, homely atmosphere.
Residents are treated like members of their own family which included my mum who was in respite care.
The family-run home has a ‘hands-on’ management, their choice of staff reflecting their high standards.
I cannot
thank the staff enough for their support and care given to my mum, during a very difficult time.
My mum passed away on the 10th July in hospital. My mum's treatment and care from the manager and each care worker was professional, caring, patient and efficient.
Thank you for all your personal help and support.

I cannot thank Salisbury House its management and staff enough for the support and care given to my aunt and the family during a very difficult time. The support and care given was over and above anything expected. She was treated with love, care and respect at all times in a very homely comfortable

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.776)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.776) out of 10 for Salisbury House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.876 for Salisbury House is calculated as follows: ( (93 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.876

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Salisbury House is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 37 registered maximum number of service users is 7.4, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
