My father entered Sandtoft March 2020 prior to Covid related lockdown. He has complex health issues and suffers from mobility problems.
He is very happy at Sandtoft and enjoys a better quality of life than he did at his own home.
Covid restrictions meant that my mother was unable to visit him and
after a period of separation and as she was also suffering from some medical and mobility issues she made the decision to join him in Sandtoft.
She echoes his sentiments and adds that she feels "safe" at Sandtoft which she did not when living alone.
Both have large well-equipped rooms with en-suite toilets and washbasins and both have views out to sea.
Both are very happy with the food quality although my father complains that there is too much just before eating it all.
As they have been married for 66 years it is delightful to see them together again holding hands while both fast asleep in the conservatory!

My dear friend has just returned from a short stay at Sandtoft Care Home. She speaks very highly of the home, the staff and the manager.
Despite having to quarantine she was made to feel welcome and was given items to keep her entertained.
My friend especially praised the choice and quality of food.
She was pleased to have en-suite and sea views!!

My mother was in Sandtoft for almost six years, and over that time I became very familiar with the home under three managers. It was absolutely superb. If I had to choose a home for another close and loved relative, Sandtoft would be my choice. The best asset of Sandtoft is its wonderful staff, who
I got to know well. They treated their job more as a vocation and cared for residents as if they were close family members. I never visited the home without finding my mother, who had dementia, happy and smiling. Every member of staff was a joy to work with. Care, compassion, and pride in their work were truly remarkable. Cleanliness could not be faulted. Surfaces were immaculate and there was never a trace of an unpleasant odour. The caring kitchen staff also deserve praise. My mother's room was small, but she did not need anything larger, and it had very good wifi (not important to her, but possibly for a family member, and certainly for me when I had to sit at her bedside).

My Mum has been a resident of Sandtoft for a few years she arrived following a lengthy hospital stay. She was diagnosed with vascular dementia, registered blind, very confused and depressed. The early months for the staff and myself were very challenging, Mum was constantly trying to escape back to
her former home, the staff were extremely caring and patient with her and emergency safeguards were implemented to protect Mum's safety.
The staff are well led by their Manager, up to date with their training, with knowledge of residents needs, appointments, likes and dislikes, they are very caring treating everyone with respect and dignity like their own family, often going the extra mile for them. Extended family are always made to feel welcome, everyone knows you and they provide support to you if needed. We are kept informed of any health issues visits from G.P. nurses or sudden hospital admissions.
I know Mum is happy, safe and well cared for in such a happy homely care home.

Suffering from various health issues including dementia, Mum moved into Sandtoft Care Home for her own safety. Arriving in poor health, the attention and care given to her by staff and where necessary community Gp’s and nurses, Mum’s overall health improved. Her medical issues are attended to promptly
and any areas of concern are dealt with, with family members informed.

The staff are all well trained and know what their tasks are and complete them efficiently, confidentiality and with and good humour, while showing residents dignity and respect. They all have a good working relationship with residents and know their individual needs. Staff also know residents extended families and always ask how they are, offering support to us all as well to the residents. Visitors are always welcome, as they would have been at home.

During the time that she has been at Sandtoft Care Home, we know that not only is Mum now safe but that she is also cared for by all the staff at the home.
