My elderly friend moved into Brookfield House 12 months ago, she soon settled in, is happy there and has been very well cared for since. All the staff are professional, very caring and kind. We are kept well informed if there are any health concerns and are confident that all her health and social needs
are being met. During this difficult year of the pandemic, the staff have gone to great lengths to keep the residents safe whilst still continuing to make their lives as enjoyable as possible, for which we will always be grateful. We’ve enjoyed many telephone and online video chats which have been invaluable whilst we haven’t been able to visit.
I'd like to thank all the staff for the love and care shown to my friend and would have no hesitation in recommending Brookfield House as a care home.

My Mum spent seven wonderful years as a resident at Brookfield House. She went to live there in June 2013 after being discharged from the hospital. Mum had lost a lot of weight as a result of her illness but went from strength to strength in a very short time.
I have to say that over the seven years
she spent at Brookfield House, I never worried about her as she received excellent care.
There obviously have been staff changes over the years but this has not impacted on the care she received. All the carers, housekeeping and maintenance staff have always been very friendly and supportive, not only to the residents but family members as well. Brookfield House fees may not be the most expensive care home in the county but the care the residents receive and the friendly happy atmosphere is second to none.
My mum celebrated a wonderful 100th birthday in October 2019 organised by the staff and enjoyed by everyone. A very happy and contented and well-loved lady was my Mum.

My Mum has been a resident at Brookfield House, Nantwich, for well over 2 years. After the trauma of her deteriorating mentally and physically at home, then having to spend months in hospital, it was a sheer relief when she was accepted into Brookfield House. She settled down immediately and has always
been so happy there. The staff are so hard-working and are amazing with the residents.
It is a very difficult time for families when a loved one has to go into a care facility, but personally I feel so grateful to all the lovely staff for the way they all look after my Mum. I have no worries now because I know she is getting the best out of her life and, if there ever are any issues, I get a phone call straight away. Their communication is excellent.
I would recommend Brookfield House with no hesitation.

My Dad went to live at Brookfield House in February 2017 after a long stay in the hospital. He was able to choose his room, complete with his own en-suite facilities.
We moved him in, complete with many personal items so that it became home.
Very soon he began to put weight back on, due to the
regular three meals a day not to mention the many cups of tea and cakes and biscuits that the residents receive every day. Carers were always popping in to him, to see if he needed anything and just to check on him.
My Dad had dementia, and when he returned from his last visit to the hospital, he was bed-bound and became very ill almost immediately.
The staff were absolutely amazing, there is no other word to describe their care, their compassion, their love for my Dad.
The last couple of days were particularly difficult for everyone, and even though he was unable to take fluids at all, they maintained his oral care and brushed his teeth and looked after him as if he was their Dad.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.266)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.266) out of 10 for Brookfield House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.880 for Brookfield House is calculated as follows: ( (73 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.88

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.386 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brookfield House is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 51 registered maximum number of service users is 10.2. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.2 = 0.686

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
