When I visit my mum in the home, the staff are friendly and helpful. Also, the staff have a good friendship with my mum. The home is clean. I sometimes have my lunch with Mum, the food is always nice.

Our mum has been in Hillcrest for over 12 months now and in that time we have found the home, caring, friendly and when we visit mum it's like only visiting her like it's her home.
The staff is also friendly and always answers questions wherever possible! They go out of their way to help! The manager
is always understanding and willing to listen.

My father has been in Hillcrest for just over 2 months and although Dad has advanced vascular dementia, he is settling in well. The staff are so patient and kind - which is the reason I placed Dad there in the first place and I know he is being well looked after.

My mother has now lived at Hillcrest residential home for a year. I have been extremely impressed by the level of care she has received. All the staff are very kind and caring; there is always laughter when we visit. The food is just right for Mum's age group. The activities are frequent and varied.
I was dreading the day that we would need to use a care home, but Mum is actually much happier since she went there. I think that all of this is down to the amazing management of the home. The manager and her deputy have thought of everything and have systems in place to ensure excellent care throughout.

My dad went into Hillcrest for respite whilst his house had building work done. The care from all carers has been exceptional, nothing has been too much trouble for them. My dad did not mix with other residents as he has all his facilities and is on oxygen 24/7 so requested to stay in his room which
was no trouble at all. Excellent staff could not have wished for a better place for our dad to go. He has enjoyed being there and stays himself. The care is tremendous, he wasn't fussed about the food there but he is a basic eater and only tends to have one meal a day.

My mum went into Hillcrest from hospital initially on respite care.
She has settled so well and is so well cared for she is now a full-time resident.
The manager and her team have been so helpful and friendly in helping us make this transition for Mum.
All the staff are fantastic and nothing is too
much trouble. We feel very welcome when we visit Mum.
As I live out of the area it is great to know when I can't visit that Mum is safe and well cared for.

Mum was a resident at Hillcrest Care Home for five and a half years, dying peacefully in what myself and my sister had come to see as her second home. We feel that we were very lucky to have secured her a place here where she was happy and was able to form good relationships with staff and residents
alike.
The strength of Hillcrest is undoubtedly the caring, dedicated staff team with little staff turnover and an effective management group.
Residents are treated with warmth, respect and care. Thinking back, I can't remember visiting without hearing laughter somewhere in the home. We cannot praise the care mum received enough, staff always willing to do that little bit extra.
Encouraging to see younger members of staff being brought into the team. The compassion shown to us when Mum was fading helped us a great deal and during the last weeks of her life we were able to visit and were well supported.
Hillcrest offers genuine, personal care from a team of experienced professionals.

Mum was at Hillcrest for three years, following a stroke and dementia. From the start Mum and the family were made to feel welcome and at home. Mum's room was always clean and well kept and although a little dark, this was perfectly suited to Mum. The food was varied, fresh, good quality and plenty
of it. Fish and chips on a Friday was Mum's ultimate favourite!
Mum's life was hugely enriched at Hillcrest and she loved getting involved in the activities. These included, encounters with giant snails and therapy dogs to dancing to live bands, various group visits, keep fit, afternoon teas and trips to places in Frodsham, Chester and further afield. She loved being pampered, getting her nails done or her hair.
Care given by staff and manager was excellent. They always involved us and kept us informed, nothing was too much trouble; they were Mum's second family. In Mum's final days she was cared for with massive love, compassion, dignity and respect. We cannot speak highly enough of them.

I cannot recommend Hillcrest highly enough. The staff and management are the most caring and compassionate people I have ever known. It is spotlessly clean and every resident is treated with the utmost dignity. When mum passed away they went over and above to ensure she was peaceful. The food is of
the highest standard. A wonderful home, with wonderful staff. Thank you.

My mother was a resident from January 2008 until she died at Hillcrest peacefully in her sleep on 27th of October 2019 at the age of 91. Throughout her almost 12 years at Hillcrest initially in the residential section and latterly in the dementia unit, she was looked after excellently by a group of
very caring staff, led by a small management team. Her ongoing and changing needs were always catered for, and as a family, we were always consulted on the best way forward. We can not praise everyone in the Hillcrest team enough foe the dignified care they gave Mum.

My 90-year-old Father was extremely lucky to spend the last 3 months of his life in such a warm, friendly and caring environment. Moving Dad from his own home into a care home after 60 years in his own home was always going to be difficult for both him and the family but they ensured the transition
was as smooth as it could be. Dad didn't suffer from dementia but his body physically prevented him from being at home anymore and having viewed other homes in the area, Dad chose here immediately, as he said it felt cosy and not clinical and more like a hotel. Dad had a lovely room with big bay window and lovely views.
The Manager and all the staff could not have done more for Dad to make him feel safe and loved and I would recommend to anyone, needing to move out of their own home.

My friend could not have spent her last three and a half years in a better place. The manager and her team provided her with safety, warmth, affection, and the highest standards of care, all carried out with the greatest of good humour. So many times on my twice weekly visits I would enter the home
to the sound of laughter from residents and staff, the atmosphere was second to none. My friend loved her food and she was delighted by the quality of meals at Hillcrest. I could see from her very first days that they always tried to give her the things she told them she enjoyed.
The staff are all extremely well trained and professional and they make a big effort to adapt their caring styles to suit each individual resident's personality. The staff turnover rate is very low, which speaks volumes about both the working environment at Hillcrest and the commitment the staff make to their careers in dementia care. The actual building itself also adds to the homely, comfortable atmosphere.

My cousin entered Hillcrest in 2008 and remained there until her death in October 2018. Over this entire period, the care she receives was of the highest standard, with very low staff turnover. She knew them all and they her. At her death, staff were with her and the home arranged a remembrance party
for family, friends and staff alike.

Hardest week of my life seeing my grandmother in a home. But I’m 100% happy it’s this one! She is smiling, laughing, singing and she’s clean. She had her hair done and has finally had a good nights sleep! Three hot meals a day with veg or fruit etc, as many brews as she wants. We can visit whenever
we want, we also take her out when we want! Her room is lovely with a really nice view and the staff are just amazing. The only thing I would say is maybe the ladies or gentleman whose eyesight is not so good, should maybe have a few more things provided to them as they are blind or hard of sight. Other than that I have no complaints, just positive feedback! Thanks, everyone, for looking after my Nan (my best friend).

My mum was accommodated on a respite basis and then ended up staying for nearly one year. The manager and home were very supportive and flexible on admission and she soon became relatively settled, making a good friend of one of the other residents. Over the year the amount of activities seemed to increase
and towards the end of her stay they appeared to be fairly frequent. All the staff were kind and supportive, responding to my mum's unpredictable moods and behaviour.


In relation to staff, all were good but some were excellent and went above and beyond expectations. We were never asked to input into a care plan or review which would have been useful.


When my mum left the home to move to somewhere closer to us, again the manager and staff were very understanding and supportive - this was greatly appreciated.

Lorraine's exceptional organisational skills are a cornerstone of her management style, ensuring that every aspect of Hillcrest runs smoothly and efficiently. Julie Wade

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Julie has been a cornerstone of Hillcrest for an impressive 17 years, working her way up to the role of Deputy Manager. Before joining our team, Julie was a childminder, a role that allowed her to balance her professional life with her family's needs. Her experience in caring for children, some as young as three months old, has instilled in her a deep-rooted understanding of nurturing and compassionate care.


Her long tenure at Hillcrest is a testament to the home's welcoming and homely environment, a quality that Julie cherishes deeply. It's this sense of warmth and familiarity that has made Hillcrest not just a workplace, but a second home for her. Julie believes in treating our residents with the same love and care as if they were her own family, a philosophy that resonates throughout our home.


Outside of work, Julie enjoys spending quality time with her grandchildren and her two beloved West Highland Terriers. These personal joys bring balance to her life, enriching her ability to provide empathetic and heartfelt care to our residents.


In her role as Deputy Manager, Julie's knowledge of each resident's care needs is unparalleled. She works closely with the Registered Manager, assisting in organising staff rotas, coordinating training courses, and managing the myriad of day-to-day tasks that are crucial for the smooth running of Hillcrest. Her attention to detail and her commitment to excellence ensure that our residents receive the best possible care.
