Hope Green Care Home made my mother so welcome at a time when we had suffered a sudden family bereavement. The staff all showed genuine concern for her health and well-being and ensured that she was able to settle into the routine with minimum stress and anxiety.

Hope Green care home is an amazing and homely place. My mother recently stayed there and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. She liked the staff, the visiting dog and the food. Staff really looked after her especially when she did not feel well.

What a lovely care home Hope Green is. My great aunt is well looked after and her new room is lovely in the new part of the home overlooking the garden. The cleaners are what you would expect in a hotel and the food provided is a real treat. At a weekend one of the staff brings her little dog in and
the tenants there really do welcome this and all smile.

Pleasant little care home in a lovely area caring for people very well. The home is warm and cosey and has no smells unlike some I have been in over the years. The staff are nice and welcoming.

I visited Hope Green on Christmas day this year. I must say it was an absolute pleasure to visit my sister in law. On arrival at Hope Green, I was met by Father Christmas who I then found out was the manager of the care home who was visiting to see the residents and to give them a small Christmas day
gift. The atmosphere was lovely. The home was warm, clean and most of all I could smell the Christmas dinner which was extremely nice. The staff had festive clothing on. They were full of smiles and were singing with residents as they passed through the home. One of the staff was dressed as an elf and had the most infectious personality I have seen for a long time. She was accompanying the manager to residents bedrooms with their presents and taking photographs of residents with Santa and asking families if they wished for a photograph which will be a cherished memory I am sure. My sister in law commented that the staff look after her well and the food is good.

I was very happy with the standard of care at the home. The staff were very helpful, caring and professional, when I raised concerns about my Mum's health a Doctor was immediately arranged for her. It was good for me not to have all the responsibility of caring for her and to have a rest and to be
able to trust the staff. The home was always clean, there was always staff around and available. It had a very positive vibe. In previous places we have been, you quite often could not find staff. The home was nicely decorated and secure, my Mother's room was very nice, it had everything she needed. The staff assessed my Mother and put a mat at the side of her bed so that if she got up an alarm went off in the night. Really very happy about the care she received, so much so that if we do decide she needs full-time care, then she will hopefully be returning to Hope Green. Thank you to all the staff.

I came to visit a friend who has been there for some time. I was impressed by the staff who went out of the way to ensure that my friend was comfortable and needed nothing. They have a great range of activities so no boredom, always something going on that they can join in if they want. I spent all
day here and was offered drinks throughout the day and was included in lunch. The food was amazing with lots of choice, a wide variety of options and we both felt very spoilt. My friend's room was beautifully decorated with a view of the pretty gardens from her window. The staff could not do enough and the home was clean and tidy.

I noticed visitors were made welcome and greeted with a smile from the staff. I fleetingly met the manager and again he was polite and very busy, chatting and laughing with the people who call this beautiful place their home. I was only a visitor but happy to have been. It was reassuring to see it well run and not like I expected.

When I go to visit my two friends, I feel happy. They are comfortable and well cared for. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful to me and the residents. It must be very hard to run a care home but they do a great job at Hope Green Care Home.

Extremely pleased with every aspect of care afforded to my sister throughout her total stay at Hope Green. Both my eldest sister and I agree that the quality of care has been special and individual attention at all times.

My friend has slow dementia. He is 86 years old (his sons are unable to help much; no time) but active.
My friend moved into Hope Green in February 2016 and settled down. The staff are cheerful and kind. As a visitor, I am welcome to call in any time and if I arrive before midday, I am offered a meal
to have with my friend in his room. The dining rooms are particularly pleasant, with white cloths, nice cutlery, drinking glasses (like a good hotel). My friend is able to go outdoors and sit in the garden on benches (he has to access the 'pass' number at the entrance). There is a pleasant lounge with a conservatory and activities.
Staff help him when he needs to use the telephone.

The Hope Green staff are all caring, helpful, supportive and seem genuinely interested in all the resident's well-being. The building and grounds have recently been refurbished so seems very clean and comfortable.

Mum has been in Hope Green for 8 years and is nearly 100 years old. Staff are always ready to help and please. Care given is always first class.
The resident manager and assistant are always there and ready to help. Activities good but need more.
Mum is always treated with dignity.
Overall the standard
is excellent. The home was recently refurbished to an excellent standard, the only downside is not all the chairs are high back.

My mother entered Hope Green in June 2015 after a spell in hospital. She settled in very quickly and soon established a friendly relationship with the staff. The quality of care she received was excellent and I found them sympathetic, cheerful and helpful. In her last illness the staff checked on her
frequently and made 100% effort to see that her last few days were as comfortable as possible.
Thank you the the Manager and all the staff for making my mum's last few months relaxed and enjoyable. I must say that she particularly relished the 'full English' served in her room every morning saying it set her up for the day!

After my mother fell in her bedroom the staff were very caring and efficient in calling an ambulance and taking care of her. They informed me straight away. When she returned they again settled her in quickly.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.256)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.256) out of 10 for Hope Green Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.100 for Hope Green Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (17 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.1

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.156 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hope Green Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.8 = 0.556

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
