Mum looks 10-years younger since entering The Laurels. Medication is now regular, which was hit and miss when at home. Staff are magnificent and can't do enough for her. Even through Covid, they tried their best to let me see my mum.

I find the biggest downfall is food. Very often, Mum eats very little as she either doesn't like the food or is fed up with having the same food. Sunday teatime is the worst.

Really cannot fault anything. My mother in law has been here at the Laurels since September 2021and is well cared for. The staff are very friendly and attentive and my mother in law loves chatting with them. She looks healthy and always well presented. My mother in law joins in with activities, and
when we see photos of her joining in we can see that she is happy. Thank you to all the staff and managers at the Laurels who are always very welcoming when we visit.

My Mum has been at The Laurels for a short time and already feels at home. She sounds happy and content - so quickly. It's unbelievable. I've been so worried Mum would be distressed and upset. It made my day to chat with her this morning, she sounded so happy. The staff I have been in contact with,
have been so lovely and accommodating, it's made this stressful transition so much easier. Thank you to all the staff for your input and help. We couldn't do this without caring people, like you. The Laurels has the appearance of an outdated care home, do not be deceived by appearances.
The care given by all the staff was superb. I spent a lot of time with my mother and only observed kind and supportive staff across the board.
I may not have chosen The Laurels on appearance but could not have
chosen better care.

My nanny was at The Laurels Care Home between October 2019 and February 2020. During her short stay here she was very well cared for. The staff always made us feel very welcome and ensured that my nanny was comfortable. She was well-fed, nicely dressed and the staff regularly interacted with her. The
home planned activities for the residents to keep them entertained and happy.

Generally, I am very happy with the level of care that my mother receives. However, I do think that the staff should wear their name badges at all times as there have been a number of occasions when this has not been the case. This has lead to my mother being confused when trying to get the staff's
attention. It would also aid visitors recognition of staff on duty. Staff go above and beyond to ensure my mother's needs are met.

Overall I am happy with my mother's care at The Laurels. Sometimes I don't think there are enough staff on - there is often no staff about when I go! The staff are friendly and generally helpful but I feel they leave Mum to her own devices too much at times, even though I know she can be awkward - I
would like to see more interaction with her.
Also - more activities needed for the residents.

My mum has been in The Laurels dementia unit for 6 months and whilst not appearing to realise where she is, always seems content, recently informing me that she has decided she will be staying there and not going home! The staff are excellent, very hardworking and helpful and caring to the residents.
They are always patient and understanding with mum and assist her when needed. They will also keep me informed of how she is coping when I visit and I can always speak with them if I have any concerns. The management are also very approachable and I was surprised at the patient knowledge when I needed to ask advice recently.
The home is always clean and tidy. There are a lot of events and activities being organised and although my mum is unable to understand some of them, the staff always involve her when they feel it would be of benefit to her. Facilities are good with regular visits from the hairdresser and chiropodist. Comfortable surroundings help residents to feel they are at home.

Have found the home very accommodating. Wife goes for daycare twice a week, lunch and tea with shower between. Flexible on times of coming and going. Other days if required. Home is clean tidy, no smell. Wife is agitated on my leaving but calms when picked up. I have had a meal or snack from time to
time, good. Domestic, admin, care staff all speak well. Other residents look cared for and clean. When wife's needs full-time care, hope there is a place for her.

Mum was a resident for nearly 3 years at The Laurels and from our very first visit and throughout her time there we were made to feel very welcome by all of the staff. The level of care our Mum received was wonderful and Mum was always happy and smiling. Sadly our Mum passed away in May. We are so grateful
that Mum had such a lovely place with such caring people. We would like to thank The Laurels also for the amazing kindness and support given to all of the family at this sad time.

My wife has now been a resident at The Laurels (Cherry Household Dementia unit) for over 6 months now and I can confidently say that the Laurels is an excellent care home. What really makes The Laurels so good is quite simply the staff that that work there. Since 22nd August 2016 when my wife arrived
I have visited her every day and on every occasion, I have been welcomed so warmly by the staff and also asked how I am. The staff work tirelessly and with great care and compassion for the residents and I have witnessed first hand some loving care and affection many times. Residents are always clean and healthy and their rooms are cleaned every day. The whole home is extremely clean and is a credit to the cleaning staff that work there. The one key thing is that my wife is very happy there and it has also become my 2nd home. The care my wife has received so far has given her a new lease of life. I cannot recommend The Laurels highly enough and actually now feel lucky we found it.

The staff are always pleasant and helpful and attend to the residents very well. There does seem to be a shortage of staff at some peak times but they cope well with all the tasks they have. The rooms are nice and always kept clean and tidy. The food and dining area are good with a varied menu each
day.

My mum has been a resident in The Laurels for 2 years. She is lovingly cared for with nothing being too much trouble and most importantly, she is very happy. All the staff love her and the kindness they show go way beyond what is expected of their roles. They treat Mum as they would their own Grandmother
and that says it all. There is a lot of shared laughter and singing and dancing! All the staff know Mum and greet her with joy and tenderness which shows what a lovely team the staff are, obviously involving everyone who works there in all aspects of care. I am so grateful that Mum is in such a wonderful place and leave after each visit with a feeling of contentment. Thank you again for all that you do. All the staff are like a family. There is a genuine bond between them all, making a happy home for the residents.

My wife has been suffering from Dementia for approx 6 years and in October 2015 I visited the Laurels with my sons with a view that when a room became available I would apply. As soon as we entered the building we were put at ease the staff were very friendly and helpful and showed us all we needed
to see. My wife was accepted and has been with them for seven months, the care and understanding shown to her has been excellent and I cannot praise the staff and management too highly. I would recommend the Laurels without reservation.
