Richmond Villages Nantwich is proud to offer the very best in residential, respite, palliative and end of life care within an award-winning retirement village that also offers independent and assisted living apartments set in four and a half acres of landscaped gardens.

Residential care is provided at a weekly fee, dependent on each person's support requirements. Long stay, respite, convalescence and day care are all offered within the care home.

Richmond Villages Nantwich also offers a wide range of on-site facilities including a dedicated Care Home Restaurant (The Alpine Suite), The Garden Room Village Restaurant, elegant sitting rooms, a hairdressing salon and beautician, landscaped gardens and a Bowling Green. Care Home residents can invite guests to join them for lunch by reserving a table in the Garden Room Restaurant where private parties can also be catered for.

The 41-bed residential Care Home's rooms are all en-suite with electric profiling bed, TV, telephone and Wi-Fi access. Some rooms enjoy patios or balconies overlooking the gardens.

Residents are supported to live a healthy and happy life in the very best environment with a dedicated and highly skilled care team. There is a full-time activities team, a large hospitality team, maintenance team, gardeners and full-time drivers who can take you to local health appointments or to the local towns and shops on scheduled trips.

I have spent several periods of convalescence and respite care in Richmond Nantwich since January 2010. At all times I have been completely satisfied with the care, attention and friendliness from the members of staff at every level. It cannot be faulted in any degree. The standard of furnishing, catering
and cleanliness cannot be improved upon. It is a care home par excellence.

Richmond Village is our first experience of a care home for our father, who, several months ago, went from living completely independently to requiring residential care, almost overnight. The accommodation and atmosphere at Richmond Village has pleasantly surprised us all, feeling more like a hotel
than a care home and making the abrupt transition from independence to care considerably less stressful than anticipated. Staff throughout seem extremely attentive and friendly, able to spend time as required with the residents, and treating them with dignity and interest; it is a relief to feel our father is in such caring and competent hands. We don't know where we'd have been without them. Visiting is a pleasure; we are always made very welcome and staff appear to know our father well. The warm and friendly atmosphere, level of care, and the comfortable and attractive environment are greatly appreciated by both our father, as a resident, and us, his family.

My second visit was again very pleasant, everyone was very friendly and helpful when necessary. My one issue was, it was on the lovely sunny side, which unfortunately resulted in me having the curtains drawn on most days. On my previous visit (June 2018) I was in a room at the end of a corridor, where
the light was ideal for my eyesight. I shall request this, if available, on future visits. My only issues on my last visit were the waste bins were not always emptied and occasionally the bed was unmade.

Mum stayed for one week's respite care. It was her first time away from home and she was very apprehensive. Richmond Village couldn't have done more to make her feel at home including breakfast in her room (at any time) if she wanted. Mum is a fussy eater, however, the food was first class and a homely
touch was the various sweet snacks left out for the residents to take at any time. There were varied activities which were optional and she did join in more than we expected. We are now looking for a magic painting kit to use at home. The room was comfortable if slightly on the small side but perfectly adequate for one week's stay. We would go back to Richmond and would definitely recommend.

My mum recently had one week's respite at Richmond Nantwich. She loved it and the staff were so kind. The only issue was she was only showered twice in seven days. I did speak to one of the carers looking after my mum and she said she had asked my mum if she wanted a shower and she said no. My mum has
dementia which obviously the staff were aware of. We did point out at her assessment you have to take control of some things eg 'yes you are having a shower'. It was during a very hot period of July. Perhaps more training on dementia?

Although the Richmond experience comes at a premium compared to other care homes in Nantwich at the time, this is the only one we felt Mother would be comfortable in. The support and activities were excellent, always encouraging the residents to participate. Although the room was a bit cramped, careful
arrangement of the furniture improved this and all rooms appear to have full toilet/wetroom. Lovely gardens.

The care and attention given to each individual resident is of an extremely high standard. Residents never feel rushed and are treated with kindness and affection. Nothing is too much trouble and all staff, from the cleaners to management, will always strive to ensure my mum is looked after and all
her needs are met. There are lots of activities to socialise without anyone having to sit round the edge of a large room watching TV. Lots of lovely relaxing areas making it home from home.

My wife and I went from one care home to another for a change of scenery. We found the staff very caring and friendly. We could have wished for more communal activities to share with other residents and be stimulated rather than left to our own devices - watching T.V.

My 81-year-old mother and I visited Richmond Nantwich for a respite retreat weekend.


My mum is registered disabled. The staff were very attentive, professional and supportive. The meals provided, quality of service and menu options were plentiful. The standard of accommodation exceeded our expectations.

My mum felt very relaxed during her stay and her needs were met with the care staff being on hand 24/7. I was able to bring along my pet dog and when mum was relaxing, we'd go off for a nice walk into the town centre and the beautiful riverside and to see the bird sanctuary. A lovely weekend was had, very restorative. Thank you.

Apart from two assistants, the staff were excellent and most polite. The room provided had problems:


Too small - no comfortable chair.
Two hangers (one a battered wire one).
Double bedspread on a single bed - dangerous overhanging.
TV problems, many.


But good outlet, view.
On the whole good

food, particularly soups and puddings.

I am aware that a member of staff spoke to you whilst you were here to explain that the room allocated was one of our standard respite rooms. Many of our rooms have recently been extended to include outside patios and balconies but these are occupied by our longer term residents.
The chair provided is common to all rooms and I am sorry that you did not find this comfortable. The bedspread is actually a single but I understand your concerns regarding a trip hazard and these have been passed on to our Hospitality Manager, as has your comment regarding the TV (although we are a little unclear as to your precise meaning).
It is kind of you to compliment the food; we have many excellent comments about the choice and quality we offer. I am sorry that you found two assistants unhelpful; we do our utmost to ensure that the same excellent customer service is offered to everyone and I can only apologise for this.

The care of our elderly parents at Richmond Nantwich was excellent. They were clean and in clean clothes, every day, which we are sure added to their well-being and dignity. The food we believe was the best and my father-in-law actually put on weight.
The staff were friendly and helpful and communicated
with us when there was a problem. We would highly recommend Richmond Nantwich for all these reasons and the cleanliness of the whole area was good despite building work going on.

I spent a week in the care unit following spinal surgery. I have no complaints about any of the care I received.
Although there was work going on externally, the workmen were considerate.
The food was of a good nutritious quality. The catering staff were kind and courteous,
The care staff were excellent
and offered help when needed. I was not afraid to ask for anything a really good standard. A little bit expensive but you pay for excellence.

Job Title: Village Manager

Joined: 1996

Lynne has been working at Richmond Village Nantwich since 1996. Her role as Village Manager means she is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day life in the village. She spends time dealing with issues raised by residents, potential residents and staff. Lynne also provides support to all the Heads of Department in their roles and helps out as and when needed. She is also responsible for maintaining a set budget, future planning for the village, management reporting, etc. Lynne also spends time networking and promoting the village.


‘The best part of the day is when I am spending time with our residents. They have had amazing lives and I am proud that we are able to help them to continue to enjoy life to the full,’ says Lynne.

Allyson Attward

Job Title: Head of Care/Registered Manager

Joined: 2022

Allyson is the Head of Care / Registered Manager for the residential care home within the Richmond Village Nantwich and has to adhere to the care standards requirements of the care home thus maintaining the care rating given to us by CQC after our inspection report.


She organises all admissions and discharges from the care home and ensures that the care delivered to the clients is always of the highest standards, delivered safely and with dignity.


Allyson promotes an "open door" policy for all who live, work and visit the care home, and is always willing to listen to feedback.
