It's in a very pleasant part of Blackpool with an attractive garden. Everybody here is pleasant and appears to enjoy the company. We have been pleased to enjoy singers and dancers from local shows.

I have lived here a number of years 6-7, I came here with the church to sing and I love the feel of the home and said I want to live here at Alexandra Court when I am not able to live at home. To this day I know I made the correct choice and never regret it. The food is amazing always a good choice,
I enjoy every week. I have made my apartment home as I have brought my own furniture, this makes it home. The staff are all lovely and enjoy the daily activities when I join in. The care is outstanding, I love it here and it is home.

Our aunt has been at Alexandra Court for a few years now. We realised that she needed some help with day to day living so we were fortunate that we heard about Alexandra Court. She settled in really quickly with the help of the caring staff.
The caring has continued and we can only thank all the
staff for all that they do for her. From our point of view, they are always very welcoming when we go to visit and we see that they obviously really care about the residents. They have a difficult job but they do it with compassion and laughter! An important component for everyone!
The place is always clean and tidy and well managed and our aunt seems very happy there.
Thank you all.

'Delighted' may not be a wholly appropriate term given all my beliefs as to how our very wealthy country should fully fund ALL required personal/social care. However, given the current care climate, delight is not too strong a summation of my feelings vis-à-vis my mum's care, treatment and support during
her three years at Alexandra Court. The utterly dedicated staff are unquestionably Alexandra Court's strongest attribute in showing unfailing patience, endless flexibility and a level of care way beyond what anyone could have expected throughout mum's inexorably declining condition. Mum's final phase of life was characterised by the kindness, dignity and even love given to her.

Since my mother moved into Alexandra Court, she has received the best care and attention from all concerned. The staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble for them.
The rooms are kept spotlessly clean and the food is varied and well served.

All the staff go out of their way to ensure

that residents and relatives needs are met.

I have family visiting me on a regular basis i.e., 3 times a week. The chef provides a regular menu but is happy to alter this. The food is excellent.
The carers are very good and check the rooms every 2 hours after midnight.
We all enjoy playing dominoes after we have rested after lunch.

Having made the difficult decision that my mother needed full-time care due to her advancing dementia, I spent a great deal of time looking for the home that would meet all her needs. I decided on Alexandra Court. Yes, the home is tastefully decorated, clean and the food served is excellent, however
the main reasons why are that the home has a lovely, caring and welcoming atmosphere. 6 weeks on the team have proved my initial feelings, they are passionate about the care they provide and it is exemplary, the management are approachable and open and honest. I am happy to leave my mum knowing she is safe and well cared for.

I have been here for 3 1/2 years. The care is excellent. If I need anything I have only got to ask. When my bathroom was changed to a wet room I got to choose my own furniture on the internet.

I went to visit my grandma for the first time in many years with other family members. The home was very welcoming and had a lovely fresh smell to it. My grandma has been living at Alexandra Court for a few years now and she tells me how lovely it is and she is happy not being at home. She mentioned
that it felt like home at times as she has her own apartment. The apartments are very nice and spacious. The staff were all lovely offering cups of tea/coffee, biscuits to us. It just felt so homely and lovely I would gladly say my grandma is being looked after well by all the staff. Keep up the good work.

My dad has been living at Alexandra Court for nearly 8 years and in that time he has been looked after really well by all the staff. We have never had to worry about his care when we were not there as we trusted the staff completely to treat dad with the utmost care and compassion and knowing they would
alert us to any problems concerning our dad. Unfortunately, my dad has just passed away on the 27th April 2018 but this sad and traumatic time was made so much easier by all the kindness and support shown to not only my dad but also to my sister and me in the days before my dad's death when he was very ill.

My father in law has spent quite a few weeks in homes over the last few years, and has always wanted to get back home as soon as possible, but this has not been the case at Alexandra Court. His praise for the staff, food and attention he has received has been incredible. The home is always immaculately
clean, staff are friendly and helpful but always professional, I can't have been happier with our choice of home short-term. The rooms are incredibly spacious, and there are plenty of communal areas for residents to mix and chat. He is a very difficult man to please, so they are obviously getting things spot on! 11/10!

My elderly friend was put into a care home for one month and she went downhill fast. Then I came across Alexandra Court and had her moved, her happy face came back after a few days. The staff were so nice, it was nice to visit her knowing I wasn't going to be met with lots of woes. I would give the
home 10/10 for making her a very happy lady again. Wish every care home was the same as this one.

My dad has been at Alexandra Court on respite. The service at the home is fantastic, my dad was in hospital and he was very miserable there. Since coming to Alexandra Court he is back to his old self. He's like a new man. I can't express how happy I am with the staff! They have apartments with their
own bedroom and living room, en-suite and even a kitchen etc.

On behalf of all our family, I would like to express our sincere thanks to all members of staff, for the care of our Dad.
The staff Alexandra Court showed complete respect and dignity at all times, during his stay at the home.
Most important, they always made him smile and laugh, and nothing was too
much trouble.

Our Dad sadly passed away on 7.1.18 at the home. It was a very peaceful passing, and we thank the staff, for all their support at this difficult time.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.526)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.526) out of 10 for Alexandra Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.626 for Alexandra Court is calculated as follows: ( (69 Excellents x 5) + (36 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.626

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Alexandra Court is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 37 registered maximum number of service users is 7.4, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
