My career has always involved care homes. I started as a weekend cook and have worked my way up to full time head chef. I have worked in numerous care homes and over the years each move felt like a natural progression from small homes to larger and larger.
When I’m not at work (or cooking) I enjoy singing and socialising with family and friends.
I chose social care as I love working alongside the elderly, I have done it for so many years now that I couldn’t imagine anything different.
The favourite aspect of my job would have to be seeing the residents smile when they sit down in the dining room to a good, hearty meal. I love to hear the resident’s feedback as knowing they are happy and content makes me feel the same.
