My father was a resident at Brooklands House for approximately five years until his recent passing. He considered it his home as did I and the staff were his surrogate family in my absence.
Whilst there he was treated with dignity, respect and kindness at all times. The food was superb and he always
looked forward to his meals, especially breakfast and he talked extremely highly of the chefs. His personal care was excellent and I witnessed it first-hand on many occasions.
Being in the home for such a long time invariably fosters relationships and trust. He was ever grateful to the owner and her team who treated him like part of their family and nothing was too difficult I believe they go above and beyond in their pursuit of ensuring their residents are well cared for.
The home is a clean and welcoming environment with superb amenities, located in a lovely part of Lytham overlooking the local gardens and a short walk to the town centre and promenade.
Highly recommended.

Brooklands House is a care home/residential home that I visit 8/10 times on average throughout the year and have done for the past 7/8 years.
This is a family-owned home where everyone is treated like family whether they be staff or residents. The staff are the best of the best and even the regular
hired-in entertainers are of very high standards, they have games days, days out around the local area, trips out to shows and many other in-house activities to keep the minds of everyone active.
Food standards are very high at Brooklands House, in fact I’d say that many meals I’ve seen have been of a good restaurant standard. The house is very well presented from the outside and is immaculate inside, no corners are cut and the whole team should be very proud of how good everything is. If I needed residential care or I had an elderly family member who needed care then Brooklands House would be top of my list of places to go. I’d recommend Brooklands to anyone.

My father has been in Brooklands House Rest Home for just over a year. He is very well looked after. He is always smart-looking and very well-fed. He has a lovely large room overlooking gardens. The home is in a great location for trips out to the park or the seafront. Since being in the home the staff
has stayed the same, which says a lot for a place. Great teamwork. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home. It gives us peace of mind.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.693)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.693) out of 10 for Brooklands House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.943 for Brooklands House is calculated as follows: ( (34 Excellents x 5) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 35 Ratings = 4.943

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brooklands House is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 6 = 0.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
