Located on the A6 between Clayton-le-Woods and Bamber Bridge, Brookside care home offers a wide range of facilities to suit every need. At Brookside care staff understand your worries and anxieties regarding a choice of home. The owners and their kind and helpful staff can assist you with any queries or requests.

All staff teams are highly trained and experienced with registered nurses and care assistants who undergo National Vocational Qualification training to ensure high-quality standards of care. Brookside staff are carefully chosen and trained assistance is available 24-hours per day.

I cannot speak highly enough about the manager and staff. They have been outstanding in the care and attention they have given to my mother. They are always welcoming to myself and sister when we visit.
I am kept up to date with any changes or requirements to my mother's care. Her health and attitude
to life have much improved since being at Brookside Care Home.

My husband's dad has moved to Brookside Care Home after a series of falls.
The home has twenty-five residents and is so homely, his bedroom is generously sized, en-suite and the meals are home-made. He is really enjoying them.
The staff made a lovely Christmas and New Year for the residents.
All
the staff are cheerful, friendly and helpful.
The manager has been very supportive during the process of my father-in-law moving in and getting settled, not just for him but for us too, she and her team have gone above and beyond my expectations.
I think we are lucky to have found such a nice care home.

My mother has lived at Brookside Care Home for eighteen months now. She was welcomed, reassured, made comfortable and allowed to personalise her room. Mum feels safe, is well cared for and has benefited from the company and activities in the home. She enjoys the meals. The staff are friendly when we
visit and our few concerns have been quickly addressed. Mum is treated with respect and is encouraged to continue with the hobbies that she can still manage. Her mental and physical health needs are supported with thought and kindness. Mum says moving into Brookside was a good decision and we are grateful to the staff for helping her to make it her home.

Mum has been in Brookside Care Home for a couple of years now following her suffering from a stroke during Covid. She was in a previous home which we didn't feel was suitable. The manager and her staff have been great, they really care about their residents and do their utmost to make them feel at home
and meet their needs. They work closely with us as relatives and provide complete confidence that Mum is being looked after and cared for.

Our mother stayed at Brookside Care Home for assesment throughout August after leaving hospital and before returning home
The care and love the manager and the professional and passionate team gave our mum was really really appreciated.
A lovely friendy and open atmosphere
Mum is back home now
but her short stay at Brookside was just what she needed.

We chose Brookside because of the friendly, open welcome we received on our impromptu visit. My mum is always clean and dressed nicely. She enjoys a wide range of interesting activities and has made some friends. We have never seen my mum as settled and happy as she is in Brookside. Mum says she feels
safe, and this is reassuring for us as a family. Everyone working in the home is friendly and approachable. Staff are always engaged with residents when we visit and seem to genuinely enjoy being with residents. The manager is especially helpful and has been a great support in getting everything sorted, and Mum settled in. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, backed up by clear routines that meet my mum's needs. Nothing but high praise for this gem of a care home

Mum has been at Brookside for six months. She is well cared for. The staff are caring, considerate and go the extra mile to ensure the residents are safe and feel secure, as each resident is treated as an individual. There is an ethos of care and compassion, which comes from the leadership team.

My auntie moved into Brookside Care Home in 2019. I live in Hampshire and don't get to see her that often, so it is lovely to see pictures and updates on how she is doing. The staff have been very professional through Covid and have communicated through their social media page, keeping everyone up to
date with what is going on in the care home. Her brother lives near me, and it is so nice to hear him talk about the phone calls he has had with her and how easy it is to be able to keep in contact with her. It is lovely to see how happy and content she is. Thank you to all the staff for everything you do; you are doing an amazing job.

Mum moved to Brookside Care Home in 2019 and settled in very well at a traumatic time in her life when we lost my father and she was made welcome by residents and staff from the moment she walked through the door. Mum suffers from dementia and the staff did a great job of encouraging mum to get involved
in the activities and make new friends, they are constantly doing for different times of the year. They all managed to get through the pandemic with true dedication and professionalism.
The manager and the staff, also the owners, give their full commitment to all of the residents and make them feel as if it was there own home.
Everyone at the home continues to give their best dedication and more to all the residents including Mum. It's nice to know she is safe and well looked after, giving us peace of mind.

As soon as my father moved into Brookside, he was made very welcome. The manager and staff got to know my father quickly, and all do their best to ensure that he is happy there. He feels safe and cared for and enjoys his meals and participating in events. He is now looking so much better, more relaxed
and happy.
As a family, we feel we are always kept well-informed and supported. Staff are considerate of the needs of individual family members.

Mum has been at Brookside Care Home for almost three years and has really settled in. She has put weight on and made many friends. She has also developed an interest in the varied activities. She has a delightful room and her own little bathroom. Everything is clean, tidy and very homely.
I love the
atmosphere at Brookside as it has such a happy band of carers led by a very professional, very approachable matron who clearly loves her job and is always at hand to give advice and support.

My mother has spent a number of weeks in Brookside Care Home and I would personally like to commend the staff and the management on their professionalism and support that they have all offered, not just to my mother, but equally to myself and my extended family. I can honestly say that the misconception
that people and myself had of care facilities was totally diminished when my mother attended Brookside. The relationship that the staff and management have built up with my mother and myself has now put my mind at complete rest in knowing that the final chapter in my mum's life is one of kindness, caring, laughter, sharing and a complete package for the remainder of her end of life care. My mum was very house-proud and never wanted to leave her home, but after some time at Brookside she made the decision that she couldn't think of anywhere else that she would rather be. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home and would finally like to say a massive thank you to all at Brookside!

Mum went into Brookside in February 2022. The home refused to take her back after a hospital stay in May quoting they were unable to meet her needs. We were not allowed notice and had no choice but to immediately find another home to which mum could be discharged. The distress this situation caused
was unimaginable and was eventually investigated by the Ombudsman. The summary of this report, I believe is available to read online.
I would caution anyone choosing this home to carefully consider the potentially changing needs of their relative. You too may find yourself high and dry.

The Directors of Brookside would like to point out that in order to avoid an unsafe discharge, it was in the best interest of your mum to be re-assessed by the hospital prior to her returning to the home. This incident has been investigated by CQC and the LGO neither body of which has upheld the complaint. The management can fully appreciate the distress caused to your mum and her family and are very sorry for the consequent upset.

Mum lived at Brookside for six years and couldn't have been better cared for. All the staff are so kind and caring, nothing is too much trouble and they really knew Mum and her needs. I had complete confidence in the manager and all her staff. I knew they would ring me as appropriate and always kept
me up to date. They were all amazing throughout covid - Mum was one of the few people that I knew who didn't catch it. I was completely confident that Mum was getting the best care, even when I couldn't see her. My lovely Mum passed away recently. Her end-of-life care was second to none. Everyone looked after me and my family as we spent time with Mum. I will forever be grateful to the manager and all the lovely staff.

Louise joined Brookside in March 2012. She has many years experience in management of care and among her list of qualifications includes RMA, ILM, A1 assessors, FAW, risk assessments, key mover aware and she is currently working towards her level 5. Louise is passionate about care and understands the role as a twenty four hour commitment. Louise explains "Care is all about fundamental care, having power with an individual not over them and striving to meet not only their needs but their wishes, aims and aspirations". Louise believes in leading by example and will never compromise on standards of care she and her team of staff provide.
