My sister has been at The Croft for a year. I am an infrequent visitor due to location and my experience of some aspects of her care are limited.
The move, due to the closure of her previous home, was traumatic for her. The changes to her expectations and routines upset her and her behaviour deteriorated,
as did her health and well-being. I was not contacted to inform me of concerns, though staff evidently found it difficult to understand her needs.
I visited five months after her move and was shocked and upset by the changes I saw. I addressed these with the manager and things improved rapidly once the staff understood the lady she had been and the preferences she had but didn't know how to express.
She now seems happy, is much healthier and her anti-social behaviour has ceased. Trust is developing with the staff and there is a greater understanding of her personality and needs.
I am pleased with the improvements and I now feel confident that my sister is happy and well cared for at The Croft.

Reply from Flora Mason, Owner/Manager at The Croft

Moving home could be stressful for anyone. However, her behaviours' could be challenging, but working closely with our resident family their support and input improved the care experience for her.

No problem with anything, been nothing but helpful since my son has been there. Wish he'd gone there earlier.
