Hedges House is a lovely Residential Care Home in Lytham close to Lytham Green, and all Lytham's fabulous facilities including cafes, shops, restaurants and much more. The team provides wonderful care in a home from home environment. The staff are fully trained and the home benefits from an on site Registered Manager, full time maintenance, home cook and daily housekeeping.

Hedges House offers care and support for residents that may need help with personal care, continence management, medication management, nutrition and diet and much more. Living in a residential care home can support families to provide round the clock support and company for loved ones at a time when they need it most.

The home has 32 luxurious bedrooms with en-suite facilities, a licensed bar, an air-conditioned garden room and offers excellent home-cooked food which is all locally sourced. Hedges House can offer short term care, recuperation from hospital stays, respite care and longer term residential care. Hedges House can support residents living with dementia.

Hedges House prides itself on the personalised care on offer and the team takes time to build strong and valued relationships with all families. My neighbour always wanted Hedges to be her final home. She has experienced loving care on a daily basis and was cared for during her last two years with respect, love and dignity. The staff are always helpful and caring and the standard of hygiene second to none.

Hedges House has provided the highest level of care to our dearest elderly friend over the past few years. Despite the difficulties that the recent pandemic has created they have ensured her safety and promoted her well being.
In the final days of her life, they have assisted those nearest her to be
as closely involved as allowed and provided the best of care for her.
This is only what we expected from the same level of care that was given to my mother who lived there for over ten years. The manager and staff have to be commended for their dedication to the elderly.

Dad has lived at Hedges House for nearly 4 years. I am very happy with the standards in the home. The manager is an excellent manager ably assisted by her deputy. The staff turnover is very small and most of the staff have been in post for the full time that Dad has lived there. The atmosphere is
calm and the staff are friendly and genuinely caring. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hedges House to others.

My mother, who is just short of 98 years of age, became a resident of Hedges House in the summer of 2018, initially for respite care. It quickly became apparent that she was not looking after herself at home and reluctantly she agreed to remain in the care home after my family's return from a European
holiday. It would be fair to say that up to the present time she would prefer to be independent, but realises that she could not look after herself safely within her own home. Throughout her 3 years at Hedges House, I know she has been treated with respect from all the people who work there and more importantly she is safe. The care home deserves particular credit during the pandemic, ensuring that the safety of the residents is paramount. All the staff treat the residents with respect even, at times, under difficult circumstances. They converse with residents whilst undertaking their duties. I find the management team professional at all times and always willing to assist.

Sadly my mum needed to go into care in July 2019 when my father, her principal carer, had to go into hospital. She was offered a place at Hedges House and settled in well. Her stay became permanent when it was clear my father was no longer able to look after her. He has since died. Mum is content in
her own little world and I have no doubt she is well cared for. Covid has been an added issue and a major one preventing visits and close contact and it continues to be so. It's very sad to see her knowing what a vivacious woman she was. However, I'm satisfied she is well cared for with kindness and understanding. The sooner Covid restrictions are lifted the better. Whilst Hedges House have been strict and limited close contact since before the first lockdown, I understand there have been no fatalities due to covid so the regime seems to have worked but at a cost from a personal relationship level for children.

Thank you for your review Michael and yes I fully appreciate the frustration that lockdown brought to our residents and their loved ones, however, it worked and we managed to keep Hedges House Covid free. Visits have been taking place in the porch for the last few months and close contact visits have restarted, firstly with one nominated visitor and currently, it is two nominated visitors, unfortunately, government guidelines dictate the visiting regime. We too look forward to Covid restrictions been lifted and welcoming our visitors back. Regards Michelle

My mother has been in Hedges House for nearly a year. I have to say that all the staff are amazing. They are very compassionate and attentive to the residents. Mum has adapted well to the home and is less anxious as a result. The food is all home-cooked and of an impeccable standard. The location of
Hedges House is lovely. It’s situated on the outskirts of Lytham town centre. I would recommend this care home as it’s provided Mum with a high quality of care.

My Aunt was living alone, she was unable to look after herself, so we chose Hedges House from the residential homes in the area, and what a good choice this has been. The staff are friendly and very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble to them. You only have to look around to see how well each resident
is taken care of, the hairdresser and chiropodist make regular visits as do people who come in to entertain, do exercises for whose who can, parties are organised for birthdays and national events. All in all, it is a very happy place, a residential home I can highly recommend.

My mother has been in Hedges House since January 2020 and has been very happy there. It is a well managed, clean and caring home and we cannot praise enough the efforts of staff during the pandemic. They are always happy to arrange safe visiting and have accommodated other relatives who have called
in the visiting "pod" where we've been able to see my mum behind glass with a speaker system, or socially distanced in the garden in a gazebo. She is still happy despite the restrictions and always speaks very highly of the staff and their attitude. I would certainly recommend it. Her clothes are always regularly washed and she looks bright and clean when I visit.

My ninety-one-year-old mother has been a resident at Hedges House for the last three years, as she has dementia and my elderly father was unable to cope and I live a long way away.
There was no question when it came to choosing a care home that it would not be Hedges House. My great aunt had been a
resident there in her nineties and as regular visitors, my mother and father and myself had witnessed at first hand the care and devotion of the staff.
The atmosphere is like one big family. The food is super, healthy and well balanced
They also provide special homemade cakes which can be ordered for birthdays or anniversaries. These cakes are absolutely stunning. They have wonderful chefs.
I was also delighted to see how many familiar faces there were amongst the staff when my mother took up residence. This in itself speaks volumes as staff are content and remain. Several have been there for more than fifteen years. They should be proud. I thoroughly recommend this wonderful place

My wonderful 97-year-old father-in-law has been at Hedges for four years. Just this week he has told us that he is very happy there. The staff are magnificent! Caring, attentive, friendly to residents and visitors alike. Over the course of the last very challenging year, they have gone the extra mile
time and again both in caring for their residents and keeping them safe from the virus. At the same time, they did all they could to enable safe contact between residents and their families as and when the rules allowed. Whilst the premises are not as spacious as some other homes the quality of the care more than makes up for this. We have nothing but praise for the manager and all her staff.

My dad lived at Hedges House until recently, he moved there when his dementia meant he couldn’t live alone anymore. He died at the end of November at the fine old age of 89. It was the hardest decision I have ever made, moving him to a rest home.
I tried for two years to keep him in his own home
but he just couldn’t look after himself even with help. I felt so guilty when he moved to Hedges House but it soon passed. It became apparent very early on that the manager and her wonderful team were far better at looking after dad than I was. Nothing was ever too much trouble, I was always made to feel very welcome and most importantly dad was very content there. A huge ‘Thank you’ to all you lovely Hedges House staff.

Dad moved into Hedges House 7 months ago and quickly decided he wanted to stay. We have been impressed by the friendly atmosphere created by the staff and other residents. Dad has been encouraged to be as independent as possible, whilst accepting support where needed. Residents are encouraged to participate
in extra activities and their visitors are always made to feel welcome.

My father was a resident at Hedges House for 15 months until he left to go to the hospital.
During his time at Hedges House, he was always treated with the utmost courtesy and respect. He was well cared for, enjoyed his meals and kept clean and tidy.
I cannot imagine Dad being better cared for anywhere
else.

During the last 10 months when my mother was a resident of Hedges Houses I always felt she was treated with kindness and respect and mum often commented on how well she was treated by the team. Unfortunately, mum became ill and spent the last few weeks of her life in hospice care but I would highly
recommend Hedges for the excellent care provided to mum whilst she was a resident.

Very apprehensive about going in after reading about old people being abused. What a joy, the home is lovely. Made very welcome from the first day. Staff are brilliant, management good, the food is excellent and a good and varied diet which is well presented. Plenty of activities, always something going
on. I would definitely recommend anybody and everyone to go in. Thoroughly loved it.

My mum has been at Hedges House for a few years now and is very well looked after.
I am confident that she is in safe hands whilst she is there and the staff are attentive to her needs and always try to ensure that she is happy. At times when she has been ill, both the manager and staff have given

The care and attention here have been excellent with all management and staff paying very caring attention to my wife and, from my observation, all residents equally. On occasions when I have had meals here the food has been very good. There has been good access to medical services when required. The
activities are varied and the quizzes are particularly popular, especially where they entail some participation by the residents. Music and singing are obviously good for participation. Overall the experience has been good despite difficult circumstances.

Having spent 15 years working in childcare I looked for a long time to find a home for my own grandma. Since taking over Hedges House, I have been back to college to study my level 5 in Health and Social Care and spent a lot of time getting to know our residents.


I love what I do and feel very privileged to lead a Residential Care Home where the residents mean so much. My role is to support the home from a regulatory prospective and offer direction and guidance to drive quality.


Of course I couldn't do this without the help of our staff team and with their support we put our residents at the heart of our home.
