Residents Xmas party Nov 2023. A really enjoyable afternoon, with lovely food and lovely staff, nothing was too much trouble. I've never seen my mum dance before! A truly lovely day that was thoroughly enjoyed by residents and their families. The care home manager went above and beyond to ensure that
we all had a really fun time.

Well, where do I start? Never did we think our mum would settle anywhere but her flat. Long story but just couldn't live alone any longer. The manager has gone above and beyond to meet all my mum's needs and then some. The change in Mum is unbelievable... she's smiling, dancing in the chair even chatting.
The staff are all very nice and nothing is too much trouble. They have made us as a family not worry anymore as we know she's being very well looked after. We can't thank you enough for all that you do.
Kind regards.

My aunt, who suffers from dementia, has been in the care of Marsden Heights for twelve months. I cannot praise them enough for the care, kindness and consideration she has, and still does, receive from all the staff members. Marsden Heights is a lovely safe and secure care home with at the same time
having a relaxed and caring atmosphere. Their resident's well-being is definitely their priority and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them to anyone.

My aunt moved to Marsden Heights at the beginning of the pandemic. Due to the circumstances there was not the normal amount of preparation time, and initially, it was not an easy transition. The staff, and in particular the manager, were amazing. Their patience and understanding were beyond expectation.
They have helped to make my aunt feel safe and well cared for. They have also been very supportive with family and kept us fully informed at all times. How they have managed this in these particularly difficult times is a credit to them all.

All good. Mum spoke very highly of the carers. I asked for a handrail on her bed; it turned up the same day. The buzzer wasn’t working at first: it was fixed. People doing a tough job well.

My brother-in-law is well looked after, his body might have given up but he's still got a cheeky sense of humour and the staff laugh and joke with him all the time.

My mother has a room at Marsden Heights for respite. From the initial assessment, we had a really good feeling about this place. It was recommended to us by a frIend who used this service last year for her father.
When we arrived, we noticed how bright and clean the place was. The staff were all friendly
and helped us settle in very well. This was the first time we have ever used overnight care for mum - and our first impression was that of a very caring homely and friendly place.
Mum is always nice and clean when we call (every day) we've had cups of tea and biscuits and the staff can't make us more welcome.
All the residents seem very happy and are very well cared for.

My mother has been resident for 18 months and the home itself is like home from home with the open plan living room and dining area combined. Manager and staff are very approachable and friendly and listen to any concerns you may have. Food is good and made on site. Activities are offered to keep residents
minds active plus hairdressing and other services can be provided.
Rooms are very good and residents can personalise their rooms and are homely.
I would recommend Marsden Heights Care Home to anyone considering placing their loved ones there.

Mum moved to Marsden Heights after 15 months at a council-run care home. We had nothing to compare the previous home to and therefore in hindsight left her there longer than we should. As soon as Mum got to Marsden Heights I knew we had made the right choice.
Marsden Heights might not be the most
modern of care homes but it is a HOME where the residents are loved by the staff and treated 100% of the time with respect and compassion. It does not matter what time of day I call, Mum's bed is freshly made, her room is clean and Mum is clean with nicely matched clothes.
I can sleep at night now, knowing that Mum will never be frightened or lonely.
The food is home cooked and edible, I often have some if I call at mealtimes and there is a good range of activities.
I cannot recommend the staff highly enough. For them, this is a vocation, not just a job. If I had my way, they would be paid more than the highest paid banker in the world!

Mum has been resident in Marsden Heights for just over a year. From the beginning, the standards of care were first class. The staff are always helpful, attentive, and address mum's care in a polite and respectful way. We have been so pleased. Living some way from mum it is so reassuring to know she
is being looked after so well.

My mum is new to this care home and after viewing several I knew this one was the right place for her, as soon as I walked through the door I was greeted by a member of staff and was willingly shown around and everything explained to me, when it was time for my mother to move in the manager and another
member of staff was there ready to take over and lessen the stress on me and settle my mother in. From then on I knew she would be looked after, cared for and safe...she is a brilliant manager and easy to talk to, all the staff are really lovely and they all work well together as a team and that is down to the way it's all being managed so thank you, myself and my family always feel very welcome when we visit and my mother has settled in very well, it just feels like home from home and I really appreciate that......a massive thank you to all that work there it really means a lot.....it's far from the easiest of jobs...love to all...xx

Marsden Heights Care Home has been the perfect place for my Grandma. After a difficult 10 months we made the heart breaking decision that she needed full time care. We visited unannounced and couldn't have felt more welcome. My grandma is so well cared for, always in fresh clothes including little touches
like jewellery and perfume. The staff are fantastic and in 4 weeks have built her up with meals she enjoys. All staff are always friendly and welcoming and I feel happy knowing my grandma is receiving brilliant care.

This is an excellent care home and the staff are kind and caring. I have seen a big difference in my mum since she moved in. I couldn't wish for better care for my mum. Today I found my mum spotless neatly dressed with jewellery and perfume on and this was done by her carer as at the moment my mum
can't do these things for herself. Excellent care home.

My Father in law has been in the care home for the last few months, The staff there are all very lovely, I have found them to be kind and patient with the residents at all times. I also found them to be lovely to visitors as well and very cheerful. The manager there genuinely cares about the residents
and even when she is very busy she finds the time for residents and staff. I would advise people to place their relatives in the care home. They have a good choice of food and the residents all seem content.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.542)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.542) out of 10 for Marsden Heights Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Marsden Heights Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (23 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.542 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Marsden Heights Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.8 = 0.417

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
