Having also recently opened a state-of-the-art Specialist Dementia Care Community (SDCC), Meadow Bank offers an enhanced service which focuses on the welfare and wellbeing of people who are emotionally distressed by their dementia and therefore require specialist care and support.

Recently, the welcoming care home benefitted from a significant refurbishment programme, which created modernised living environments, including a cinema (in SDCC community), which were designed to enhance the quality of life for all residents.

My mum-in-law (94) was discharged from hospital to Meadow Bank during Covid. We were unable to visit initially, but we’ve been so grateful for the level of care and attention shown to both to us and to Mum. From her time in Beech House, to her transfer to Ribble, we’ve had many conversations with managers
and carers who’ve been able to update us on her wellbeing. She seems to have settled in well and is well looked after, her weight maintained, and she has visits from an activities co-ordinator who does crafts with her. Our daughter was married recently and live-streamed her ceremony (of 5) to family who couldn’t attend. The carers dressed Mum for the occasion, and decorated the visiting room with balloons, candles, banners, and rose petals so that she could enjoy the ceremony with my husband (her son). I’ll be honest, I sobbed at their thoughtfulness and dedication. The managers and staff have been amazing. Thank you all. (ratings given without access, due to Covid)

Unfortunately due to Covid-19 restrictions, we have not visited so our review is very limited. Overall we have found Meadow Bank Care Home very caring and the staff very helpful. Thanks for the care you gave to my Mother in Law.

My mum was a resident for 12 months in Beech House and was looked after at all times by nurses and care staff with the utmost care, dignity and professionalism. In her time there, I have never had any reason to complain. She loved her room and the hot home-cooked food prepared on-site. Mum was always
in clean clothes, her hair done weekly at the hairdressers there, nail varnish applied and never smelt of urine.
I spent 48 hours there at the end of her life and saw 1st hand how well she was cared for. Her end of life meds were started on time, nurses came in every 10 to 15 minutes to check on her. Her position in bed adjusted every 2 hours, she was properly washed and her nightie changed every day. I heard how the care staff had spent hours in her room in the evenings chatting during lockdown. I could rest assured that my mother was very well looked after as I received regular updates about her condition and her needs. I couldn't ask for more from a care home. Wonderful staff! Thank you.

My mum had excellent care whilst at Meadow Bank. Her room was lovely and she was able to see trees and the garden from her bed. Most importantly the staff in Ribble House were superb - respectful, personable and loving, establishing a very caring relationship with my mum at the end of her life.

The staff at Meadow Bank have been nothing but caring compassionate and attentive to the needs of my father in law. They always put his care needs first and foremost and reliably communicate updates to the family when we visit. I have found the staff to be professional and efficient to deal with if
we have any queries and they have always expressed to us as a family that if we have any worries or concerns to feel comfortable to go and speak to them. I would not hesitate in recommending Meadow Bank to other families.

Our mother was a resident at Meadow Bank for 21 months and received excellent care and support at all times. At no point did we have cause for concern about her care, support or dignity. We knew she was being supported and cared for by professional caring people from the management team to the cleaners
and the laundry staff, kitchen staff and any member of staff who came into contact with our mother was caring, friendly, professional and supportive. Our mother was taken to the hospital in late December 2019 and was diagnosed with an untreatable condition and was deemed to be at the end of life. She returned back to Meadow Bank to live out the rest of her life in the comfort of her home surrounded by staff and family. Her condition deteriorated 11 days before she passed away and was then confined to her bed, what followed was the end of life plan, executed by the manager and all his staff on a unit and I can only describe it as incredible. The attention to detail and care, not only for our mother but for us as a family was beyond belief. Our mother passed away with dignity and was surrounded by family and staff that really care.

All the staff at (Beech House) Meadow Bank care home are extremely competent and caring with their residents. They go above and beyond to make the home as comfortable as possible for all the residents, along with expertise in personal care. The staff are diligent towards health and safety of all and

I visited my Grandfather over the Christmas period, I live abroad and sadly don’t see him often enough, however, this does give me a clear view of his condition changes as my visits are 6 months apart. My last visit to see him was my first since he moved into Meadow Bank so it was with great joy that
I could see how happy and responsive he was compared to the last care home he was in. If I was to put a scale of 1 to 10 on his mood and interaction between the first home and Meadow Bank he’s gone from a 2 to a 7/8. I also find the carers extremely friendly and warm. I’m really happy for my grandfather and I feel he’s also very happy.

My husband has been in the care of Meadowbank since September 2019. Myself and my family are very happy with the care he has been given. Any concerns are dealt with promptly and the food is excellent. Nowhere is like home, but he appears happy here and the staff are all caring, kind and answer any questions
day or night. I feel happy myself that my husband is here - he loves the carers, thank you.

I moved my mother to Willow House at Meadow Bank in March this year. My mother is 95 and still active, she constantly tells me how kind and caring all the staff are and how safe she feels. My opinion of the home is one of praise for all the staff I have dealings with, they look after my mother very
well and she is able to maintain her dignity and independence in a well-run environment.

The change in my Mum is remarkable. After years of being highly stressed, she has found peace. She is always clean, which never happens in past care homes. The staff at Meadow Bank all have big hearts and treat my mother with love and respect. I cannot praise everyone enough. So very grateful.

My wife has been in Meadow Bank Care Home for three months. During this time I have found her to have been treated with the best of care. Extremely kind and affectionate staff.

My review of Meadow Bank is mainly good. It is just lacking on the activities side. I just feel that the residents with dementia have nothing going on to try and stimulate them.

We have recently had a vacancy for an Activity Co-ordinator which unfortunately impacted on our provision of our usual high standard of activities to our Residents. Happily, we have now recruited two new Activity Co-ordinators; one of which will be dedicated to activity provision for Residents living with dementia. Following induction, this will take our regular team of Activity Co-ordinators to four. Additionally, an Activity Co-ordinator who is well known to many of our Residents and regular visitors, will continue to help out on an ad hoc basis with special events, reminiscence and other activities specifically tailored towards dementia care. We are certain you will see a great improvement in activities offered; you are very welcome to discuss any aspects of care or concerns you may have in more detail with the management team at any time.
