My partner has been in The Mews for 18 months. During this time, he has been cared for with dignity and compassion. He has been encouraged to join in activities, even though a shy man, he has enjoyed being involved.
During the last few weeks, when the illness was at it's worst, the care and compassion
shown to him was wonderful for which I am very grateful.

The staff are to be highly praised for the way they looked after my father for the 18 months he was a resident. We promised him that we would find somewhere that would treat him with care and respect, and I will say, that Heathside Mews helped us fulfil that promise 100%. Thank you guys for everything
you did for him.

Excellent care over the years for my mum, she absolutely loves it here, the staff are outstanding, and caring, treat everyone with the utmost dignity and respect, and their caring and kindness are faultless. I’m so glad my mum is cared for here, my mum was extremely poorly in hospital a few months
ago and after her discharge back to Heathside Mews where she has been for many years, my mum came on leaps and bounds. This is credited to all the staff for such a wonderful job that they do every day. Without the care my mum receives on a daily basis from all the staff my mum wouldn’t be here, massive credit to all the staff, you truly are my mum and our family heroes.

What an absolutely brilliant care home. The caring team are wonderful. They understand my mum's needs and the care and support she receives is 5-star standard. Management is fantastic - approachable, efficient and always keeps me updated and always on hand to offer support and advice. Mum's room is
large, sunny and feels like a home away from home. Highly recommend The Mews.

Heathside Mews has provided both myself and my mum with a great level of support and care. The rooms are large and well maintained and there are plenty of activities and things for the residents to do. The staff have been great even when Mum has experienced some issues.

I have been really pleased with the standard of care. The staff are warm and seem to genuinely care about Mum. Mum is very settled and content here. I would certainly recommend to others.

Our father (father-in-law) has settled in very well. His care has been exceptional, including supporting him after several falls, returning home, they soon had him walking and independent again. We are kept up to date on his care and all guidelines. Staff are wonderful, warm and caring giving support
to us all.

Lovely care home with caring staff that go above and beyond. My mum is very well looked after here and most importantly is happy here too. Would be happy to recommend the home to others. I can't thank the staff enough for all their hard work especially through the pandemic.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.092)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.092) out of 10 for The Mews is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.917 for The Mews is calculated as follows: ( (44 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.917

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.175 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Mews is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 5 = 0.8

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
