The trained staff, healthcare, domestic and kitchen staff have all treated Mum with great kindness, compassion and always in a dignified manner. I would recommend Beechcroft to all my friends with elderly relatives, as nothing is too much trouble for all the staff. Mum had a two week stay from the 2nd
to 15th February 2019.

Unfortunately, I lost my Dad on 25th November but I wanted to write this in order the staff got recognition for the lovely way in which they treated my Dad. They were so thoughtful, caring and really treated him like a member of their own family. At the end of the day shift, all the carers visited my
Dad and said their goodbyes as we all knew he wasn't going to make it through the night. I just wanted to say thank you to all as it made me feel better knowing that they had looked after him like their own and they were very kind to me at such a difficult time. Thank you.

The one to one support given to my mother in law by her escort from Beechcroft when taken to a recent family event was outstanding. As was the care and consideration shown by those caring for her to acknowledge this important milestone in her life.

I have found the home a Godsend for my father. After his stroke, he has needed 24/7 care and I have found this home really suited to his needs. The staff are caring, knowledgeable and very patient both with residents and also with long distance relatives like myself calling to see how my dad is on a
regular basis. They are accommodating and welcoming to visitors.


My dad seems easier in himself now he has been here a while - he is making friends and has built up a rapport with the staff. He is also eating far better and his hygiene is much improved. I cannot thank the staff enough for how they have helped my dad.

The care home is very good and caring. The staff are helpful and friendly. They could do with some sort of alert in the lounge for residents who want to go to the toilet. All in all a very good home.

We are currently liaising with our Property Manager to confirm works with regards to installing call points as you have suggested. In the meantime, the level of staff oversight of our Residents in these areas has been increased. We have a comprehensive staff team who also have a presence around the Home throughout the day and they have been reminded that we all share the responsibility of checking if Residents require any attention and responding accordingly.

New management (manager) seems to be the most professional that has been at the home since Mum has been here and hopefully, she will make the changes that are needed, i.e. not enough staff on the floor that are needed.
All rooms need to be modernised.
A better variation on meals choice.
More stimulation
is needed for residents.

Staffing ratios are based on resident dependency which is regularly reviewed to ensure the appropriate number of staff in the home. My dad has been here for three years - he is doing OK. He is well-liked and looked after.
The only problem is staffing levels, everybody is always very busy.

This care home is trying hard to do what it is supposed to do. However, certain things let it down. Staff need to be chosen better. More experienced, mature staff would be more suitable.

We have a large team at Beechcroft which includes team members of all ages and backgrounds with a wide range of life and work experience. As an organisation we have policies and procedures in place regarding staff selection using job descriptions with clear competencies, interviews and competency based exercises for all roles within the home. We also plan to engage with our Residents on the interview and selection process as we believe this will ensure that they are able to make a valid contribution to the selection of the staff who will support them in the future.

Overall the care is good and dad is treated with dignity. Dad enjoys the food and enjoys going out when he can. He seems happy most of the time. Two points which staff and management know about are;
1, Dad walked out of the care home and staff were alerted by another resident.
2, Antibiotics that
are very important for dad have still not been delivered, the prescription of these was sent to the wrong pharmacy, which tried to deliver them to dads home address. (A mix up since dad has been in respite care since end of July).

Our home is a community and we are very grateful to the Resident who alerted the care team that your Father had left the home, we will seek to ensure this does not occur again. To support this, we have reviewed our practices and would like to reassure you that access to the home is strictly monitored via a video link and all external doors have confidential key codes. The security and safety of all our Residents is of paramount importance. We have a specialist pharmacy provider who serves the Company to a high standard however unfortunately on this occasion, because your Father was undertaking a respite stay, he did not have the benefit of this overarching service. Following consultation with the GP surgery, we are confident that such an error is less likely to occur in the future. We recognise the importance of timely administration of antibiotics and as a team we value the lessons learnt from this.

I bring my neighbour to see her husband as she has no transport of her own. The staff are helpful, offer her a meal when she comes and I can help myself to tea. Her husband can be awkward at times, but the staff just take it in their stride.

Florin Hergheligiu

Job Title: Home Manager

My name is Florin Hergheligiu, and I am proud to serve as the Registered Manager at Beechcroft Care Home in Runcorn. My journey in healthcare began in 2016 as a nurse in Cumbria, where I spent five years honing my skills and gaining invaluable experience, including 2.5 years as a Clinical Lead. During this time, I also worked as a Bank Nurse (Band 5) at West Cumberland Hospital, which deepened my understanding of hospital and residential care. In 2021, I relocated to Liverpool and became the Deputy Manager at Bloomcare - Brushwood Care Home in Speke. My passion for providing high-quality care and leadership has since led me to my current role at Beechcroft, where I continue to focus on delivering compassionate, person-centred care.
