Halton View is a modern development built specifically for the clients in your local area. The home specialises in residential and dementia care, offering a selection of lounge areas and pleasant garden areas.

Carers offer residents and their families the support they need during what many find some of the most trying times of their lives. Families are truly grateful for the personal support they receive, when faced with one of life's very difficult decisions and the team pride themselves on continuing that support to residents and their families from the moment they contact the home throughout the whole of their stay and beyond.

The approach to care is simple - look after the person and not the ailment/condition alone - Carers want to get to know their residents and their families, thus enabling them to look after the whole person and not just to concentrate on the task in hand. Staff get to know their clients, who they are, who they were and how they have come to be at the home. Carers get to know their families too and like to understand the dynamics within the family setting and how best they can support these as they build a relationship of trust. They understand that choosing a care home is not just about excellent amenities, but about a true and real understanding of relationships being nurtured, trust being built and a life being lived. Professionals believe in true, real and honest care and keep this at the heart of their approach.

The home welcomes long stay residents but also those wanting a shorter stay, perhaps for rehabilitation or convalescence or to build confidence after a fall. Has also offered respite care and support to those suffering from nervous conditions following a break in at their home.

The staff at Halton View were wonderful with my dad. He was there from April to his death in July and I cannot fault any of the staff there. They were always looking after him and were very considerate to his needs. They were always very friendly to me when I visited dad every day. Towards the end I
was there all the time and they fed me, which they didn't have to do and they gave me a bed for me to have a little nap as they could see I was extremely tired.
Thank you to all the staff there.

My frail Dad who has dementia was attacked by another resident while in this place. He suffered terrible facial injuries. A week after that incident my dad fell and fractured his pelvis in 2 places. All unwitnessed!
CQC, social services and the police are all involved. I would not recommend this home
to any family. This place has had three managers in the last 12 months and rates inadequate with the CQC, which it is just deserved.

Reply from Ellen Sharp, CRO at Halton View

We are saddened to hear that your experience at our care home hasn't been the positive experience we would like it to be, and would like to reassure you that we take all complaints seriously. With regards to the incident mentioned, the police did attend the home and chose not to take any further action against either of the people involved. It was reported to the safeguarding team & social services, who also chose not to take any further action and closed the incident. At a later date your dad unfortunately had an unwitnessed fall, we sought medical assistance that found no obvious injury. However when staff identified further concerns, we arranged for him to attend hospital, where he was correctly diagnosed and put the appropriate treatment in place. The health and wellbeing of all the people cared for in our home is of paramount importance to us and we would like to assure you of our best intentions. Our door is always open should you wish to discuss your Father's care further.

Mum passed away at the above care home. Her final month was not pleasant but the staff were lovely and caring all the way through. Before this, she had lived at the care home for about 12 months. All the staff said what a remarkable lady she was and were genuinely upset when she passed.

Dad went into this care home for respite.
He really liked the staff and was treated with a lot of respect and listened to.
We were able as a family to come and visit and take Dad out whenever we wished.
We find them very polite informative and genuine.
We felt as a family we could relax as Dad was
happy. He was able to go into the garden whenever he wanted which for Dad was a blessing as he loves being outdoors. Thank you from all of us and a big thank you from Dad.

Sadly, my husband had to come into care in November 2019. Fortunately I had three months to adjust and assure myself that the standard of care was good before lockdowns.
I have always been most grateful for the caring attitude of staff and the dignity with which personal care in managed. Staff are
friendly and supportive. Management issues, important though they are, are not my concern. The day to day care for my husband is.

Fabulous staff, caring with such empathy. They are all understanding to their residents and families, and it felt we were part of the family.
Manager is brilliant, the carers were funny and always on hand to help. The housekeepers did a wonderful job, and we have a brilliant albeit emotional journey.
We can't thank them enough.

Since my mum has been here she has made tremendous progress following her stroke, this I feel is due to the special care and attention she is receiving. I cannot fault anything at all the staff are all so caring and my mum is treated with dignity, and considering her health problems following her stroke
the care home is always spotlessly clean and we are always made welcome when visiting.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.731)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.731) out of 10 for Halton View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.128 for Halton View is calculated as follows: ( (56 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (8 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 117 Ratings = 4.128

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.603 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Halton View is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.8 = 0.703

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
