Simonsfield Care Home specialises in residential and dementia care. The beautiful home is situated near to shops and the town and is within easy reach of public transport.

Families are truly grateful for the personal support they receive, when faced with one of life's very difficult decisions and the team pride themselves on continuing that support to residents and their families from the moment they contact the home throughout the whole of their stay and beyond.

The approach to care is simple - look after the person and not the ailment/condition alone - care workers want to get to know their residents and their families, thus enabling them to look after the whole person and not just to concentrate on the task in hand. I can't rate Simonsfield highly enough, having struggled to look after Mum during the pandemic with her declining health; it was a weight lifted off my shoulders to know she's well cared for and safe. The home is lovely, there are lots of activities and outings, and her room is lovely. The staff are
absolutely amazing, truly caring and professional, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! Outstanding place!

I always find the staff at Simonsfield friendly, caring and approachable about any issues I may have regarding the health and well-being of my father. All the residents seem to be happy, and they get along with the staff. They have events for different reasons, which include the residents and relatives
- if they wish to join in. These events are always enjoyed by all.

In December 2022, my mum of 90, with a variety of care needs, could no longer live independently in her own home. Following several falls, we reluctantly sought assessment for a respite placement at Simonsfield Care Home. We genuinely cannot thank the manager of Simonsfield and her entire team there
enough! From day one, we have been impressed with the standard of management, cleanliness, friendliness, care and compassion from the entire team. Meals are of a very high standard, catering for individual needs and preferences, activities are varied and organised regularly, and socialising is encouraged. It really is a home-from-home, not clinical at all, special touches throughout the building such as street names, photos on room doors, there's even a hairdresser in there! Very comfortable indeed. I honestly believe, my mum is now in the best place, and we are currently seeking a permanent place. Well done, Simonsfield, be very proud of what you are achieving together.

Been to the care home on six occasions now and have only been able to gain access once to see my mum. On the very first occasion, I came at 1.30, and as this was the lunch time I understood. Each time since I have arrived outside of the lunch hours and have either been turned away or nobody has answered
the door. Can the notice on the front door be changed so that the times that visiting is allowed is clearly displayed and also have staff around to answer the door!

As a family, we would highly recommend Simonsfoeld Care Home to any relative with dementia. Whilst caring for our mum, the staff go beyond expectations from the manager downwards and truly are hardworking sincere caring nurses with a "home from home" thesaurus from start to finish. This is a nice care home where the staff are always very attentive to Mum's needs. The home is always clean and tidy and has facilities like fans to keep the environment satisfactory. The staff are always helpful and friendly and have genuine kindness and compassion for all residents. Everyone from
the manager through to the handyperson has the interests of the residents as their number one priority. I have no hesitation in recommending Simonsfields to anyone looking for a place for their relative/loved one to stay.

My mum has been in Simonsfield for the past seven months, and the care she receives is excellent. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and are always happy and cheerful. They have lots of activities which she takes part in, and she seems to really enjoy. We get plenty of letters and photo's informing
us of what she has been doing, which is lovely. She has the start of dementia and can sometimes get very anxious, but they deal with this in a kind and caring manner. I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and for looking after Mum so well.

My mum has recently moved into Simonsfield as she was no longer able to manage in her own home. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they are giving our mum. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. Mum has made friends at the home, is joining in activities,
and is enjoying regular meals along with lots of cups of tea. Mum has the start of dementia and suffers from heightened anxiety. The staff have been so kind and thoughtful in dealing with this, and we cannot praise them enough. My sisters and I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Simonsfield.

Last year we came to the reluctant conclusion that we needed to place my aunt in a care home and managed to get her a place at Simonsfield. I cannot speak highly enough of the care she is getting and the support we get from the staff of the home. Nothing is too much trouble, and the staff are helpful,
friendly and supportive whenever we have a query. My aunt has settled remarkably well in the home, and we are confident that she is receiving the best care we could possibly get her, absolutely wonderful staff and care home.

My mum has resided in Simonsfield Care Home since 2018 after suffering a stroke 5-years ago then a bad fall. I have nothing but praise for the staff, the care and support they have all shown to my mum over the last years and continue to do. My mum has made many new friends and enjoys the company.


During

lockdown due to COVID 19, I have met many new family members in the car park waiting to visit their relatives, and they have been unable to view Simonsfield in person before taking the decision for the best care possible for the relative. I do hope my own words spoken to them gave some peace of mind.

I visited my mum on Saturday 24 July and had arranged to take her out for the day. When I arrived, and after taking a Covid LFT, I met my mum, who was looking very smart, had had her hair done and was completely ready to go out. As I live in Bristol, my visit was intended as a surprise, and I was delighted
that the staff had maintained my secret!
I had a further visit on Sunday when I sat with my mum in the garden for several hours. Again, she was looking very well. Throughout my visit she was well looked after by the staff, being offered drinks, and they even brought her dinner out to the garden. The garden was looking well maintained, and the hanging baskets were blooming.
When I was leaving, to help the emotion, one of the carers sat with Mum to comfort and distract her. I really appreciated this thoughtfulness.
I'd like to thank all the staff who I came into contact with during both my visits, who were very friendly and made me feel extremely welcome.

My mum was taken into Simonsfield at short notice. As a family, we were devastated, as we wanted to look after her at home, but realised after eight and a half years with dementia, it came to the time where we couldn't give her all she needed. We are so pleased we chose Simonsfield. The staff are so
lovely and professional from the minute we walked through the door; they welcomed Mum with tenderness and understanding, couldn't ask for any better.

Mum has been in Simonsfield for four weeks now. The staff are excellent; Mum doesn't have a bad word for any of them. They are friendly and treat Mum like one of their family. She is treated with dignity and has her best interest at heart. At the moment, they only have one activity person, which means
they only have activities for two afternoons, but hopefully, that will be sorted soon. My only quibble; is they don't put many photos on their Facebook page when I would love to see Mum. I find this to be an excellent home all-around.

Thank you for your lovely review, we are currently advertising for an activity person, the activity person works 4 days a week and divides her time to the 2 floors at present, however, the staff do activities also in the afternoons, music, bingo, activity table, we also have film days, in our cinema room with popcorn and ice cream treats. Simonsfield made my mums transition into their care very smoothly. Any concerns I have had, I spoke to the manager, and we got these sorted, mainly about my mum mixing with other residents. My mum is now settled and made many new friends.
