Built on the site of the old Glenroyd Maternity Hospital, Glenroyd is located in a quiet district of central Blackpool, yet only minutes away from the beautiful Stanley Park, the seafront and the famous Blackpool Tower.

Glenroyd provides high-quality 24-hour nursing care, along with fantastic facilities and services for those living with dementia on the dedicated 'memory lane community'. The team of highly qualified and attentive staff focus on the individual needs of each resident, creating a uniquely tailored care plan for each person.

The dedication of the staff can be seen across the board in catering, hospitality and the implementation of a varied activities programme.

I came into Glenroyd first week in March and as I came through the front door the welcome was excellent and everybody was so nice and kind and the establishment was 100% up to standard and can't be faulted. I would like to stay as it is my wish to spend my time here for a very lovely time as it has
got a lovely garden which you can go and relax and enjoy peoples company.

Yvonne

Yvonne Hand

Job Title: General Manager

Joined: 2023

Hello, my name is Yvonne, and I am honoured to be the General Manager at Glenroyd Care Home.


My journey with Glenroyd began as an agency nurse, and I quickly became attached to the home’s warm, family-like atmosphere. After consistently returning for over a year, I officially joined as Deputy Manager in June 2023 and was thrilled to be promoted to General Manager in November 2024. The sense of community here is truly special. The sense of community here is truly special.


Previously, I worked as a Ward Sister at Southport Hospital, working on an acute frail elderly ward, an acute medical short-stay unit, and specialising in diabetes care. Caring for the elderly is my passion, and I am privileged to build meaningful relationships with our residents and their families.


As part of the management team, my priorities include ensuring the safety of our residents, providing person-centred care, and enabling them to lead fully enriched lives. We are committed to delivering the highest quality of care, ensuring that each resident feels at home and their families have peace of mind knowing their loved ones are in caring and professional hands.

My name is Sally and I am the Home Administrator at Glenroyd. It is my role to support the General Manager by maintaining the administration, HR and financial systems within the home. I joined Barchester as the admin assistant in August 2018, I feel at home and love all that Barchester stands for! I hope that I can utilise my skills and knowledge and only add to the amazing care that goes on at home. I will be here to help families as they find the right care for their loved ones and navigate their way around fees and funding. Hi, my name is Debbie, and I am the Administrator Assistant at Glenroyd. I began my journey with Barchester in 2022 as a Care Assistant. When the position of Administrator Assistant became available, I eagerly joined the admin team.


In my role, I not only manage front-of-the-house duties but also support the Home Administrator to ensure the smooth running of the home on a daily basis. I am always available to offer support to the relatives of our residents and to assist the management team. Hello my name is Julie I have worked at Glenroyd since 2008 as a domestic in 2019 I took over as head housekeeper. I like working with the housekeeping team, and I love talking to residents and making sure their rooms are clean and tidy also getting everyone involved where possible. I want to help residents remain as independent as possible.


I work hard to ensure that the home maintains Barchester's high standards and that they work to create a relaxed, personal atmosphere for residents, relatives and staff.

Hi, my name is Agata Prendota and I am the activities coordinator here at Glenroyd. I have worked at Glenroyd since 2014 and in April 2022 transferred to activities. I developed a strong relationship with many of our residents and their families. This has helped me to create a tailored activities program focused on maximizing everyone’s well-being, independence, and social engagement.


It is my goal to create a stimulating environment that enables me to provide imaginative, fun, and motivational activities that suit every interest and ability. My infectious enthusiasm and creative approach are the key to inspiring our residents and staff to get involved in activities both within the home and in the local community.


I am passionate about my role and especially the challenge of coming up with new ways to engage as many residents as possible in daily activities.
