The Willows is a 26 bedroom care home with hotel standards, based on the fringe of rural Blackpool, St Annes, and Lytham that looks after elderly residents throughout their retirement and any health issues they may have.

All resident rooms are accessed at ground level, with own TV and access door leading to a secluded private garden.

The home's aim is to improve the lifestyle of its' residents, offering as much personal choice and opportunities for entertainment and physical activities as possible, whilst keeping all occupants safe, healthy and secure, with permanent access to skilled carers.

The Willows has also been recognised by the NHS Gold Standards Framework for end-of-life care as a 'Beacon' Home, the highest possible award available – and one of only two such care homes in Blackpool to achieve 'Beacon Status'.

In 2014, The Willows became the first home nationally to become the most recommended care home in the UK. Later the same year, the care home was a finalist in the National Care Home Awards held in London.

The Willows is often featured on BBC Radio Lancashire and has contributed to Granada Reports, ITN News and Good Morning Britain.

The owner has been selected as a judge at this Years National Care Awards in London.

My husband is a resident and I couldn't be any more grateful for the help and support provided to him. The home is beautiful and clean. The staff are wonderful and friendly and take great care of my husband.

Mum has been a resident at The Willows since September 2020 and she has always been very well cared for. She comments frequently on how kind all the staff are to her and we find the staff to be extremely approachable. Whenever there is an issue which needs sorting out, they are quick to respond and
very professional. The home is bright and welcoming, as are the individual rooms. Mum looks out onto a courtyard where she can watch the weather and the birds. She is very content and she enjoys chatting to everyone on a daily basis. Mum's needs are met to a high level with regular attention to her specific requirements such as skin problems. She enjoys all the activities provided and she particularly enjoys being able to take Communion on a regular basis. I have already recommended The Willows to several friends and I would have no hesitation in continuing to do so. The ambience and care are second to none, thanks to the whole team's contributions at The Willows.

My mother moved into The Willows in October 2024 and has now been in for a month. The staff and management have been excellent and extremely caring and professional. They have gone above and beyond to help my mother settle into her new home. I can't recommend The Willows highly enough.

Mum has been a resident at the willows for over 18 months and has been well cared for and supported to fit into the community. The staff are friendly and caring and are always available for residents and visitors.
Mums complex health needs are understood and are well managed by the staff with regular
communication to the family.
The variety of activities helps mum to keep engaged with staff and other residents whilst keeping her mind as active as possible.
Mums personal needs are looked after, she is always well fed, clean and seems happy in herself.
I can't thank the staff enough for their care and support.

So grateful to all the staff at The Willows Care Home. Dad has been at The Willows for a couple of months now. Everyone has been so helpful, interested in helping him settle in and find his niche. The staff have been great with the family as well - always welcoming. It is a lovely, homely place and
great that they provide interest-related activities for the men as well as for the larger group of resident women.

From the first phone call to meeting staff and viewing The Willows we were very impressed. Mum has been a resident for four weeks and in that time I have been put at ease by the caring staff that has been shown to my mum and myself and would not hesitate to recommend The Willows Care Home.

Mum has been at the Willows since early 2023, 10 months now. The layout of the building with many courtyards and lovely gardens with bright, fresh decor and lots of large windows gives an uplifting ambience. All the staff are patient, caring and respectful with all the residents; I have observed this
on each visit over many hours at different times of the day. The activities were really good and thoughtful with musicians, care home pets brought in and celebrations. A consistent approach and really good communication at all times make The Willows a very special place.

Whilst searching for a suitable Care Home for my 91-year-old sister who has dementia I came across an advert for The Willow in Blackpool. I made an appointment to carry out a viewing and check availability. The home is situated on a very quiet road surrounded by a high fence. I was given a warm welcome
I was amazed at the decorations and superb chairs in the lounge and conservatory with spotless carpets. I was shown a bedroom which was superb in every aspect, very bright with patio doors leading to the gardens. My sister is now a resident, loves the staff and daily activities and keeps praising the food.

The Willows is fabulous. It resembles a little boutique hotel. Mum has been a resident At the Willows Care home since June 2019. She has dementia and I had been caring for her for five years. Following an alarming fall, it was obvious I could no longer provide the level of care Mum needed. Finding a
suitable care home was a very daunting and emotional experience. We viewed a number of care homes before the Willows. On my initial tour, I knew immediately it was the ideal place for Mum. The residents were gathered in the lounge listening to a singing duo they looked happy and well-groomed. The rooms were tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean, each having an en-suite with a view of the courtyard garden. Mum is now 98 and continues to receive an outstanding level of care from an amazing, hardworking, respectful and dedicated team. She never fails to participate in the weekly programme of activities and entertainment and enjoys having her hair and nails done. A massive thank you to The Willows.

My mum has been a resident at The Willows for the last eight months and I feel she has settled really well after a rocky start but now is enjoying her time there. I feel the staff are friendly and caring and there are a lot of activities she participates in. She's made a few good friends. I would recommend

From my first contact with the managers at The Willows Care Home, I was reassured about the difficult changes ahead for my Dad and Stepmother. No members of my family had been through this process before so we had to learn quickly. The trial period was a great idea and ultimately they made the decision
to move in permanently which was a huge relief for us all and we are so happy and relieved that they are thriving. My sisters love being sent photos via email of activities and Dad often says "no complaints, they can't do enough for you." The safety of all is taken very seriously - from covid measures to visitor arrangements and medication.

My father-in-law's admission into the Willows was eased by the fact that we were allowed to unpack his things and put up pictures etc the day before his arrival. Communication has been good all along and the carers are respectful of his needs and wishes. My father-in-law enjoys the food and has found
other residents to engage with and he talks about the activities. He looks better and seems less anxious than pre-admission. After 5 weeks, that's as good as we could have wished for. I have only praise for The Willows and its fabulous staff. Covid precautions are taken seriously.

My husband wasn’t happy going into respite, but he settled in thanks to the kind and caring staff. His room was clean, bed comfortable and what I liked was that he could walk outside and be safe. He enjoyed the food.

Mum had a 2-week respite stay during Jan 2022 and was very happy throughout the stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the overall cleanliness was very good. Would thoroughly recommend The Willows Care Home.

My mum was admitted for a 3 week respite period and this was the first time she had experienced a respite stay anywhere. The staff (in the majority) were very welcoming and caring and made Mum feel at ease. The food and room were very good and during the day, the activity coordinator provided stimulating
and fun activities which all residents were able to participate in. The standard of hygiene in the home was high and all visitors adhered to covid policies and procedures. All staff working there had been vaccinated, which was reassuring. The system for arranging baths/showers was not explained to Mum and consequently, she only had a shower once a week. Residents can use the mobile phone as required at no cost and families can ring in for updates on their family members, although my cousin rang 3 times during her stay and asked staff to tell her she had rung but the messages never got to her. At mealtimes, she would recommend the TV be turned off as people tend to like to chat.
