The Willows is a 26 bedroom care home with hotel standards, based on the fringe of rural Blackpool, St Annes, and Lytham that looks after elderly residents throughout their retirement and any health issues they may have.

All resident rooms are accessed at ground level, with own TV and access door leading to a secluded private garden.

The home's aim is to improve the lifestyle of its' residents, offering as much personal choice and opportunities for entertainment and physical activities as possible, whilst keeping all occupants safe, healthy and secure, with permanent access to skilled carers.

The Willows has also been recognised by the NHS Gold Standards Framework for end-of-life care as a 'Beacon' Home, the highest possible award available – and one of only two such care homes in Blackpool to achieve 'Beacon Status'.

In 2014, The Willows became the first home nationally to become the most recommended care home in the UK. Later the same year, the care home was a finalist in the National Care Home Awards held in London.

The Willows is often featured on BBC Radio Lancashire and has contributed to Granada Reports, ITN News and Good Morning Britain.

The owner has been selected as a judge at this Years National Care Awards in London.

Our Mam moved into The Willows for a little break near the seaside, after Covid restrictions eased. She loved it so much that she decided to stay. She loves the access to the garden and being able to see squirrels, rabbits and birds. Our Mam has exactly the same experience, being a permanent resident
now. She loves the activities, being able to opt-in and out, as she chooses. The team at The Willows are responsive to family members questions, requests and are proactive about keeping us updated with Mam's appointments, needs and changes in health. Every member of staff our family has met either at the door/gate or in passing have been very welcoming, helpful and accommodating. As a family, we are very happy with it and feel lucky to have found a home that really does provide care that is "outstanding". Their CQC rating is rightly deserved from our experience. Thank you all at 'The Willows" for your patience, dedication and care in looking after our Mam.

Our Mum who has now sadly passed away moved into the Willows in 2019. We cannot praise the staff highly enough for their care and dedication towards our Mum. They go out of their way to make you feel part of the family. Mum used to say “I love it here”, which gave us peace of mind that Mum was happy.
The surroundings are very calming and the home has a very pleasant atmosphere, with activities on a daily basis, encouraging everyone to take part. We will miss visiting the home as the staff became part of our family. We would highly recommend this home and thank them for their love and support in making Mum's time there a truly happy one.

I find the staff to be very caring. They are always extremely pleasant when you phone or visit and are very helpful when you ask questions or share your concerns. They always seem to be aware of where my husband is and what he’s been doing. This gives me confidence in them. I feel he is being well looked

Sadly my mother spent only the last two months of her life at The Willows. I say sadly because those two months offered a level of care, kindness and attention to detail that I can only describe as exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble in helping her to settle and feel at home. Various bits and
pieces from home were arranged in her room, and she loved looking out onto the flowers. She enjoyed the food (especially the sausages, which she was sure were cooked in red wine). She participated in the Burns afternoon and the Chinese/Valentines day event with enthusiasm. When she returned to the home after a brief stay in the hospital, she was tended to with great care and her last days were calm and relaxed. All this against a backcloth of all the restrictions of Covid. We can't thank the staff enough. This is a model of how care should be provided for our elders.

My mum (who is now deceased) asked to move into The Willows permanently after spending time in there for respite while l had been on holiday. My mum loved everything about The Willows, the staff are amazing, always very kind and their care and attention for all residents is always their main priority.
l had originally looked around care homes prior to Mums stay here, and The Willows were by far one of the best. All the bedrooms are well maintained, always very clean and comfortable. Mum took paintings and photos from home and had them put on her bedroom walls. Making it homely.
The food was always very good quality. With everything produced to a very high standard.
There is always plenty of activities for the residents to do, which are organised.
I knew Mum was in very good hands living at The Willows, which gave me huge peace of mind; she made lots of friends too. She was a resident there for 2 1/2 years and was extremely happy there. I would highly recommend it.

I cannot speak too highly of The Willows Care Home. The surroundings, staff and care are second to none. About 4 years ago we had to find somewhere for my aunt who was very unhappy in her previous care home. As soon as we walked through the door we knew straight away that this was where we wanted her
to spend the rest of her days. I loved the fact that everything was on the same level and that each bedroom had its own door into the lovely safe enclosed garden, where we could sit and chat in the warmer months. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff, as my Aunt became frailer due to her physical disability. She celebrated her 90th birthday in October, however, due to Covid we were unable to be with her to help celebrate this special occasion. The staff, however, were marvellous they pulled out all the stops, and I feel that she had the best birthday ever... bunting, singing, cake, presents. Sadly, however, she passed away very peacefully a few weeks later.

Finding The Willows Care Home was a wish come true. My Mum and Dad had to go into The Willows together after struggling at home with Dementia. I was very anxious and upset but the process was very organised and smooth thanks to the Owner's reassurance and professional help. The bedrooms are ensuite
and well equipped with access to the garden. All the staff are amazing, caring and helpful, keeping me informed of their progress. They settled very quickly - enjoying the meals and entertainment and having the company of the other residents.
My Dad passed away in November and the staff arranged an 'end of life' care plan. Nothing was too much trouble in caring for him and liaising with me. I cannot thank the Home enough for their dedication and professional manner at this sad time. My Mum is still a resident and the staff have given her excellent care in coming to terms with her loss. I would definitely recommend The Willows Care Home and cannot praise all the staff enough.

When looking for a suitable care home for our very loved Uncle, we found The Willows and its extremely wonderful owner. My Uncle needed to be moved from his county into a suitable care establishment, and due to his very advanced age and particular needs, as a family, we decided upon The Willows. A beautiful
caring home, The Willows was a joy. Bright, cheerful, delightfully decorated and a place of happy faces and friendly staff. Clean and efficiently run, with glorious gardens, and even little window boxes outside each room, we couldn't have wished for a more beautiful place for him to spend his final months/years. Sadly, my Uncle passed away before we could even move him, and this was devastating for us. But, the owner was every inch a gentleman. Nothing was an issue and he spent a huge amount of time ensuring my Uncle's move was a smooth and pleasant one. I cannot praise this establishment enough. Caring, warm, and somewhere I would happily recommend as a home from home.

Dad spent 30 very happy months in The Willows where he was treated with respect despite a progressive mental and physical decline. In all aspects, we rated the level of care provided as consistently exemplary. The staff were always caring and sympathetic and willing to go out of their way to deliver
excellence.
Last Autumn Dad’s health markedly deteriorated to the point where we had to face the inevitable that the centurion’s time was passing. The management and staff of The Willows developed an “End of Life’’ care package tailored to Dad’s exact needs. Where we thought that it was impossible to further excel the staff further ‘upped their game’ to meet these new demanding circumstances. The Willows Team delivered a highly attentive, professional programme that was fully sympathetic to his worsening health condition but highly comforting for dad and members of our family helping us all to deal with the pain and distress experienced. We cannot praise and thank the team enough. Thank you.

Mum came to live here in April after a long hospital stay. The Willows stood out head and shoulders from the rest. Mum was given respectful attention, care and affection from the staff. They are all great. Mum was always reluctant to join in social activities in her later years. Astonishingly, within
the first 10 days, she was joining in, particularly loving the singers who came. The activities are neither patronizing nor compulsory. Food was excellent and the place is spotlessly clean and tidy and the fact that it is all ground floor is a huge bonus - Its free-flowing and garden areas are pleasant and safe. Location is rural and peaceful. Owners dealt with us really well taking time to explain everything clearly and kindly. Sadly, Mum had to return to hospital but in the limited 3 weeks she had she had already relaxed into the new routine and begun to smile again. Thank you so much to the Willows for giving Mum a truly happy time and making her feel at home.

A very caring environment.
The staff are very friendly and attentive.
Mum has just returned from a spell in hospital and the staff quickly eased mum back into her routine.
I think the staff are fantastic.
The level of involvement in activities is really good.

After mum, 94, fell and broke her hip in December, we knew when she was discharged from hospital, we had to seek a place comfortable for her respite care and on viewing The Willows Care Home for the first time, I felt a very friendly and helpful presence. It was a huge decision for my brother and I, to place my mum in a care home. I didn't like the idea and never thought of her being in one but her health deteriorated and with me living in Leeds, we realised she couldn't manage herself.
The staff are first class, always friendly, helpful and efficient.
My
mum has been here over a year and she is contented.

The staff cannot be praised highly enough for their care and kindness to all the residents.


My dad has settled in very well. He has a choice of whether or not to join in the activities, of which there are many. If he wishes to have 'his own space' he has an extremely comfortable room in which to

relax.


My family and I are very happy for Dad to be living at The Willows, where he is safe and content.

This was a first, as Mum has always been able to take care of herself, so I was worried about how she would settle. The Owner and the Registered Manager both came to meet Mum at our home and the staff were so welcoming to Mum upon her arrival. I was overwhelmed, we were greeted and the staff totally
took control. After being taken to the room where Mum would be staying, what a lovely room, en-suite and overlooking the garden, we unpacked and went to join the residents in the lounge area where the afternoon entertainment was underway for those who wanted to join in. Mum was immediately taken under their wing and introduced to everybody, and to be quite honest soon forgot we were there. So as before this is a big thank you to everybody for making Mum’s stay such a lovely experience, for caring for her and treating her with such respect and for feeding her so well, but also for giving us peace of mind that she was safely being taken such good care of whilst we were away.
