Cherry Trees enjoys an elevated position and overlooks the Dearne Valley Park and is close to Barnsley. There are shops and other amenities within easy reach, including public transport and the M1.

The property is a purpose built care home providing care for older people who are physically frail and older people who have mental health needs.

Rooms are mostly for single occupancy, although several are large enough for sharing companions. Many are en-suite.

Cherry Trees has several lounges and separate dining rooms, where residents can join the company of others at meal times. Traditional home cooked food using fresh produce is served.

A hair stylist and qualified chiropodist visit the home regularly.

I have had respite care in various care/nursing homes - one of which I only stayed for 1 day and night. I stayed at Cherry Trees in January 2022 and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't miss home as much as usual. I was treated with kindness and dignity. Despite the home being busy, my needs were kept
to a reasonable time. I was hoping to stay again in the summer but just days before, they had a mandatory lockdown because of lockdown. I have stayed 8 days this time and would happily recommend to anyone, but hope they still have room for me next time.

Lovely staff, helpful and friendly. Food is good, homecooked and nutritious. Kept informed of issues by nurses and progress made when visited by the nurse and physiotherapist.

I think the whole staff and management at Cherry Trees Care Home are marvellous, everything I have asked has been answered quickly and acted on. I was there when my wife was in such a deep sleep, the staff were concerned. This was acted on immediately and the head nurse called. She was tested and woke
up, on reflection they decided, on my comment, she has 'sleep apnoea' and that their machine had gone missing at the hospital. This was acted on immediately and within two days a new machine arrived. I cannot fault them, she's safe, warm and looked after.

My dad has Parkinson's and gets confused. We struggled to find somewhere he and us felt settled. Within a few days of Dad being in Cherry Trees Care Home, he felt and looked happy. He is kept occupied with games, singers and therapy dogs which he enjoys. The food is excellent and the staff work hard
to make sure it is a happy home.

My mum was admitted with complex care needs following a stroke. She had been very resistant to going into a care home but her condition meant that there was no other choice. The staff at Cherry Trees Care Home have been great, helping her settle in and organising her complex medication needs. When she
needed hospital treatment they organised an ambulance quickly.
Also important for me is that they have been really helpful to my dad who is having to adjust to a big change in his life.
All in all, we could not be happier with the care my mum has received.

I am not happy with the care that they give my nan who was there. She was in from Wednesday to Tuesday and every day the food was cold from breakfast, dinner, and tea. I complained about it a few times and still didn't have it warm so then, for a few days, wouldn't eat her food and would not eat. The
staff did not show any care for it

Since my husband has been in Cherry Trees Care Home, I feel he is more accepting of his condition and seems happy and relaxed with his surroundings and staff.
He says the food is good and enjoyed it. Wishes there was more to do.
As his wife, I feel happier now leaving him in his care surroundings.
Staff keep me informed of any changes in care and treatment.

All the staff are amazing, the care they have given my dad has been outstanding. He came into the home with end-of-life care but the staff have turned him around and is now out of bed, using a wheelchair, making friends and smiling again. This is all down to the staff and I can't thank them enough.

Good home that is trained to deal with residents with complex needs. My sister-in-law is aggressive on intervention and they are getting to know her needs, likes and dislikes. She is well cared for and staff and management are all very nice.

As Mum's health deteriorated very quickly Mum needed nursing care. A bed was found, staff were quick to respond to Mum's needs making her feel safe, comfortable and settled, a lovely level of care. In this short time, management have been good to answer any enquiries. A calming environment, sometimes
appears to be a little understaffed but the staff who are there still keep up the high level of care. Thank you.

After having to make the most difficult decision as a family to make arrangements for Dad to enter a care home, we are so glad that now two and a half years later we choose Cherry Trees Care Home. Everyone involved in the care of the residents is so caring and friendly to both residents and also to
relatives, especially these last couple of years when things have been so tough for everyone. I think the home feels very welcoming when you enter and is light and fresh looking in decor and furnishings and everything is so clean, neat and tidy and have lovely, homely bedrooms. I cannot praise everyone enough for all they do and we can trust them in taking care of everyone in their care. A big thank you to you all from my dad and from us, you all have become our friends. Keep up the good work, you are all stars.

All the staff are hard-working, kind and knowledgeable. The centre could do with updating i.e. some money spending on IT. I still have problems with my mum coming out with someone else's clothes on despite all her clothing having her name sewed inside. Overall, the staff do a brilliant job under the

We have always found the staff to be good with Mum, the room she is in is basic but comfortable. Mum is always clean and well dressed. The current epidemic makes visiting difficult, but there is a pod provided and currently, I can visit one on one with the appropriate PPE.
