The entire staff could not be any better - they are all kind and caring, and they are all fantastic. My mother has received great care from the moment she arrived; she is very settled and has made friends with the complete staff. I could not rate this place highly enough.

Since Mum's been in the care home her health has become better. The staff are attentive and caring and interact with the residents all the time. That's important when dementia and Alzheimer's is concerned when I've been down at meal time it smells gorgeous. The food looks and smells wonderful, also
the activities that take place are fantastic.

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Mum's condition can sometimes make her frustrated and confused. Staff deal with this with a smile and encouragement and Mum is soon reassured. Her room is clean and the general areas of the home always smell pleasant. I have every confidence that Mum is safe,
comfortable and well looked after. I'm extremely grateful to be able to leave her in such capable hands.

I was frightened of what I would find at the care home but immediately realised that it was a good, safe and friendly home to live in. I know my brother can be a handful, so I was impressed at the staff's handling of him - so friendly, gentle and calm. I can say that I honestly think that I don't have
to worry about his care and he almost always has a laugh and joke with the staff.

I have visited several times with my brother to see our eldest brother who has been a resident for several months now. He loves it here and I can understand why as all the staff are really friendly and professional and the place feels like one big happy home. We are always made to feel welcome by the
staff when visiting and I admire their dedication and devotion to the residents and we always have a bit of a laugh with them. We have spoken to several of them and really appreciate the care they give to our brother always delivered with a smile and a pleasant word. I would recommend this place to anybody.

I have been in the home for well over a year now and have always found the carers to be very kind and helpful. The accommodation is very good and I particularly enjoy the food that they serve - it is healthy, tasty and easy to eat. I get on well with all the other residents and enjoy the events that
the staff organise, especially when I can show them how to dance the Waltz. I feel safe and well looked after here.

Upon Dad's arrival, he and we were made welcome by the staff. They are approachable and willing to discuss Dad's care and needs. Due to the current issues, there are times staffing levels seem low, but they still try to give good care.

The staff at Darnall View have been excellent. They have been fantastic with Dad and us. Always make us welcome when visiting and the place is spotless. Dad loves it in Darnall View and says he feels safe and really well looked after. Darnall View have a really good team and we are extremely grateful

The manager and all her staff have been excellent since day one. They have been very welcoming and helpful to dad, and us as his family. The staff are friendly and very skilled at what they do. Despite working in difficult circumstances (e.g Covid) and with residents with varying special needs, the
staff are professional at what they do. The home is well managed and the staff really do care. My dad likes it so much that he wants to stay permanently. We have real peace of mind knowing our dad is in safe hands.

The care that my father-in-law received was excellent, respectfully with the problems of facing Covid-19, we can't thank Darnall View staff enough for what they did for him.
However, the chaotic billing process we had regarding my father-in-law's fees was questionable? Hermes Care really needs to review
how their financial department deals with fees.

After my grandad had a fall and nobody was around to look after my Nannan, I had to look for emergency care, and Darnell View took my Nannan in, it was so easy and stress-free. My Nannan really enjoyed her stay, and when coming to collect her, she didn’t want to return home. She says she never stopped
laughing from the day she went in, to the day she left. My Nannan has Alzheimer's and can show very challenging behaviour, but I think because she was so comfortable at Darnell View, she never had any problems. The staff are lovely and can’t do enough for you. I can’t recommend Darnell View enough, my nan now has 28 days respite a year, and she will definitely be returning, and I’m sure she’s looking forward to it as well. Thank you so much for being there when I needed you the most to take care of my Nannan.

I love and have always enjoyed being in the care sector and find this a really rewarding job and my way of giving back to the residents whom we support, I don't see this as just a job I see it as an extended family and always say Darnall View is a family.

i have worked at Darnall View for 23 years and have worked as a senior , Deputy manager and then stepped down and became one of the cooks in the home.


I enjoy having a sing a long and a dance with the residents and enjoy taking part in setting up activites and birthday parties for the residents.


i really like to do a sweet troley for the residents so they have plenty of sweet/ puddings to choose from and i take pride in setting the sweet trolley up.
