My Husband and I visit once per week, weekdays due to shift working patterns. We have met most of the staff and have found them all to be friendly. We have witnessed the games etc which residents are encouraged t take part. All in all everyone seems to be satisfied. The outings are an added bonus for
all who take part.

My brother seems to be happy and content in his new home. It's over one year now since my brother went into Darnell View, straight from the hospital. We are always greeted cordially and are made aware of any changes to his health etc. There are activities that he (and us) sometimes participate in and
mostly enjoy. Its important to us to know he's well looked after especially as his health diets and his dementia worsens.

Excellent facility and facilities. Clean, warm welcome, happy, caring staff on all levels from management to staff. Fantastic home cooked meals, we have "stayed for lunch." Lovely homely feel throughout the home, private room "bedroom" for all residents. Very accommodating to visitors always asking
if we would like tea/coffee. My mum has never looked so well or so happy. Must add, it does not smell, as other care homes do of urine and cabbage. Would definitely recommend and I have.

A friendly and welcoming care home which my mother has taken to really well. I'm always made to feel welcome and any concerns are dealt with promptly. To be honest, Darnall View has probably prolonged her life.
I have only good things to say about her care. My mother seems to enjoy herself as much
as anyone can with dementia.

My sister has has been in the residence for two years and as I live in Canada I only see her for limited times. However, after my first visit I was very reassured that she is in a loving, caring environment. The staff are compassionate and empathetic to her needs and limitations. The food is very
well cooked and presented. My sister's clothing is always clean and if it gets stained after a meal the item is replaced. Her personal hygiene needs are met and her hair is always clean and well trimmed.


Staff are always speaking with the resident even if they received very little response. However, on occasions there is a reaction.


As I live so far away I occasionally telephone to see how my sister is doing. I always feel welcome by staff when I do this and I am given time to get a good update on her condition.


I am very pleased that my sister is in such a caring home and with people who treat her so well and with dignity. The staff are definitely "special" people.

My mum loves everything about Darnall View, and so do I. The staff are always happy and attentive to the residents every time I've been there. It's like a small family and always make our family feel welcome. The rooms are perfectly sized bright clean and ensuite. I feel content that my mum is safe
and well cared for. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone. Their attention to detail is a nice quality that some care homes don't have. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone.

I have been in the health and social care sector for over 28 years and have worked in numerous homes and settings and have worked myself up from care assistant to registered Manager and have completed my NVQ l2 and Level 3, Diploma level 5 in management.


I have just also completed my senior level 7 master's in management.


I have been the Registered Manager at Darnall View since February 2021.


I love and have always enjoyed being in the care sector and find this a really rewarding job and my way of giving back to the residents whom we support, I don't see this as just a job I see it as an extended family and always say Darnall View is a family.

I think I speak for all staff at Darnall View by saying that I am probably the loudest carer here! You can hear me before you can actually see me and can probably hear me singing all the way up on the second floor of the home!

i have worked at Darnall View for 23 years and have worked as a senior , Deputy manager and then stepped down and became one of the cooks in the home.


I enjoy having a sing a long and a dance with the residents and enjoy taking part in setting up activites and birthday parties for the residents.


i really like to do a sweet troley for the residents so they have plenty of sweet/ puddings to choose from and i take pride in setting the sweet trolley up.
