Mum went into Fernside Care Home just before Covid lockdown in March 2020. Dad was terminally ill at the time and not being able to see mum was very difficult. In our experience, Fernside staff are excellent in the service and care they provide. Mum has been happy when I have contacted her and the
staff have been friendly and polite. They have arranged video calls and on her birthday in 2020, they sent photos of her opening her presents which gave my dad great comfort that she was safe and well. Fernside follows the guidance laid out by the government and tries to accommodate visits as much as possible, with clear booking times and processes. My sister and I visited mum this birthday and I have been to see her a few other times. The interaction she has with staff is great to see. She is relaxed and happy with them and they react appropriately to her dementia and the confusion she shows at times. They help mum appear as groomed and presentable as she always has been. Thank you.

Thank you Sarah for taking the time to leave us feedback - we really value your feedback. I am so pleased to hear of your positive experiences at Fernside in the last difficult year and a half and glad you got to see Mum around her birthday. I've passed your comments onto the manager and her team at Fernside.
