My sister has been in Crimson Manor Care Home for 10-months and she is very happy there. The staff are lovely, caring people and are attentive to all her needs. The management is in the process of updating the outside relaxation areas ready for summer where residents and visitors can meet in a safe
and pleasant environment.

My mother was at this care home for the last years of her life. The caregivers were nothing short of exceptional and couldn't have done enough for her and us as family members. The staff were always helpful and it was a very clean and safe environment. I cant praise this home enough.

My husband was resident at Crimson Manor for nearly two years till his death. He had Alzheimer’s dementia and his behaviour was at times extremely difficult to deal with. The staff were always patient and attentive to his needs. He loved music and the manager made him a playlist of his favourite songs.
He liked the activities: going to the pub, playing table tennis, dementia jigsaws and the outside entertainers. He would also have “conversations” with Scooby (the visiting dog) and help feed the chickens. He was on a special diet in his final year at the home and the chef went out of his way to provide varied and nutritious meals. My husband liked to wander and go outside when he wanted and he was able to do this safely at the home. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for excellent care for their loved one in their final years.

Job Title: Owner and Registered Manager

After obtaining my first degree in Business Finance I changed direction into a career in health and social care where I have worked for more than 20 years. I went on to obtain a 1st class Psychology degree as well as training in person-centred counselling. I have studied extensively at the postgraduate level including cognitive behaviour therapy, mental health and dementia. I have undertaken many courses in health and social care and dementia as well as became a qualified Dementia Care Mapper in 2012. I am also a qualified health and social care teacher for the adult learning sector.

I have worked with learning disabilities, psychosis, depression and anxiety disorders, older people and dementia. I was awarded the Great British Care Awards Care Innovator of the Year for my work developing specialist dementia activities. I also have a keen interest in functional medicine and nutrition. I believe that people with dementia have the right to access these approaches which can help alleviate debilitating symptoms and improve quality of life.

Over the last 10 years, working with dementia has become my passion. I formed Crimson Care in 2013 with the mission of providing the best possible quality of life for people with dementia. I believe that although dementia presents many challenges for the person, people are still able to live full and enjoyable lives given the right environment and support.

In 2012 my own father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and in 2019 came to live long-term at Crimson Manor before passing away in November 2020. I take great comfort that despite his advanced level of disease, my father was still able to achieve a good quality of life. There is no other care home that I would have wanted to care for my father. I am extremely happy to be able to offer residential and daycare services to support people with this devastating illness.
