My Mother has recently passed away in Knowle Court, after being a resident for five and a half years, at the age of 104. It has been a difficult time, especially with COVID, hard to visit and of course much harder for the staff. Throughout the long time she was a resident, she received excellent care,
always lovingly looked after by everyone. The home was always clean and tidy, we were always made welcome to visit. Must also say that Mum was not the easiest to care for, quite a challenge. We would recommend Knowle Court to anyone needing excellent care.

I just wanted to say how lovely the staff at Knowle Court are.
I popped in to see my dad recently one lunchtime and there was such a friendly and caring atmosphere. I felt so welcomed that I even stayed to help feed him his lunch.
All the staff showed such respect to the residents and everyone seemed
very happy.
I also wanted to single out one member of staff in particular. From the moment he greeted me at the door and throughout the time I was there, he was so calm and caring towards everyone.
It is nice to see my dad looking so well cared for, clean, well fed and warm.

My mother recently passed away after a stay of 31 months, during most of which we all coped with Covid-19. The team at Knowle Court were very diligent in their monitoring of safety practices. We were extremely satisfied with the care she received and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Whilst
Mum was not a great mixer with other residents she, nevertheless, received full attention from staff. Her age (103) and lack of mobility necessitated long periods in her bedroom. She was quite happy with this situation.
Our grateful thanks to the management and staff.

I truly believe that you only understand the value and quality of care when faced with challenging circumstances. During the last twelve months, I have witnessed the very best of care by Knowle Court. The care and support they have given my mother during the Covid crisis have been exceptional. They
truly set the standard for others to aspire to. Their early assessment of the virus and the resulting safeguarding measures have proved to be an effective Covid line of defence. It is not just a care home. It is a loving family home where everyone is welcomed, supported and loved. Thank you to all the staff for their loving care of my mother.

Knowle Court took over my mum's care 4 years ago and in all that time, I have been extremely pleased with everything and everybody involved. Care is excellent, the staff treated mum with love, understanding and dignity to the very end. She was kept comfortable, clean and loved throughout her stay and
treated as a member of a close family. Communication between is was extremely open, honest and frequent and nothing was too much trouble. Her room was spotless and homely. Mum was cared for in my opinion in a gold star way. Our decision to go there - excellent - never questioned. Thank you, Knowle Court.

My mother had been a resident at Knowl Court from 2006 - 2009 and we had always been very pleased with her care, so when my mother-in-law needed 24 hour care we chose Knowl Court.
And again we have had a very positive experience. The staff have all cared lovingly and compassionately for not only my
mother-in-law but for the whole family and have made what has ben a very turbulent and difficult time a little easier.
We feel that the staff are a credit to their profession and should be very proud of the care they deliver.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.580)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.580) out of 10 for Knowle Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for Knowle Court is calculated as follows: ( (23 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.58 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Knowle Court is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 22 registered maximum number of service users is 4.4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.4 = 0.455

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
