Mum had outstanding care at The Radcliffe during the last few months of her life. The staff were kind and looked after her as her needs changed and she needed more help. I will always be grateful to all the staff who cared for mum and the management and admin. Massive thank you.

Clean and tidy and the food is good.
The care home decoration is tired and desperately needs work doing on it. Some of the staff are dedicated to their job but to others it's just a job. Activities could be arranged more age-appropriate.
Would not recommend for dementia care as staff are not qualified
to deal with the complex issues regarding dementia. Ideal for short stay, respite care only.

I visited my sister her for years, she was always happy and content. When the time came that I, myself needed help I knew the one place for me was The Radcliffe. I've been here six months or so and feel truly at home. The staff are marvellous and easy to get on with, considerate and helpful. Food is
good. I feel safe and quite at home.

My mum has been at The Radcliffe for the last 15 months. I was relieved to find a place where she is happy and gets treated with kindness from staff. Finding mum a suitable home before that was extremely difficult and caused us a great deal of stress. Now she loves spending an afternoon in the lovely
garden area and enjoys the food too!

Very very happy with how all the staff at The Radcliffe have helped my Grandad over the last few months. The care is brilliant, and they really take the time to get to know you. The manager has helped us out loads, and Grandad has a smile on face for the first time in ages. Lovely people and I would
recommend them to anyone. One other thing - every other home we tried wanted a massive 'top up' fee, but the Radcliffe didn't. Well impressed.

Current Review Score: 6.4 (6.364)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 6.4 (6.364) out of 10 for The Radcliffe is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 3.2 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 3.217 for The Radcliffe is calculated as follows: ( (10 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (5 Poors x 2) + (6 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 3.217

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.147 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Radcliffe is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.8 = 0.147

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
