My Aunt has been at The Coach House since May 2023, I am overwhelmed with how much attention the staff give the residents. My auntie is well looked after! The staff always go above and beyond to make sure my aunt is cheered up if she gets upset, the food is always excellent and homemade. I am given
regular updates on how she is doing so I feel content knowing that my aunt is in a lovely environment.

Our mum has been in The Coach House since March 2022 to the present day. The staff and the owners are fabulous, they always show care and compassion to the residents, nothing is too much trouble. The home always feels like home from home when we visit. Our mum is very happy there and content.

My Mum has been a resident in Coach House care home since Jan 2020. The care home staff provide excellent care in a homely environment. Mum is extremely settled and her needs are met in a professional and very caring way. Mum's mobility has deteriorated, following a fall and the staff have adapted to
her increase in needs and she feels very well cared for. As a daughter, I am very satisfied with the standard of care provided. It was difficult through the pandemic, to not be able to see Mum, but the safety of the residents was their first priority. The staff went above and beyond to make this as easy as possible for us to keep in close contact via FaceTime and eventually pod visits when this was allowed. The manager and her team are brilliant and as a family, we feel Mum is in the very best of hands.

Reply from Claire Buckle, Manager at The Coach House

Thank you so so much for your kind words. I have got such an amazing team around me at The Coach House, who really do care, and I am so proud of each and every one of them. All our residents are so well loved and over the last few difficult years, we have tried to ensure good communication with family and friends, following government guidance at all times. We do miss our constant stream of visitors in our home and hope we will soon be able to have some normality and be back to having lots of family parties again without all the restrictions we currently still have. I am so pleased you have entrusted us to care for your mum because I know how difficult it is for families. I do know your mum is also really happy living here with us, she is an amazing lady and so well loved by all her family.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.297)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.297) out of 10 for The Coach House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.696 for The Coach House is calculated as follows: ( (16 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 4.696

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.601 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Coach House is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 21 registered maximum number of service users is 4.2. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.2 = 0.476

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
