I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they have given my mom during the time she has been with them (just over a year). They have treated her with dignity and nothing is too much trouble and I have been able to feel she is safe and secure during this Covid epidemic. I would recommend this care
home 100%.

My father has been at Rievaulx House for 2.5 years. The staff and care have been excellent. He has a lovely sunny room, which is kept very clean. The home feels like a family, and all the staff are welcoming and friendly. The office door is always open, and open dialogue is encouraged so if there are
any issues (health or otherwise) they are listened to and actioned quickly. I would highly recommend this caring home.

At last able to visit my aunty. Staff caring, helpful and very good. Everything well organised despite the situation we all find ourselves in. Aunty looked very well and comfy, even had a hair trim, well done by carers! Staff working brilliantly under current conditions and most helpful at all times.
Covid protocol observed on outside visit with no problems.

I had my first face to face visit with my mum today and it was wonderful. Really well organised and I was met by a member of staff who provided me with an apron, masks and hand sanitiser and wipes. We were given 1/2 an hour and it was so special. Staff kept an eye on us from a distance and as the weather
was a bit poor we sat under a gazebo and mum was dressed accordingly. It really was fantastic. The staff at Rievaulx are amazing. Special shout to them all.

All our family came to the Xmas Party and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff and residents all very welcoming. The ukelele player was an excellent choice, we sang and danced and mum danced for the first time in years.

Mum moved to Rievaulx House in September, she has settled well and is looked after well. Staff are friendly and always willing to help when asked. Mum seems happy and has started to make friends with the other residents.
One suggestion would be to have a keyworker assigned to each resident as at times,
finding information out about appointments, physio etc can be difficult due to staff changing shifts. I would consider this to be a good care home.

I visited Rievaulz on Saturday 14th December to attend the Christmas party. My gran had only been a resident for a couple of weeks but the way she got on with staff and how warmly they treated her was lovely to see. She has always been fiercely independent and I never expected to see her willingly accept
residential care but she is totally happy in her new home and is loving being looked after in such a lovely environment. Thank you.

The "Chef" does not stretch himself with the meals. They are bland and very repetitive. Elderly people need food which is nutritious, appetising and healthy which gives them all the vitamins they need to sustain a healthy life and digestive system. This is lacking somewhat at these premises. Therefore
I suggest either a replacement chef or the existing one needs to be retrained on the nutritional value of serving food to the elderly.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this will help us improve our service where required. At HC-One, we put great quality food and best practice food service at the heart of the care programme for residents, key to their health and wellbeing, to ensure residents reach their recommended daily intake of nutrition. To do this we have access to an innovative management system to aid us in nutritionally analysing the HC-One menu cycle to ensure targets are achieved. Menus are planned to follow two seasons which change in April for spring and summer and October for autumn and winter. Within each season a four-week menu cycle is followed. Chefs are provided with these set menu cycles and a minimum bank of 300 nutritionally analysed recipes. Traditional favourites will be repeated otherwise main meal dishes, desserts and snacks will not be repeated more than once in a four-week cycle. Our residents participate in menu planning and if there is something on a menu that a resident does not like then there are always alternatives available daily.

I visit my sister and brother in law monthly, or more when possible. I am very happy with the quality of care given to each of them. They appear to be happy and settled in the home and this has to be due to the care they are receiving.
In my sister's words, "It is a very nice hotel - the staff are
very helpful and the food is wonderful". Albeit she has dementia, she is happy in her World and is enabled to live in "her World".

As this was my first time at a care home I was somewhat hesitant at what would happen and what I expected.
The staff here have been absolutely fabulous, they looked after me rather well, allaying my hesitance from the word go, the taking of medicines, is well organised and prompt.
Room is brilliant,
wet room (great fun to shower seated) quite roomy, living room/bed has bags of space and TV and WiFi.
Meals are smashing (vegetarian) a good selection for each meal times, food well cooked well prepped and hot
Room cleaned daily by a cheerful member of staff.
Xmas was made a memorable season for me.
I have no hesitance in recommending Rievaulx house to anyone that would be a 1st timer.

The staff are really caring and nothing is too much trouble they will do anything for my mum, she is always clean and tidy both in her appearance and her room and bathroom. I feel I can go to the office and discuss anything from personal matters to just everyday chit-chat. Mum has settled in lovely
she has been there for about 18 months now. Perhaps a little bit more of a selection of choice of food old people prefer old type meals e.g Shepherds Pie, Meat and Potato Pie or Corned Beef Stew. All in all fantastic.

We chose Rievaulx House because the home manager is very honest and supportive. When we looked around the carers seemed friendly and knew their stuff. It's a difficult choice, putting your parent in a home for any amount of time but we are very happy with the service and know that he is in good hands
with the manager and her staff.


I will recommend the home to all those looking for care in the Leeds area.

As a Heath Care Professional, Samantha has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at HC-One since 2018, Samantha closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Samantha remarked:


“Being able to see the outcomes of the support on a level that I am able to share with the team. I enjoy being able to make decisions in the best interest of the team and the home as a whole and being able to be involved in processes from top to bottom.”


Samantha has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievements being growing her career from the ground up being adaptable and flexible in her role collecting greater knowledge and skills along the way.


Outside of work, Samantha enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and a basset hound.
