My mum-in-law was moved into this care home from the hospital after breaking her hip. The staff were great with her and made sure she was involved in all activities, which she really enjoyed. She was well cared for, and I would highly recommend.

This is a friendly, caring and well run care home. My mother was a resident for the final 8 months of her life, despite her occasional reprehensible behaviour. The very high standard of her care was maintained to the end. The staff are brilliant, well-trained, compassionate, friendly and professional.
I couldn't recommend this home highly enough.

My mother-in-law was taken in by Springfield House when she could no longer manage in warden care. Despite many very challenging behaviours she displayed over the last year, the staff could not have been more caring and helpful.
She was treated with dignity right up until she died with staff visibly
moved at the funeral, genuinely sad. On the other hand, they were often found singing along to awful cheesy songs with her in her room and making her laugh.
We are so very grateful to them for making her final month comfortable, secure and happy.

The staff are so helpful, professional, kind and caring. They always have time to chat with visitors and residents alike. When they say they will do something, they do it as soon as possible - nothing is too much trouble. The care home is homely, welcoming and warm. The residents are treated like family.
The whole building is clean and bright. Our family feel confident that Dad is safe/happy living here.

My mum faces many challenges - poor mobility and incontinence. I live in New Zealand and had no idea what to expect, but when I arrived at Springfields - I was totally overwhelmed by the kind, knowledgeable staff. They really knew my mum and she loves being there. She talked about the diverse staff,
yummy food and activities. She told me she never felt a loss of self-respect and confidentially asked questions.
She is a night person and likes staying up to watch TV and get up a little later in the morning. She loves the flexibility to do this.

Mum has struggled with depression, the staff at Springfield help her by empowering her to talk about her deceased husband. She is a part of the family, the community and I feel confident to go home to New Zealnd.

Moving into Springfield has been a transformative experience for my mother-in-law from being in a depressed state, continually saying she did not want to be here are more, since mid-January she has taken on a new lease of life, mainly due to the wonderful staff.
Springfield, who have been so friendly
and welcoming. She was made to really feel a part of the community and they treat her with such dignity and respect. She is severely incontinent, even though they often need to change all her bedding in the middle of the night, she has never sensed she is a burden.

Being from the local area, she has problems communicating with the staff and they seem to be more like friends she may have met down at the local pub. She is definitely not a "morning person" and has appreciated their flexibility with regards to waking and bed times. When she is feeling a little tired she can have a light breakfast in her room and stay there until lunchtime; similarly, if she wants to watch TV late it's not a problem. She also loves the tasty and home cooked food, rather than the institutionalised, mass produced food of other places.

My experience of Springfield House is excellent in every way. Very caring staff and very pleasant, nothing is too much trouble. Staff and management always go that extra mile. Standard of cleanliness and meals are also very good. How can I put this, home from home. Very satisfied with everything simply
the best.

My Mum is a resident at Springfield House Retirement Home and in the 3 months she has been there, she has made friends, takes part in activities, is eating again and gaining a little weight and feels safe in her environment. She now sleeps for most of the night. In Mum's previous home, a large new purpose
built facility, she stayed in her room all day and did not mix with other residents. She always kept her door locked and didn't sleep very much at all. Mum also lost a lot of weight. I work at Springfield House Retirement Home and confidently moved mum there knowing she would be well taken care of. It looks like I have made the correct decision as mum is beginning to thrive and has continued improvement in all areas.
