My mum moved into Wharfedale House initially for a 2-week respite break and after meeting some of the residents, then seeing the view from her newly decorated room, she promptly declared "I could live here!".
Mum was looked after by a team of highly professional care staff who were totally committed
to providing a very high standard of care under the supervision of both an excellent manager and assistant manager.
When Mum passed away, Wharfedale House even coordinated and supervised her "end of life" care in conjunction with the doctors and district nurses.
The overall care provided by Wharfedale House was a credit to all the staff and I can never thank them enough for all their help.

Hi Hazel
Thank you so much for the review. We are so glad your mum had a great time at Wharfedale House. The staff have been working hard to ensure all residents (permanent or temporary) get the support they need.

The manager and his deputy have made such a difference since they were appointed. They are approachable and committed, with the result that Wharfedale House has a positive atmosphere and is being run for the benefit of the residents. Activities seem to have increased and notices are always kept up to
date. I am always made to feel welcome whenever I visit my son and I know I could air any concerns, knowing they would be acted on.
There are still issues with getting repairs done, but this isn't the home's fault. It's due to the unfathomable management system within the Leonard Cheshire organisation.
Well done to the manager and deputy.
