Walton Manor staff are very caring and responsive to individual needs. Every request I have made has been dealt with efficiently and with a smile. Residents seem happy and comfortable. The food and facilities are excellent, a luxurious surrounding. I felt confident that my relative is safe, well cared
for and as happy as she can be.

A good welcome into the home and my room was excellent with everything provided. All the staff were very helpful, kind and considerate. The food was very good and the home is set in beautiful grounds. I would certainly recommend this care home.

Walton Manor became "home" to my mum about a year ago, where she received nothing but care and kindness. This also extended to the rest of our family - where their support was always there. It is a lovely environment - but the staff are the people who make it the place it is. We cannot praise them enough
- they will have our ongoing thanks.

My view of Walton Manor over the last year has been very enlightening. I was without any experience of this type of environment - other than the horrors you see in the news. This was, therefore, wonderful when I was able to see a lovely homely environment, where people were cared for as if they were
in a hotel "with extra benefits". The atmosphere is happy and the staff are wonderful. I know this is paid for - but you buy care - you cannot buy the kindness! It is wonderful.

I used the service for 4 weeks respite care after a total right hip replacement. The care and help from all staff was very good. I was very unwell early in my stay and the staff looked after me well. The menu choices and standard of food was very good and I enjoyed all meals once I felt better. There
is no way I could have managed at home after my brief stay in hospital, so I am very appreciative of the help and support which has helped me to return home after 4 weeks.

I was devastated to have to put my father into care. The staff made it very easy he got 100% care entertainment, stimulation and love. I was made to feel like I was a part of a big family, nothing was too much trouble, any concerns I had was dealt with, my father had a permanent smile on his face. I
can't find strong enough words to say how thankful I am to the full team of Walton Manor. It is my pleasure to send this questionnaire.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.352)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.352) out of 10 for Walton Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.495 for Walton Manor is calculated as follows: ( (60 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.495

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.857 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Walton Manor is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 registered maximum number of service users is 9.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.4 = 0.957

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
